The only other demo person I run into- is a german man from promo works. He's actually quite funny to watch in action.... picture 2 women, one about 80, the other about 40 - you can tell either mom/daughter or grandmother etc.. he will say

"would you sister like some".... or a young mom, with a child- would your brother like some lol

He does some stuff that isn't up to MC 'code of ethics' like leaving early etc.. however, I will tell you that at the super walmart I was at today, it took a solid 30 minutes for me to pick up my trash all over the store- not sure if it was just mine- since he had the same cups- but I will from now on - if I do food events at this store- breakdown by 315, clean up for the 1/2 hour and wait for the manager at 345, since it always takes 10-15 minutes to get one...I wont leave the store with trash on the floors, or displays, but I also wont work 1/2 hour of my own either...

Since we're comparing "irritating demo workers", I gotta tell ya about Juanita. She's an older lady, wears a hair net (with part of her hair sticking out), wears gloves (all the time, even while eating her 4th sample of my cereal.) and she's very quiet (comes to my table and stands, doesn't talk, just stands). She's with NCIM I think, but today she had a Sunflower group button. I heard today a customer even complained about her because she was blowing on the cupcake papers to get them apart.:scared1:
Oh did I mention her shirt was stained and her pants were split on each side at the pockets so you could see at least 2 inches of the top of her undies/pantyhose.
P.S. When I said she was eating my samples with her gloves on, I mean she dumped the cereal in her gloved hand and put her mouth to her glove to eat it from her GLOVED hand!!

I did the Yoplait Whips at WalMart today (and will be doing the same at a different WM tomorrow) and while the event itself went just fine I ran into another MC person doing the Honeycomb demo. She was very nice but it is amazing to me that others do not follow the rules. She was not dressed properly--no hat/hairnet/bouffant and a white v-neck sweater-no collar and she came in late/left early although she did wait to make her check out purchase because I mentioned that I had heard about others being docked for being short on the hours--instead of actually doing her demo longer she picked up a few groceries to take up the extra time. She actually told me that when she does an event at Kmart she takes off in the middle and leaves for an hour or so and goes to another store and does her grocery shopping and that all the managers know and don't care!!! I am just shocked that people abuse this position so blatently. I think the worst I have ever done was took a bit too long for a break and took home a can of Diet Coke Plus because I did not see it in the bottom of my cooler. Is anyone else tempted to call and report the abuse of the job by another employee? I wouldn't mind not having her around as in our chats I found out that we are competing for many of the same stores. Well I guess I am just an overachieving rule follower--I can't even move my car around in my driveway without buckling my seat belt!

Yes I have been tempted to myself. There was one MC person who supposedly moved that would go shopping and come back with a cart full of stuff and keep it by her table. She also never set up her own table she would also ask for help. We got smart and looked very busy and pretended not to hear her ;) Mean I know, I believe in helping when help is really needed.

I had one demo person come and stand by me for about 20 min talking, I kept saying well gotta get back to work here but still kept standing, told me thier wife worked for wal-mart and he was getting ready to have lunch with her.. His stuff was on the table up front, I think tide, he said he was just promoting. But he wasn't anywhere near it...

I did flat earth crisps today, sold pretty well, I sold 20 bags in 4 hours... They only had 3 bags left, tried really hard to sell those but time ran out... I had to take an easy training exam, do you think I will get paid extra?
More yoplait today as an off date... how fun....

I took the test too & I was too sick to work yesterday. TMT pays less than SPi & I will keep my fingers crossed that you get extra$. I'd be interested in finding out what I could've made- keep me posted.

Did anyone else NOT receive a paycheck yet for dates of 5/5 - maybe 5/11 ish? I was expecting it last Fri or Sat & its still not here today (Mon). I worked 6 events that week & I tend to mail forms individually, but may have doubled up on some. Surely, they must have received SOME of my forms?

Waiting for a reply from them.

My checks used to come on saturdays now they come on mondays i will have to wait till i get home to let you know.

I'm at work today so I have not seen my mail yet but as of Saturday, I was still waiting for 5/5 paycheck!

heads up!
Diet Pepsi at Target 6/17 (at least in my area of the world)....isn't that father's day??

No, I haven't received a check and nothing on ADP for 5/16. Last check on ADP was 5/9. The 5/5 weekend is the one where we both mailed 3 sheets of paper and receipts with one stamp. Do you think that has anything to do with it?:confused3

Did Yoplait Whips today. Only bought 35 containers instead of 60 and sampled 18. Can you say BORING. Yesterday I did the Honey Comb and was right next to the Hershey demo person. Hardly anyone wanted cereal after having chocolate. Oh well, better luck Thursday when I do the Betty Crocker Potatoes.

I received my check today for 5/6 event. That was the only one I had that week.

I also did the Yoplait Whips today. First and last hour were very slow, but it picked up in the middle. Only 16 on the shelf when I got there, but they found some in back. Ended up with 85 on the shelf, so I bought 41. I used 40 for samples.
Thanks for posting about the Diet Pepsi today. I'd been looking for that and thought I'd missed it. Dh says he'll manage without me on Father's day(especially if I'm earning money)!
No check here.

I booked the 6/17 Father's Day Diet Pepsi at Target. Thanks. DH isn't a dad & this will get me out of having to see his sister & his dad if there is a cook-out. ;) :thumbsup2 Approved by DH -- so no problem. :goodvibes

Won't see my dad either (requires traveling) since I'm working day before also. He's ok with it too.

Honeycombs for me tomorrow.

I did HoneyComb/Pebbles and Yoplait this weekend. The most common question was about the amount of sugar. :confused3 I bought half of what I needed and still wasn't able to give it all away and believe me I was packing it in the cups.

On a strange note, I've been offerred several jobs now at the WM from lingerie dept. to Tire & Lube. DH thinks I should do both and then I'd be the "perfect wife."

Perfect wife. :rotfl:
Yes, those Yoplait Whips have ALOT of sugar when compared to Yoplait & Yoplait Light.

I found a HUGE time saver for myself. Seems like each night, I needed to set aside some time to pack & prep for next day since I've been working so much. Felt it was really cutting into that hourly pay to devote so much time before & after events with necessary tasks.

I've got 5 events worth of kits here right now & the room was just a mess. So, last night, I opened everything, tossed any extra packing paper or boxes (some kits were 2 boxes each). Added extra cups to events I thought would need them. Added trash bags to every kit. And wrote in pencil on the outside of the box anything I would need to add at last minute (apron, hat, more gloves....). Like an assembly line. It really didn't take that long.

Tonight, I simply went downstairs, grabbed the box & my table kit, added hat & apron & told DH it was ready for him to put into my car. WOW!!! Even he said " THAT WAS FAST!!!!" :thumbsup2

Previously, I was taking things out of their shipping box & stuffing them into my table kit. But these next events just have WAY too much stuff - like boxes of cereal & Pampers. Hate lugging that extra box to the store, but its saving me time packing. I think it will save me time at the store too. I won't have to remove everything from the table kit to set it up first.

Now....just need to reduce time in calling in & photocopying & mailing. :goodvibes

Less time spent "off the clock" is NICE. :thumbsup2 Only took me a year to figure this out. duh!

Splsh-

I call in from my car in the parking lot...then stop at staples and photocopy, then go to the drive up mail box on my way home....maybe 5 minutes? I dont think I can cut it any less than that. I have my envelope with me, and my stapler in the durango........ unless of course you have a copier at home, but I dont.
