Ditto the boring event! I was at the back near the baby section. Gave away 6 diapers the first hour. Saw way more employees than customers back there. So I asked if I could move to the front, which was okay, but not near the front door where they had puppies for adoption from the local shelter. Ended up giving all the diapers out, but only because I asked everyone who went by if they wanted one. I amused a lot of elderly couples! I had one man come back and say "why didn't you ask that man if he wanted a diaper like you did me?" pointing to a man who had just walked by. I laughed and told him the man said no thanks before I could ask!
Weird customer of the day: the woman who told me she wasn't a breeder.
Most embarassed: the woman who loudly told her dh the diapers had Pooh on them, then realized what that sounded like!

I've always wondered how the stores "know" about our events. This manager handed me a copy of the email he recieved about the event. It says Kmart and Kimberly Clark will be promoting the Huggies products, the date (might be rescheduled) and the time of the event. Asks to ensure the MC rep has adequate space near the baby toiletries.
Then it lists the product and the kit items. It ends with contact numbers and was sent on 5/11.

OK guys, I need some help. I was doing honeyconb and cocoa pebbles today. I was there 1 1/2 hours and I had to leave. My DD9 got hit in the chest with a softball bat(shes fine now). I called weekend line, she said that it was fine, that I would only get show up pay since I was already clocked in. Do I still need to call paperwork in?? If so, what do i say? Event ran, did not run(what reason)??

Thanks for any help you can give. I don't want top screw it up and not even get show up pay.

Thanks

Well, I once had a Target event end short, but not my fault. The product was switched at last minute & store didn't have enough. Weekend line said to run event until I ran out. It lasted just under 2 hrs. I had a swipe in & out. I called in my results as usual. Noted my times in & out. And explained at the bottom. I was paid for 2 hrs.

So, that's what I would do. Note time in & out based upon receipts. Report results as usual. Explain at the bottom.

I would expect you to also get 2 hrs pay -- which is the show up rate anyway.

She told me not to swipe out. I guess I will just do it as if it ran and note everything at the bottom.

Thanks

Sounds like a couple of us had great events. Mine was a no-go, no product. I went home and planted my garden, I was glad it was a beautiful day. I did hear the store was not busy at all.

Today I'll do something Archer Farms since yesterday they didn't seem to have enough Chicken fajita's. At least today I'll be working since ST can substitute the product.:thumbsup2

I have been wondering about something. I know if you swipe in late, like 11:05, than you have to wait to swipe out at 4:05. So, does the same hold true if you're early?? All of my stores are 30 to 50 minutes away, so I try to allow time for traffic and such. Sometimes I am early. If I go ahead and swipe in at 10:45, can I swipe out at 3:45??? Does anyone know??

Thanks for any insight.

I am doing the vaselinecocoa butter today. It is a mobile event, maybe it won't be so boring being able to walk around. This store is pretty dead(KMart).

Is anyone else doing this event?

I have another yoplait event tommorrow.

I'm home a little early from Target (by choice). They only had 14 bags of Flat Earth crisps - and mostly Peach Mango. I bought 5 for sampling instead of 12 bags. I gave out just 1 crisp instead of 3-4. But I did have 5 flavors open at once. Basically, I only had Peach Mango & Apple Cinnamon to sell.

I sold out of the 9 bags at 2:50. (Those last Peach Mangos were tough to get rid of. lol) Then ran out of samples at 4pm. And out of coupons at 4:10pm. Promoted for 5 minutes (lol) and decided to clean up. Swiped out at 4:25pm. Don't know what I'll be paid, but what ever it is, is fine by me. I've been working alot lately.

If Target wants us so badly.....maybe they should make sure they have stock. Its feast or famine with them. :confused3

They were popular...but if you have something on sale...AND you are doing sampling with coupons.... YOU NEED PRODUCT!!!

Did honeycomb and cocoa pebbles today....boring day at walmart, but saw a lot of folks I knew, so spent a lot of time gabbing LOL

Went through all 6 boxes, 248 samples, and I didn't skimp...

Guy from promoworks was doing hershey kisses- the baby ones, that are hard candy coated- his instructions said "7 per cup"....not a lot of baby kisses, and they were the same size cups as us...people were commenting!

My biggest complaint I heard, was the cocoa pebbles is so much better with milk LOL....yup, that was my thought too...

had quite a few kids spill cereal, and spent a good amount of time with a broom and dust pan I had nearby from a spill center at the walmart...thank god for that!

I swipe in about 10:50, and swipe out about 3:50.....then I go to customer service and wait for the manager to come sign me out.

Brandi, yes, everyone spills those souffle cups. Adults too. They are really bad - especially for kids. I forgot to mention that yesterday.

I bought those tiny Hershey kisses with candy coating last week as a swipe out because they were marked down to 25 cents at the register (bought 3 for my 75 cents). :confused3 Don't know why. They weren't expired (Aug 2007). They were just ok. Not sure what it was I wasn't crazy about. I gave the other 2 bags to DH. lol THEN, I realized I'm demo'ing these in on 6/16. :rotfl:

I got home early too... I got to the store & found no product, so I asked if they had any in the store room & was told that the Vendor will not order any even though she had asked repeatedly... she told me it was no use staying to hand out coupons because she didn't know when or if they would get any in.. she signed my paperwork & made a note that the vendor will not order product for the store & I swiped out... I haven't called my results in but I'm wondering if I should say 'no kit' (even though they had it) or 'Manager refused entry' since she said it was no use staying... :confused3

well, personally I'd CYA, call it in, and choose manager refused entry....then email your coordinator, and tell her/him what happened. let them know that you put option 3, or 4 or whatever it is.

Good luck

OMG what a day. I had honeycome & cocoa pebbles. Sold out of Honeycomb the first hour - I still had 2 full boxes of samples..called in to make sure it was OK to keep giving out samples without product to selll.Yes. While making the call though a Jade rep stops by..first told me to get the samples off my table if they didn't have product. I told her I was calling in to get instructions from my own company. Then I have a child & parent come up to the table, I'm going thru my spiel & say Honeycomb is better tasting..the Jade rep pipes up and says to the customer..YEAH RIGHT DO YOU BELIEVE THAT LINE? :scared1: I was so aggrivated at this point, THEN the womans child picks up the sample & the Jade rep proceeds to chastise me that kids aren't allow to have samples. URGGG. I politely, thru my griding teeth, told her that the parent was standing their and gave permission. She finally moved on the the poor Hershey woman just down the aisle!!

I ran out of cups at 2:00 & still had 1.5 boxes of cereal left. I called in 2x and left messages to see if I could buy more cups. Never got a return call. My samples lasted until about 2:45. From 2:45 on I was soooo bored!!!

This WM has you sign in a vendor book. Someone signed in after me as arriving at 11:00 and leaving at 4:30. I left at 4:00...how is this possible. Doesn't the manager have to sign off all vendor forms. Oh well, I'm glad this weekend is over. I hope more jobs open up in my area soon!!!!

This is why I don't like doing WM events. It seems like the other demo people want to sabotage your event.

Ok well I did the Honey comb and cocoa pebbles today and il lhave to add that I do mostly WM and Kmart and I have never had another rep come tell me what to do or what im doing wrong. They have all been so nice. Anyway so everything went well, it seemed like people werent relaly intersted in buying the stuff altho they wanted to sample and it wasnt even that popular to sample.

Am i the ony one that runs out of cups??? I had about 100 from another demo plus the 250 that came in my kit and i stil ran out with about an hour plus to go. I have also learned to fill those puppies to the rim but still run out. I decided to try handing out the honeycomb on a napkin ( i was out of cocoa by then) but i only did about 7 of those, it had disaster written all over it. I didnt bother to call i and ask about more cup scuz i did that last time and they wre liike " did you fill them as stated"...uuumm YES!!!, its not my fault you guys send a measly 250 cupz for like 6 boxes of cereal. !!!(well i didnt say that and i was alowed to buy). Anyway didnt sell out, so i walked the store really slowly and then had a while to go so i had the manager sign me out and i waited for 4pm to swipe out. Theres no ues in standing there when you dont have any brochres coupons or anyplace to serve your demo. Lukcily i only had about 1/2 bag of honeycomb left.

I am getting tired of not having everything there to do events. If its not low product or not restocking my product for my event, its a bad count of some supplies. This is the 2nd time i run out of cups.

Dodukes, I ran out of cups yesterday too. Then started on some I brought.

Tlstyxx1: Sold out of Honeycombs in first hour? :scared1: Wow. They didn't have any in the back room? They must not have had much stock - unusual for cereal. Sorry it got boring after that. And knowing me, I would have said something really nasty to that Jade lady. I'm not good at biting tongue. lol

There were 3 kids today that wanted samples. I said get your mom. Ok'd it with mom & she leaves. Those 3 kids proceeded to quickly eat 5 samples eat (one hand ofter the other)....I finally told them they had had enough. Granted my samples were 1 chip each...but I wasn't going to have enough if the 3 of them were going to "do lunch" at my table. Besides, mom obviously wasn't going to buy any since she wasn't even around.

Woke up this morning & I was sick (still not feeling well), called the TMT weekend line & between coughing to death told the person i wasn't able to do my event today & she asked why? Told her I was sick & then she asked if I knew anyone else who could do it- asked if it could be anyone & she said no had to be an employee- advised her I didn't know another person who worked for TMT. She was not happy & I have a feeling my TMT person isn't going to be thrilled either. Hey I am sick what can I do? So far i've done 3 events for TMT & I hope they don't fire me.

I did the Yoplait Whips at WalMart today (and will be doing the same at a different WM tomorrow) and while the event itself went just fine I ran into another MC person doing the Honeycomb demo. She was very nice but it is amazing to me that others do not follow the rules. She was not dressed properly--no hat/hairnet/bouffant and a white v-neck sweater-no collar and she came in late/left early although she did wait to make her check out purchase because I mentioned that I had heard about others being docked for being short on the hours--instead of actually doing her demo longer she picked up a few groceries to take up the extra time. She actually told me that when she does an event at Kmart she takes off in the middle and leaves for an hour or so and goes to another store and does her grocery shopping and that all the managers know and don't care!!! I am just shocked that people abuse this position so blatently. I think the worst I have ever done was took a bit too long for a break and took home a can of Diet Coke Plus because I did not see it in the bottom of my cooler. Is anyone else tempted to call and report the abuse of the job by another employee? I wouldn't mind not having her around as in our chats I found out that we are competing for many of the same stores. Well I guess I am just an overachieving rule follower--I can't even move my car around in my driveway without buckling my seat belt!

Yes luckily now i know to bring all and any soufle cups i have at home. Anyway back to my point, i really hate when people just make unch of my table, i know it shouldnt bother me and sometimes if i have plenty and its near the end i encourage a couple of samples, but sometimes im really short. I have to say I have a hard time saying no to most of the kids at the one walmart in particular because its not a high paying area, this one WM is in homestead and its mainly a (well theres a big group of people there ) but mainly immigrant mexicans, and you know most of them are not making much just from the way they shop (boxes upon boxes of ramen noodles and walmar tbrand anything) so i kinda feel like w/e take all you want..lol...thats probably the only time cept at school they have name bradn cereal or yogurt or w/e it is that i am handing out. So i have to say taht the more i do these events the less it bothers me. Now rude adults and those snatching like its gonna run out, now THOSE bother me!!!

The one i had today picked up the cup, tried it, and put it back in its place, oh no to omuch sugar....uumm hello theres a trash can right htere!!..

Leaves for an hour to go grocery shopping elsewhere? OMG!!!!!!!!
:sad2: :sad2: Not to mention the other stuff she does / did too. I think she's our winner so far.! WOW!!!!
