Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Hello Warriors!

I went and did my first hill workout last night with the running group. I actually liked it! This hill is 1/2 mile to the top and I almost managed 3 times. So 2.75 miles for me in 40 minutes. Not bad considering 1/2 of that is all up hill!

Hello.

Did my hill work at Mount Trashmore 4 miles in 56min 50sec. Some of that doing something I don't normally do.......jog - ugh. I was being chased by lightening :scared1: !!!!! Then I knew I wanted to get the 4 miles in no matter what and could feel the rain coming and the last part of the 4 miles is down hill. The drops started a coming so I jogged/ran down the hill to get to my car!!

Add 10min of foam roller when I got home.:surfweb:

-Tracy

headed back to the gym today to rack up a few more miles by popping on the bikes and TM, total mileage 9.3 (3.1 TM, 6.2 bike) followed by 5 min stretch= total time 65minutes. Also did 20 mins of foam rollering yesterday at various times to squish my thighs.

Total miles for the week: 24.2, total time: 255mins :)

(im sowing the seed for a trip to WDW in march...now why would i pick that month? princess: :rotfl: )

Kate: Too bad the trip couldn't be in January??

I got in 2.30 miles before the downpour - yikes!

I wanted to get in 4 miles. I may make up the other 1.70 tomorrow.
TIme was 33min 8sec.

Nothing to report for the last few days. I seemed to have pulled something in my back.

My weekly totals are: 7.52 miles and 117:11 minutes

Yesterday was just 30 minutes of tennis
Today was 4 miles plus some strength training for 60 minutes total.

Total for week =

24.33 miles
8:40 total of exercise

Hi Team--

I ran a 5k today (double those miles, WOO HOO!)

It was definitely a last minute thing. I saw the blurb in the paper last night, and it was literally around the corner from my house, so I just HAD to do it, right? :rotfl2:

Just as I was leaving for the race, my 9 year old son decided to run it with me. I was so incredibly proud of him. He is an athlete, sure, but he has never tried running just for the sake of running. He had on regular old beat-up sneakers (cause who buys their kids expensive running shoes?)...and get this, he WON the kids' race! He is hurting now, though. Took a lot out of him. But he is super proud of himself. He did the whole 5k in 36 minutes. That is slightly better than 12 minute miles. And his legs are only half as long as an adult's!

I did fairly well also. I came in second place for the women and 5th place overall.

Don't get excited...it sounds way better than it is! Today is the largest, most popular race in the entire state (our own PrincessRunner is there now!), so all of the "real" runners do that race! So, there were just slow pokes like me out there who didn't want to be humiliated at the "big" race.

Still, as the WISH motto states, I had the courage to start and I finished and that is really the victory here.

After the race, I had to go straight to my tennis match. So...here are my totals for the day:

6.2 miles
2 hours (30-minutes for the race an a 90-minute tennis match)

Erika- that's absolutely a fantastic result. Both you and you're son did brilliantly! Poor little sproglet, he's going to HURT.

Barb- i hope your back's ok, even without the last couple of days your week totals are great,

Tracy- i kno i wish it could be jan but don't think that's workable. Hey march is better than never! Good effort planning to make the miles up. It's annoying when you don't feel like you've done what you set out to. You've had an awesome week!

Amy- more pilates? You're a star, and soon (if not already!) you'll be a really bendy star!!!

jeff- whoop for 2.5 more miles!!!

Michelle- you should feel very proud. Either you have extremely good motivation or you're a crazy hill lover! So totally impressed with your workout :thumbsup2

Stacie-yay for getting back at it. You're doing great

Roxy- another fantastic run, great time.

I ran 3.5 miles this morning in 30 mins which seemed faster than some of my runs recently. Also 10 mins stretching. This was followed by a fundraising trip to a supermarket for my friend. She's running chicago marathon for children with leukemia and needed some more tin holders. Spent 4 hours standing really still so my container didn't shake and smiling at random strangers. Suprisingly fun! Kids are so cute when the get stickers

Kate: That was a nice thing to do for your friend. My friend ran Chicago last year when people were dropping from the heat. I think this year is supposed to be better.

I just made up my miles. So I completed 1.70miles to finish off the 4 I was suppoed to do last night before the downpour. Time 25min.

I hope to get some swimming in later after the sun goes down some.

Later....

Hi everyone. Hope you're all enjoying the weekend. Quick drop in:

Jeff and I went out this morning - he had 5 miles on the agenda plus warm up and cool down... so off we went... 90 minutes and 5.5 miles for me, he did 6 miles. He was running 2 minutes, walking 2 minutes... so being my body just wasn't feeling any kind of speed today, I walked at my own pace, and when he ran he ran ahead for about a minute 45, and then turned around and ran back to me for 15, then we walked together for 2 min. It worked out really well. We both got what we needed from going out, and had the company too

Have a great weekend!!

OK I'm back... 30 min of working out in the pool!!

Good night Warriors.

Hi, was able to get my 8 miles in today after waiting for the rain to pass over.

8 miles in 1hr 58min 5sec. DId about 8min of stretching afterwards.

Take care WARRIORS!!

happy sunday warriors.

I'm just back from the gym and have done 80 lengths= 1.24miles it took just under and hour so say 55 mins. I spoke to the guy at my gym who runs a running club and he was very encouraging. He promised i couldn't get lost as we get buddied up so no-one's on their own. That's what put me off the other one. Hopefully will see what it's like on tuesday

oh edited to add: fab effort tracy.... 8 miles whoop whoop!

Thanks Kate, sounds like you may have found a good running team!!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a Fabulous weekend! Great job to everyone, just for being you!

Wanted to add to mine and Jeff's totals on Saturday - we walked 1/2 mile more - opted to walk to dinner instead of drive. We did some casual walking yesterday around the outlets, but didn't track.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning... Jumping in to post activity for the weekend.

Saturday...C25K W3D2. 2 miles, 33 min

SmileyK8 Me? Bendy? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: Hardly. Although I am hoping the pilates will help with that.

Tracy What exercises do you do in the pool? I'd be interested in adding this to my routine.

Stacie Great job with C25K! :cheer2: :cheer2: We'll get through Week 4 together this week! :goodvibes :goodvibes

total of 4.5 miles/1.5 hours yesterday for me, mostly walking, and pushing DD in the stroller through sand and seaweed! That did include my intervals for C25K though, which went very well.

Have a good day Warriors!
