Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Wow lily i'm totally amazed by your stats! Well they'll give us a def needed boost in the tables! You've been doing brilliantly and it's about time we can give you some credit and cheer for you.... wahoo :yay:

CARRIE--thanks for all of your hard work! We appreciate YOU.

LILY--welcome back! Your miles looks great!

JEN--I continue to be in AWE of you! What a great role model.

KATE--Glad you loved the new group! I don't think I am ready for a group! :scared:

JIM--totally jealous of the diving! I love to SCUBA, but not in Maine! Once have been in the Keys and Caribbean, then you just can't dive in Maine anymore.

Yesterday was a lighter day...

4.2 miles and 65 minutes with some stretching and core work.

I should have some good miles to post later today as it is a biking day. And tomorrow...Yikes! Tomorrow is my long run day and that always just scares the hell out of m....

Keep going Warriors! I am so proud to be part of this team!

~Erika

By the way....I have posted this on other threads here on the WISH boards, but I thought I should post it here as well.

These are my Before and "In-Progress" pics. I say "in progress" because I still have about 10 pounds to lose. This is after 5 months on the WISH boards.

THANK YOU ALL for all of the help, support, and encouragement you have given me so far. I never would have gotten here with this team!

Erika - OMG, you have done great! I know I am always bowled away by your work outs, but it's so great that you can see teh results! WTG!

Lily - Thanks for the work outs! SO good to see you here again!!!

Amy - FOrgot to tell you that I am so glad that DD is better. How scary!

Thanks to all teh comments on my traithlon too. Ran out of time to catch up with everyone yesterday.

Really, it's not a big job if you do it weekly. Life just got a way with me. DIdn't mean to throw myself a pity party here yesterday, I just felt bad that i ha dnot been keeping track of lost team mates.

OK, did 60 min of yoga at home alst night. Very hard to do at home listening to a CD. Must find a way to make it easier.

Carrie,
I am so so so sorry that I have been neglectful in my posting. This time of the year is one os the busiest for me. Anyway, here are my last three weeks totals (not much but hey anything is o.k.):

12 miles - 2 hours
16 miles - 2 hours 40 min
10 miles - 1 hour 40 min

Howdy Warriors!!! Hope everyone is having a great week!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday 6.30 mile run 1:01
today 6.39 1 hour (little cooler this morning)

Tonight I ran 4.54 miles in 43:18

BTW - Erika - GREAT pace on the bike !!!

Hi Warriors,

4 miles tonight in about an hour. I think I averaged about 12 min/mile during my W4 C25K intervals. This included some killer hills on an overpass to cross the road. I didn't really plan on doing 4 miles tonight, but when I completed my warm up and intervals, I was surprised to see I had gone 2 miles! So I had 2 miles to get back home, which i used as a nice long cool down.

Erika you look great! I wish I had taken some before pics!

 to all Warriors!

Walked another 3 miles this morning with the crew while dropping Emma off for the bus. Feeling pretty happy about it, but must admit I was already talking about sleeping all weekend when I got up... got a little lazy with the wake up time over the summer!

Erika- You look great! Looking pretty sporty in your after picture!;) Looking back on it, would the person in the first picture have thought you would ever look like the second one?! (Not to imply that you looked bad in the first picture- it's just that you can see the all-over lifestyle change and confidence, kwim?):woohoo:

Hope everyone is doing well!

Jen in GA

Amy - WTG on getting those miles in with all that nasty hot and stickey weather!

Tracy - DL shoudl eb a piece of cake for you with all your hot weather training. Great job!

Jeff & Stacey - SO glad you guys are getting work outs in regularly again. SO hard to get back in teh habit!

Great job warriors!

I di dnot work out last night. Was shopping for b-day presents for SIL and 3 nephews until 9 pm. Ugh. It's a bit cooler tonight. Hioe to actually run. Woo hoo!!!

I forced myself out to do my LR yesterday. 9 miles in 2:20. I ended up walking the majority of it as it was 92 outside and I think I ended up with a little heat stroke or something. Was a very bad afternoon. Not too mention, my knee. At one point it felt like someone had stuck a needle in the back of my knee. It hurt for a minute and then went away. I didn't think too much more about it and finished my miles. Then, my running group was meeting last night, so I went ahead and met up with them. Since I had already done 9, I told the coach I was just going to walk. Another 2.5 miles in 40 min. That's a total of 11.5 miles for one day! That's huge for me. But then, last night, my knee really started hurting. So I iced it. This morning, it's just as bad. I've already taken some advil. I sure hope it's nothing bad. I'm going to DL for the 1/2!!!

Michelle - Please be careful. Heath stroke is nothing to mess with. Lots of liquids and take it very easy in the heat. Hmmm....WHen I have hammy issues the back of my knee hurts. More constant than a stabbing pain, though. :confused3 :wizard: You likely still have at least 1 long, long run left. However, it's better to rest and try to get better. That's #1 importance right now. You'll be ok. MfM suggests 3 days off and try again. If you MUST work out, do some XT that does not hurt.

Thanks Carrie! I thought I had done everything right...made sure I was hydrated before, kept taking small sips during, even made myself a loop so I could stop back by my house for a refill. Not sure what happened...

But, we are flying to Idaho tomorrow for DH's family reunion. So that is good timing. I probably won't be able to get much in this weekend anyway, so I will have the time to rest it until I get back next week!

Thanks, everyone, for the compliments! I feel so much better these days, that is for sure.

JEN--I used to be a trainer back before kids, so the "berfore" pic person was miserable knowing that the NOW pic person was hiding in there!

I had scheduled a 9.5 mile run for today...and it didn't happen. Only 5 miles! Argh! I had my kids there (I was on the TM at the gym due to the rain) and they were HORRIBLE and I just had to pull them out of there.

There is no supervised child care in the summer (and they are too old for it anyway), so they are allowed to just hang out in the kid room until I am done. Well, they just fought like crazy the whole time and finally it got bad enough and embarrassing enough that I just had to get them out.

I am trying not to blame them...it has been raining for days and it is boring for them at the gym, so they are just crabby. They are mostly great kids, but today was just not a good one for them. They knew it was serious when I just stopped the treadmill and told them to get in the car. They were SILENT on the ride home.

QUESTION FOR THE TEAM: I have my first half in 6.5 weeks (Sept. 21). I am still extending my long runs for the next 4 weeks before I start to taper. What do I do now that I missed my long run for this week? Do I try again tomorrow? (which is a scheduled rest day) Or do I just go on as planned and wait until next week for my next long run?

The 9.33 miles that I posted last week was my longest run to date, so this distance stuff is all totally new to me.

Thanks!

Erika

Today = 5 miles; 60 minutes with stretching, etc.

Erika - Just forget the missed run and keep to the schedule. It happens and it will be fine. Messing with the schedule too much may give back to back runs that are hard on you. If oyu are afraid this will hurt you mentally for teh next LR, then you could try your LR tomorrow, but make sure you rest the next day. Cut out a short run if you need to. You shoul dbe fine just continuing on, though. SOrry your kids were experiencing acute cabin fever. :grouphug:

A 45 minute open ocean swim today. I think it was about .8 miles with a .6 knot cross current. I cannot swim a straight line to save my life, so I REALLY have no idea how far or fast I swim.

I guess I will find out for real in September @ the Disney (Actually AFAC) Tri...

Erika oh my goodness that's proof of some hard work! You look great!!! Ok warriors i declare erika our inspiration of the week :goodvibes

I'm just in from a 8.05mile run! It took 1hr 15mins,but this time there were absolutely no walk breaks so i'm thrilled. It band started twinging away at about 6 1/2 but i've rolled it out so hopefully it'l calm down by tomorrow. Stretch and foam roller time was 15mins.

Total for this week= 19.79 miles, 275mins (tomorrow's a rest day)

Evening all!

Went out for a 30 minute, 2 mile walk/jog this morning. We are all getting ready for a 5k on Sunday. This will be DD's first organized event. Should be interesting!

Went over to the trash heap and did 4 miles in 59min 41sec. Add to that 10min stretching afterwards.

Tracy
