Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

I am out for today. Hit my knee on a coffee table at a car dealership and got a hard knot. Went and got it checked not broke but bruised. Puts me out for today. I am sorry. :guilty: But here is a big go team.:cheer2:

Ouch Roxy, no need to be sorry, just take it easy and heal.

Today I did 5 miles in 86 minutes. Week 4 (my week 1) of Bingham training DONE!!!! Thank you all for the kind words of welcome and support this week, I needed and appreciated it.

Hi everyone,

Still feeling pretty sick, but at least I'm not in bed like last weekend. Managed to total 4 hours 'other' exercise this week. Next week back to running and walking.

Hey guys!!! Took Friday off, but walked 4 miles today. 1 hr, 10 min...

Stacie

Oh jeff and roxy big positive healing vibes to both of you :wizard: Be careful and look after yourselves= number 1 priority!

I jumped on the treadmill today and wondered how far i could run... 8.7 miles 92 mins (incl warm up) I know it was naughty, especially as it was my first run in new shoes, but it felt ok until the last mile or so. I'll cut it back down again now :rolleyes1

Come on walt's warriers! Think long and strong :rotfl:

ok as this is def going to be my longest run of the week, carrie please could you add this one to this lily fund?

Ran my F I R S T full marathon today. 26.4 miles (Since that's what Mr. Garmin said, I'm going with that) in 5:10:00

I'll post a short (maybe) report separately a bit later......

Huge congrats Jim!!!!

Summing up last week now. I am happy with my 5 K. There's one mile up teh "5 mile hill" (OK, so the natives exxagerate, but it's a heck of a hill). It keeps teh speed low, though. SO, I was proud of my pace. I ran it like speed work , which I need, as my marathon times keep going abckwards. ANyway, it was fun. I'll try to get pix posted. My Ice Fest 5K pix should eb somewhat different from teh other WISHers who raced in GA< FL adn HI. ;)

So proud of everybody this week.

Barb, gotta' say you made quite teh come back for your first week! Hope you don't burn out!

Jeff - Hope you are feeling better this week!

Roxy - Ouch! Hope that knee's ok!

Got to get off teh computer, so forgive the lack of shout outs to everyone!

Sunday I worked out for one hour with my trainer - 20 minutes (1.29 miles) of interval training on the treadmill followed by 40 minutes of stength training - arms, legs and core.

Good Morning!!! So, Yesterday (Sunday) I had my personal best 3 mile time!!! I did 3 miles in 35:46!!! :woohoo:

My total was 4 miles and 1 hr w/ stretching and all... I posted this on the Weekly thread, but thought I would share here too...

Yay Jim and Carrie on your races!!! Way to go. :thumbsup2

Ok...Yes, so yesterday was good day...Today did not start off so well... After the run yesterday, oh, yeah, and it was raining... my shoes were dirty. I took the off on the porch and accidentally left them there. Since we were planning on going straight to the gym tonight, I asked Matt to get them off the porch and I was going to wear them today. It had rained last night and he said the were probably wet. When he came in the house..."They are worse than wet." What??? "A cat SPRAYED on them!" WHAT!!! :scared1: You're kidding me right??? I could not believe this! I was so mad!!! :furious: Where is the "I'm so mad I could spit" smilie??? I just started crying. All the trouble and time it took me to find shoes and now these are all messed up! I don't have the $$$ to go buy new ones, but I don't really want to put these on my feet again! I hate to throw them in the washer because I'm afraid it will mess them up. The last time I did that on a pair of athletic shoes, the rubbed my heal weird... Ugh! We DON"T have any cats!!! Yes, this is partly my fault, I left MY shoes on MY porch, but the cat is NOT mine. We continually have these random cats at our house. When get home from work and we pull in and at least 1 cat per day scatters from under the porch or beside the garage... Our neighbors a few houses down have cats. The continue to procreate and they do nothing about it. The neighbor people say they are not their cats...they just feed them! If you feed them...they are YOURS!!! ugh! Matt so graciously took out the laces and sprayed them w/ febreeze, but they smell to high-heaven. :crazy2: I'm going to have to try to clean them somehow, but honestly, I don't want to put those things back on my feet...

So...this is how my day started off.

Go ahead & wash your shoes. I have found that you may have to "massage" them to even out some padding sometimes, and may have to walk on them a bit, but I've always been successful when I've had to do it.

PS - do not dry them in a dryer. Let them air dry. Inside. Off the floor.

Jim- Great job on the marathon!

Carrie- I'm sorry. :guilty: I forgot to post my w/o from last Tuesday. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical for 2.25 miles. My Week 2 total should be 80 minutes and 4.99 miles.

Today was my first w/o for Week 3. I did 3.0 miles in 50 minutes on the TM.

Heather - I thoguth you had been to the gym more. Not a big deal to change. WIll do it tonight.

Just want to say that I highly recommend Jim's race report. Pix, fairly short read (which I can never do) adn stil gets all those points in that make me remeber my first full. Great job Jim!

:worship: :worship: :worship: Walt's warriors...your team is out of control (in a good way). Great numbers :). Dave, Roxy and Jim!!! Wow...you guys are crazy with the miles/hours!!! I need to know the secret for hitting a 100 mile week? Are you on that bike all the time Jim...need to dust mine off and get on the trainer this week.

Anyway...you guys are rockin'. Great workouts :).

Hey y'all! I'm back!!!

After not running (or anything else due to vacation and beig sick) for over a week, I've done 6.2 miles this weekend! (That was from two 3.1 runs.) 44 minutes the first time and just under 41 minutes today. I'm gearing up for my very first 5k in one month, so I'm really focusing on getting that time a little better. My big motivation - DH is doing the 1/2 marathon after my 5k, so I need to be done and on "Mom duty" before he has to line up for HIS race!

Jim - congratulations on your first full! That's wonderful!

Stacie - icky about the shoes! It bugs me when other people's pets leave, uh, stuff, on our lawn. I can't "stuff" landing on something I want to wear!

Roxanne - glad you're knee is better!

Susan, Heather, and Barb - great jobs!

Carrie - I'll give you a total of my miles and minutes on Friday from my training log, so don't worry about tracking anything I post mid-week like this post. And, thanks once again for keeping track of everyone. I don't know how you keep up!

OK, since I still have reading to do for my class, I haven't read further back than this page, so if I missed you, then "congratulations" or "hang in there," whichever applies, lol!
