Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Good Morning guys! Everyone is doing great!!!

Roxy- Great Job! Your time is awesome!!!

1/2marathonpixie- Great job on your 2 miles. Keep it up.

smileyk8- Wow, great job on your 7 miles. Way to go!!!

For me...Yesterday, It started raining...ugh. and it was a COLD rain and about 45-50 degrees outside. For some reason, I just had this desire to run in the rain. So, we went to Wilson for Matt's Dr's appointment. The office is about 3 miles from my mom and dad's house. I changed clothes and off I went...in the rain...on the side of the road...in grass...no sidewalks. I'm sure all the people passing by in their cars were thinking "That girl is crazy...or committed!" I kinda liked the fact that people thought I might be crazy! :) One thing that made me feel good was I could see a worn path in the grass where it looks like someone else walks/runs too. I told Matt if after his appointment, he saw me, to stop and I would hitch a ride (he wasn't too excited about me running off a 5 lane road). So...I ended up doing to 2 miles as he picked me up (in about 28 minutes) and then once we go to my mom dad's, I hopped out of the car and did another mile.

TOTAL: 3 miles, 45 minutes for Wednesday.

I must say, I normally run on pavement, and I know the grass is better for your joints, but it seemed a bit more strenuous on my calves! I actually walked more than I ran, but regardless...I got it done! Yay!

Hope everyone has a great day!
Stacie

Oh, Great Panda I was just having a little fun. Please forgive me!!!:worship:

Ok your punishment is that you have to watch Fantasia from start to finish with someone you love today. But no hugging and smooching. This is punishment not a good time.

Judge Panda:hippie:

Roxy - :worship: I am proud when I get my 4 to 5 days in.

Dave - Hope things get better at work soon! Bad work dasy stink! I know, I had them for about 3 years.

Stacie - Please be careful! That highways sounds bad. Glad you felt good, though!

Kate - Way to go on teh 7 miles!!! Woo hoo!

Hey kids-

This has been a rough week, exercise-wise for me. I had grand plans to go on a run yesterday afternoon and then the cold front came. We have huge pine trees all over our neighborhood, and if there's a lot of wind, pinecones fall like crazy! (DH had TWO windshields totally destroyed in the past- needless to say, any trees around the driveway are now gone!) Anyway, I didn't want to be impaled, so no running. Although I feel slightly guilty seeing that Stacie was running in the rain on a highway... :rolleyes1

I did however do some light weights in the house for about 20 minutes. Sad, but true. Nothing like trying to do squats while loading the dishwasher- serious multitasking!

For those of you who use dvds, what are your favorites? I'm just looking for something for the days like yesterday when it's too late for childcare at the gym, but we can't go outside! And I have serious coordination issues, so they can't be too complicated. ;)

Go Walt's Warriors!

Pinecones, schminecones...:lmao: I don't think getting a concussion from a pinecone would help us out too much in overall mileage. We need you stay healthy and out of the Emergency Room! :rotfl:

Squats and the dishwasher! :thumbsup2

Videos, I mean DVDs...Hmmm... I have a Step DVD that I never do anymore so that's no help. I do have the Pilates for Dummies DVD which I try to regularly. I really like it, when I get to do it! My mom does the Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds DVDs. I think she does the 3-4 miles. She always ends up running around the couch, to the bedroom and back... so funny! She can totally walk circles around me. She walks faster than I run.

6.21 mile run today in 1:01. The wind here is bad. We are getting ready for a cold front.:sad2: Stay well and safe everyone. Off to school parties for kiddos. Happy Valentine's Day everyone.:)

Good evening! I did 2.1 miles in 36 minutes. I'm building up slowly but it's a start.

Great job everyone, keep moving!!!!!

Good Morning all!

So last night I made it to the gym and did a 35 min Step Class, 2 miles on the bike in 8 min, just before step class and then 10 min of weight training after Step Class. Whew!

I do hope to get in a 30 min run tonight and maybe some pilates...

Hope everyone has a good day!

I am back on track after my trek to the great northwest to visit Mecca (Microsoft). On Monday we all walked to dinner together. I don't know the mileage but all told we walked for 30 minutes. Thursday I worked out for one hour with my trainer - 1500 meters on the rowing machine followed by stength training - legs only.

I did 40 min on teh TM last night. 3.54 miles. I feel like my legs go every which way on the TM. Need to work on that.

Yay, we'll all ignore the lovely wise panda and keep going so strongly.

I'm feeling rough today but did go and get some trainers fitted in a proper running shop today. I watched my foot strike on video which wasn't as embarrassing as expected! So in trying new trainers i ran for 30 mins and 3 miles. Was hoping to do a longer run but just not feelin it. Sorry guys x

Hey kids

I'm ashamed to tell you how bad I've been- nothing yesterday, nothing today. I am running a 5k tomorrow in penance (double points)! And hey, shouldn't going to a circus and two valentines' parties with your kids count?! They certainly were time consuming!

I plan on running the 5k (slowly probably) and then trying to get in some good long walks Saturday afternoon, Sunday and Monday- we'll be at the beach, so no real hardship. I'm also going to go to Target to get a few DVDs (yes, Stacie, I want to call them videos too!)

I don't think I'll have access to a computer until Monday. More time for getting in some miles, I guess!

Hi everyone. Just checking in, since I've done absolutely no running or any other exercies this week. When we got back from vacation I had a cough, which turned into something close to bronchitis. I'm finally feeling better and plan to hit a spinning class tomorrow and try to run this weekend as well. Congrats to everyone who is doing so well in their training!

Just wanted to say good luck to Jen and Jim! :cheer2: Go out ther e and have fun! If you are slower than you wish, just remeber that gives us more minutes. ;)

Cari - Take it easy when you are just starting back. DOn't want a relapse!

Go Walt's Warrier's Go.
Oh think of the double distance so every mile you run is REALLY two!!!! Have a great time Jen, Carrie (sorry i didn't realise you were racing too!) and Jim, i'll be looking out for the race reports

Did 1:12 minutes on eliptical got 8.44 miles in on that. Running club with kiddos got in 2.49 miles 31 minutes.:)

I did Walk Away the Pounds, Walk Strong, which is 30 minutes and a 2 mile workout.

Thanks for the inspiration Team!!!!

Reporting in for the week: 27 miles 4:30 time - all running

Greetings Team: I did 40 min on the exercise bike yesterday.
