Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Hey Warriors!

Kate I ended up with the 2130's!! They confirmed I had a moderate overpronation and he said if I had no problems with the 2120's, it was probably best to get the 2130's. I tried on a few others, but liked the 2130's best. Read my race report below to see the results!!

Erika I didn't know you were doing a tri! Awesome. I'd like to do one, but really need to work on my swimming.

TracySounds like disney was fun. I think those miles should count. I plan on wearing my garmin this weekend WDW.

My 5K report:

I ran another local 5K that benefited the local animal shelter. It was the first year and a little disorganized, but overall it was fine. I think there were about 120 runners in the race. This is the smallest race I have done so far. I was running with someone who was just a little bit faster than me, which I think was a good thing because I set another 5K PR!!! 33:45 (10:45 average miles), 3 minutes off my time from RfTC 2 weeks ago!!! No negative splits, we started off way too fast. I was hoping for maybe a minute off, but 3 was awesome!!! There were alot of sub-20 people running this race, so my time put me WAY towards the back, but that's ok. It was definitely a 100% effort. I had nothing left at the end. I have never ever ever run this fast even just for one mile! I had new shoes which completely seemed to help with the shin pain I had been having for the last couple weeks. So, needless to stay I was super happy with the results of this one.

This week I have a few easy runs planned in preparation for TOT this weekend!

Miles and Minutes

10/17 1.5 miles, 30 minutes
10/18 (5K doubled) 6.2 miles, 33:45
10/19 4 miles, 1.5 hours

Amy - WOW! that is awesome that you shaved off 3 minutes!! Congratulations!

Tracy -That is cool that you did that. I was thinking about doing it this coming weekend at WDW to see how many miles I actually walk.

As for me:
10/15 - 4.13 miles 1:02
10/16 - 3.25 miles 49:04
10/19 - 12.04 miles 2:12

Becky

Tracy Hey right back at you. Not jealous in the slightest your in disney :rolleyes1 that's a LOT of walking between rides!!!! Fab effort getting 6 miles in around POP too. Now i thought you were on vacation :rotfl:

Becky awesome workouts and times!

Amy glad you found the right shoes and thrilled your shins didn't hurt during your brilliant 5km

Michelle sorry about your ipod death! :lmao: did he just need some more energy?

Went to the gym after work- ran 6miles on TM 55 mins then did my first pilates class! It was 45 minutes of what initially seemed very little- then my stomach muscles realised that i wa being mean to them. Wow- think it had a bigger effect than i thought. Total 100mins, 6 miles

Go Warriors Go Warriors GO!

Happy Monday (night football day) Warriors!!!

Yesterday - 2.1 mile walk/run with my DW in 31 minutes. Slight problem - she ab-so-lute-ly HATES it. She's committed to doing the family 5k @ marathon weekend, but after that, she says she's THROUGH! She has the type of strong personality that I know when to be encouraging & persuasive & this is NOT one of those times. Hopefully she will become more comfortable as time passes and begin to like (ok, well, tolerate) it more.

Today I did 6.13 miles in 58 minutes.

Hey you fabulous Warriors!!!! I did 2 miles in 30:01 today.

Kate, congratulations on your shiny new boyfriend!!!! I hope he's a keeper.

Jim, my DH did the ToT with me last year and although he had fun he said he was done. He's my best fan though.

Becky, nice job getting those miles in.

Amy, great job, your new shoes had wings!

Have a super week Warriors!

Kate - iPod is all better now...he just needed some juice!

So I took him out for a short run! 2 miles in 25 minutes.

Later Warriors!

I did 4 miles last night.
Add 3 min warmup and 5 min warmdown.

Time for the 4 miles was 56min3sec.

Had a great massage today. I highly recommend getting some massages while doing your training for the Half or Full. They are wonderful and helpful.

how do you know what a good massage is? The last one i had left me in more pain than ever, i actually couldn't touch my thighs they were that sore!!! Are they meant to be so painful afterwards? I expected it during but not after

Kate: :wave2:

I get a full body sports type of massage with a pretty good amount of pressure. I have moments during it that I feel it!!! I sometimes call my massage therapist a monster. He is great though. I am always sore the day after, its like he does a workout on those muscles that really need it and that is usually where I will be the most sore. Then on the 2nd day after I am good. So, for me it is normal to be sore the next day. One time I had a bit knot in my right shoulder after going to Disneyland from lugging my luggage around, made my neck a bit stiff. He worked on it and the next day I couldn't even hold my purseon that shoulder. The day after that I was good and no longer had the knot. I think you need to get to know the massage person and discuss your feelings and thoughts and ask if you are supposed to be sore and such.
Good luck and maybe try another massage!! Helps out that IT band, shins and arches for me!! AlLso helps my back, seeing as how I tend to hunch while working on the patients at the Orthodontist Office.

Yesterday I did 1/2 hour of weight training at work.
