Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Barb - lol. I ret every SUnday (unless you count laundry) adn most Fridays.

Erika - 11 mpm for a half is a good pace. You will be fine. WHile it's hard to be last, don't for get the WISh motto.

DLF>DNF>>DNS

Dead last finish is better than did not finshi, which greatly trumps did not start. You will be out there while most of teh rest of the workd is home in bed. Do not worry about being slow. just get to taht finish line. If yuo run 11mpm, I guarantee you wil lnot be last. :grouphug:

3disneykids- You crack me up! You've trained a ton and will be fine! I was petrified before my first half. I stayed up most of the night, just twitching. ;) The main advice I can tell you (and we've all heard it, but I didn't follow it)- don't start too fast. You'll be so excited to be moving and then by mile 6 or 7 you'll be really unhappy... Yep, first hand knowledge. We want details in your race report!!

As for me, GoofyBaby already has a mind of his own. My due date is today, but he's a major procrastinator. My mom has been in our house for 2 weeks since my other kids both came early. Harry thinks she lives with us now. I'm thinking it's probably a good thing I haven't entered the Race for the Taste yet- probably not likely to make that one!

Oh, I have done 9 miles this week. I was going to do a 5k Saturday night, but no one would come with me, and then I realized at my new pace I might have to bring a flashlight.;)

Come out, come out Goofy Baby! Mom has a schedule and needs to start training soon :rotfl2: .

Ok, Here is my solution to the math problem. I figure that the runner will catch up to the walker around mile7. Actually the runner will pass the walker right after mile 7, but can't give you an exact time. Walker hits mile seven at 10:15 am and the runner hits mile7 at 10:17 am.

Tracy

Erika i'm thinking it's probably completely natural to be a bit nervous- i was very wound up pre-minnie run. From the immense amount of training you've done and at such awesome paces that i can't see you being anything but prepared. We'll be with you, giving you a little shove along if you get tired. Imagine being surrounded by a lime green glow- that'll be us!

Today was running club night and we did a time trial to see how everyone had improved. It was my first one so just got my bench mark for next time. All together 5.5miles in 60 mins (2.5 was at race pace) the 10 mins stretch. I love the guy that leads us, he gives us all a high five afterwards!!!!

Tonight after work I did 3 miles in about 44 min. I did not have my Garmi so just had to use a route I knew was 3 miles.
Add 5 min of stretching.

Tracy

Good evening Warriors! Tonight I did 2 miles in 30 minutes.

Erika, I did the York race last year and there is NO WAY you won't do well. I was one of the last finishers (not the last) and I am much older and much slower than you.

Jen, I hope GoofyBaby doesn't keep you waiting much longer.

Tracy, your math solution is spot on!

Kate, your running club seems very motivating. You are doing awesome!!!

I idd 4.15 miles in 45 min last night. Not stellar, but pretty good.

Hellloooooo Fellow Warriors...

Did 4 miles this morning. Time 56min 32sec, with 5min stretching. My PF is acting up a bit on my right foot. Not sure why?? I'm weighing less and doing stretching before and after walking. So, I am doing some extra stretching and using my tennis ball. I am also getting a massage today so I will ask him to do alittle more massage their.

Tracy

Hey Warriors! I did 3 miles on tuesday in 31:29 and yesterday I got in 2.5 miles in 35:12. I am hoping to get in a walk tonight.

Jen - I hope that baby decides to come out soon!!

Roxy - I hope things with your DD get better! How old is she?

Becky

Becky your pace is great! Brilliant effort

Tracy :hug:for your foot, i hope it sorts itself out. Naughty PF! You're so brave using a tennis ball- the foam roller's painful enough for me. Good work as usual tho

Carrie i'd say very good, don't even think about a negative comment after that run

Jim i have no idea about yards, but i can estimate it by your time *** you're that consistent! Big cheer for you :cheer2:

Roxy so sorry about your youngest sproglet, hope things settle down asap. You're pace seems to be getting quicker even with the hills, glad being a warrior keeps you going

Jen will you tell that teeny tiny sproglet it's time to see the world and that a lot of people want to see what it looks like!

Barb  for your walk. Yep i think i'm liking my running club. They're lovely too.

Following advice from my running club leader i headed to the gym after work to do some speed work. Did 27mins of speed intervals incl warmup and covered 3.3miles. Followed as usual by 10min stretch. I'm a bit sore so am going to book a sports massage for monday after my 10km race on sunday!

Good evening Warriors! Today I did 3 miles in 46:31 minutes.

Roxy, I hope your DD finds her way soon and gets any help needed. I'm sure it's very stressful.

Kate, a massage is a nice treat after a race. Enjoy!!!!

Becky, you sure are getting in those miles, nice job.

Jen, you are in my thoughts.

Carrie, I wish I had your energy.

Tracy, I feel your pain! I hope you can take care of it before it gets too bad.
