Hello Disboards, Today is uncle Walts 111th birthday. If Roy offered Walt to stay at Disney World for the week of his birthday which DVC resort would Walt choose ??? I believe Uncle Walt would choose the Villas at Wilderness lodge because of the model trains in the game room off the entrance lobby. Which DVC resort do you think Walt would choose on his birthday and why ???

I would say BLT, so he could have a view of the Magic Kingdom. It is really the only thing at WDW that was truly his design. Plus, being such a big train enthusiast, I'm sure he would love to see and hear the WDW RR trains every morning.

Good choice. How about any DVC resort on the Sassagoula river so he could see the tree house village at night from the river ??? Walt might love Aulani on his birthday if just for the beautiful sunset !!!

While touring the museum at Hollywood Studios, I saw a film of Walt presenting the ideas for EPCOT. It was a rough concept, but the intentions were there. A Magic Kingdom is resort may be more fitting, but I'd lean towards Board Walk or Beach Club. Especially since he's 111; he really can't do too much at the Magic Kingdom. pixiedust:

If a resort was near epcot i think it would there because that was his last big design passion he was working on .

I think he'd split his stay and do 1/2 at BLT for the Magic Kingdom/Castle view and 1/2 at BWV for the close proximity to EPCOT and to take a good look at what has developed after his time here on earth - DHS!
After all, isn't this part of the beauty of owning DVC - split stays! Woo Hoo:cool1:

I for one, "miss" him! Happy Birthday Walt!

I wonder if Walt would be happy with Epcot? What we know as Epcot (or previously as EPCOT Center) is so far removed from what Walt envisioned that I wonder if he would like what was built. I think he would like it in its own right, but I think he would be disappointed with the fact that his vision was never realized.
