Walt Disney World has begun testing their MyMagic+ system with Annual Passholders this week. Passholders who are selected for the test are given instructions to add their Annual Pass ID number to the My Disney Experience app or website; they can then begin making FastPass+ reservations and order customized MagicBands. After receiving the MagicBands in the mail, they have a certain amount of time to visit the parks with their MagicBands to complete the process.

Like the rest of the guests, Passholders can make up to three FastPass+ selections in one park per day. The difference for Passholders is that they are only allowed to hold a maximum of seven days worth of FastPass+ reservations at any given time during a 60-day rolling window, unless staying in a Disney hotel. When you use one of the days, another day of eligibility is opened up.

Passholders will still need to bring their Passholder card and ID with them if they want to take advantage of any discounts, such as dining or merchandise.

I am surprised this hasn't shown up here yet. Here's the next round of implementation.

How is this any different than before?

Previously AP holders have only been able to make FP+ reservations in advance if they'd had a previous resort stay during the testing period.

This is a massive step forward for passholders :thumbsup2

Before an annual passholder had to have a stay at a Disney resort to trigger the ability to make FP+ reservations.

I see this as the next logical step toward eventually allowing offsite guests to make advance FP+ reservations as long as they have purchased a park ticket that they can link to their MDE accounts.

I don't know about the offsite guests being able to make advance FP+ reservations. I just don't see a good method of controlling it.

The control would be that the guest would have to have a valid park ticket linked to an MDE account and could make FP+ reservations for the number of days (up to a limit, like 7) on that ticket.

It could be further controlled, while also providing an advantage for onsite guests, by only allowing offsite guests to make reservations 30, or even 10, days in advance.

Giving offsite guests an incentive to commit to their tickets in advance seems consistent with Disney's main goal for MM+.

Completely agree. I would be very surprised if that wasn't the next big step in testing/rollout.

Hi all! I am an AP holder, live local, go very often (appx 12-14 visits to the parks since October) and have had the Magic Band and running with the FP+ since about October. Been an extremely great process throughout. I have not tested the 7+ days of FP+ scheduling as that is not a need of mine, but have scheduled anywhere from 2 days out to a month out. I've encountered only 1 problem in which I was denied access, in which they immediately gave me a Rider Switch pass and walked right on through. The whole process set me back an entire 18 seconds, of which I will never get back in my life! :rotfl2: Overall, I continue to be impressed.

Every enhancement is a negative for us. This is horrible as if you do a two week stay you can only get FPs for half your stay unless you give the Mouse money to stay on property.

Why can offsite guests be able to make them every day, but APs cannot. So a 10 or 30 day ticket holder is now more valuable to them than Annusl passholders.

This plus the restsuarant charge policy is enough to push us away. Too many other vacstion choices. Plus all the menus are dumbed down, almost every one has the same 4-6 proteins.

Even this Summer we changed 5 of our days from WDW to Universal.

Sad as it used to be the greatest vacation place.

Once you have a MagicBand, you can use your AP for FP+ every day of your proposed 2 week stay. You just can't book all 14 days at once. You can book days 1 through 7 up to 60 days in advance. Once you use day 1, you can then book your selection for day 8. Once you use day 2, you can book day 9. etc., etc., etc.

Sorry, I look at this as a step back. Once again AP holders get treated as second class citizen.

Limiting 7 days in a 60 day window is not good.

This and the new TIW blackouts and changes are making APs worth less and less.

Exactly! I have an AP and stayed onsite for 11 days and was still only able to schedule 7 days at a time. On day 8 I could schedule the next day and so on. Not a big deal as all the times I wanted were available.
As a local that visits the park almost every weekend, I have yet to try scheduling FP+ before going because my visits are almost spur of the moment, but I do bring my MB and have the MDE ap ready to go in case I want to schedule something in the parking lot. lol Really loving the new process and look forward to having many more magical days.

But if people want to give up days at Disney and pout about it.. then take your toys and go elsewhere.

I am an AP holder DVC member with a 9 day on site stay coming up at the end of March. I just scheduled our FP yesterday and I was able to schedule all 9 days without a problem.

.

It's new for local AP holders who have not had a resort stay since implementation began. I'm an AP holder and had a resort stay which gave me the MB, but those living nearby who haven't stayed on site were out of luck until now.

It does seem that there has been a longer limit (maybe as much as 14 days) for guests with one continuous onsite stay.
