Here's a call out to anyone who has stayed at CH or is familiar with the area!

We're renting a car for our week, and rather than go through the hassle of checking DD's little booster seat, risk it getting damaged, etc. we're going to stop at a WalMart (or comparable) and get the cheapest 1/2 booster (you know, without the back on it) seat for the week.

We'd obviously like her to be without the booster for the least amount of time possible, so I'm looking for suggestions on where to stop between the airport and CH? WalMart site says there are locations at "8990 Turkey Lake Road", "3250 Vineland Road (Kissimmee)", and "8101 South John Young Parkway".

Of course, it's entirely possible that there's no way we'd miss the walmart on the way, and if so - great! Just looking for a helpful DIS'er who knows the area. Thanks!

if you are going toll road 417 - the exit that Disney says to use is State Road 536 West

so follow this - once you are off 417 - at the second light - instead of going straight (like you would to WDW) - you are turning left to 535- about a mile (might be two) on 535 (Apopka-Vineland - also Vineland) get in the right lane - there is a Walmart on your right (you will see Hess gas station first)

don't know if there is one closer - because you would have to get off on a toll road - and back on.

too cheap to do that.

to get to MCH at the first light (on 536) you turn right - that is International Drive.

Another thought is to have the booster seat count as your daughter's carry on and just bring it with you. I know those are pretty cheap, but I'm like you and wouldn't want her in the car too long without one. This is what we are doing next month for my oldest.

That would have been my first choice, didn't know if Southwest allowed the booster as a carry on. Maybe I'll give them a call.

The closest Walmart to Cypress Harbour is a relatively new Super Walmart (maybe about a year old) which is on Turkey Lake Road. From Cypress Harbour turn right onto Westwood Blvd. and continue to the traffic lights at Central Florida Parkway. Get into the right-most left turn lane. Go straight on Central Florida Pkwy and get into the right turn lane at the T. Turn right onto Turkey Lane Road and continue a mile or two looking for the Walmart on the left.

If you are going to this Walmart on the way from MCO to CH. Take the Sand Lake Road exit and go west on Sand Lake to Turkey Lake Road and go left (south). The Walmart will be on your right. Then when done, continue south on Turkey Lake road until you get to Central Florida Parkway and go left. The road to CH is just after you pass I4, you would make a right.

Not only is the Turkey Lake one closer (much closer, factoring in traffic and stop lights) than the one on 535, it is lot cleaner/nicer.

never been to this one - sounds like I need to go to it in May.

Many car rentals offer rentals of car seats/ booster seats. I would check with them first. We have done this before and the seat was already in the car when we got there.

Thanks - I just can't spend $9.99 a day for a $25 booster seat, you know?

But thanks to everyone for your directions and tips!
