Walmart black friday is out

I would love to get the iPad mini. There is no way we will wait 24 hours like the people do every year at our local walmart though. Does anyone know if this will be available online?

The iPad Mini is one of their "guaranteed in stock the first hour" items. So you only need to show up when the sale starts. If they run out, then they give you a card where you can buy it when they are restocked for the Black Friday price and they guarantee you will have it before Christmas.

Closer to the actual day the circular will notate whether or not the item will be available online. The BIG doorbusters are usually not available online. :thumbsup2

Good to know; I really just want the sheets & I know Targets' were available online last year but they have terrible reviews .

The problem I found with the handing out of numbers is every store hands them out differently. One store I went to handed them out the evening BEFORE and had the people come back!:badpc: How unfair was THAT?

When did your store start handing out the numbers? At the time the sale started, one hour before? How does anyone know? :confused3

My store handed them out that night. What we did was we went to the tv line first and got numbers. Then we had one person stay in line while everyone else got the other things that went on sale during the earlier event. After we got back in the tv line with our ticket.

Could someone tell me more about the one hour guarantee? Do you have to get to the front of the line within that hour to get the price OR do you just have to be IN the line within the hour (no matter how long the line actually is)??? DH will be going with me this year just so we can get two iPad minis for the kids, and he hates Walmart as it is, so I don't want to him to stand in a long line and come out with absolutely nothing. :rotfl2:

is it the newest ipad mini?

No, it is not the new one with Retina Display.....hence the great price! I would still grab one regardless...... if I was going to be near a Walmart on Thanksgiving Day. We will be in a cabin in the Smokey Mountains......so no Black Friday for me this year.....unless I can find stuff online!

We got an ipad last year (was one of the 1 hour guarantee items). We didn't wait in line at all. We got our stuff, then while during the hour, went over to where the line was, and there was a store employee handing out cards for the ipads. They only had 10 in stock and everyone else got the cards.

Do you use the card to purchase it right then and there or do you have to keep checking back to see if they are in stock and bring the card with you?

Thanks so much for the info! :goodvibes

If you read the fine print on the first page of their ad, it explains the card rules. Basically, if they are out of the item, they give you just the card, and you pay for the item that day. Once you get home, you register the card online and select the store you wish to have your item shipped to. You get a couple days to register it, and if you do not register in time, it just becomes a preloaded gift card for the amount you purchased the item for. You can also choose to get a full refund by returning the card and and taking the original receipt to the store.

I think I am truly missing something here. I looked at just about the whole ad and everything just looks like regular price to me. Cameras, tablets, laptops, computers, gaming systems, TV's bicycles, Kurigs, everything is just the price that I have seen being sold for just about all year. The only deals I see are on games aside from the junk no-name break-in-3-months electronics.

Where have you found a 32" TV for $98?!? I need to shop where you're shopping ! :rotfl: Are you sure you looked at the right ad?

So my question, how popular will the 50" TV be? DBF will be going and getting in line (I have to work till 5:30 or 6) and trying to figure out when he should go.

I think it depends on what you're looking for. If I were in the market for an iPad Mini (or two) I'd be in line with everyone else. Yeah, they've been knocked down a $100 everywhere but not everywhere is giving $100 gift cards with them. That's $200 for a $400 item that will have good resale/trade in value the following year. Great deals on phones too, you're making money on some if you planned to stay in contract anyway. You absolutely have to pay attention but there are deals to be had.

Thank you for explaining. I was hoping I wouldn't have to keep running back to see if the item was in stock so the process works for me!

This might be a stupid question, but my daughter wants an IPad mini and the ad had them listed for $299. Is it possible to put that item on layaway at that price? I always get a generous Christmas bonus but it always comes in the middle of December.

I was just checking the Best Buy site & the iPad Mini is $299 right now on their site. :cool1:

Question- if they're out and you get the card, you'll receive the free $100 gift card also, right? Should you receive it when you go up and pay, or when it's shipped to the store?

BTW, thanks for posting this! I didn't realize it was an in-stock guaranteed item for that hour. We were planning to head to Target to get it instead because even though it's only a $75 giftcard, with our redcard discount it came close enough in price to not want to deal with WM. But if it's guaranteed we'll brave it! :goodvibes
