It's our first time to stay at Hojo and thinking how safe is to walk from DL to the hotel at night (like 10pm?) Is it safer to walk on the hotels/restaurants side walk or DL's sidewalk?

I've done both. It is pretty dark on the Disney side. We always went that way to avoid that crowded crosswalk......but I probably wouldn't do it that late without hubby. :confused3 It did seem "safer" on the restaruant side simply because there are more lights, people, etc.

I consider it safe. You may see a homeless person or two. I have before. They have never bothered me. As the PP said, there are more lights and people walking on the restaurant/hotel side.

This same question came up a while or serveral months ago. I wouldn't worry myself. But watch something aweful to prepare yourself for the stories you will hear of tremendously orare events occuring.

My DD17 and I made that walk along the hotel/restaurant side at 2:30am one trip and felt completely safe. Just be alert and aware of your surroundings at all times and you should be just fine.

You're on a sidewalk with tourists and cars all around you. Honestly I'd think that the hotel side is less safe, because you have people turning in and out of driveways to get to/from the motels.

No worries, it is very safe.

I've done it numerous times with my daughters, and felt very safe. We do the DL side because it is slightly faster. Now, my younger daughter is a brown belt in Tae Kwon Do, and the older one is a 2nd degree black belt and has held the NorCal champion title in sparring (fighting), but that had little effect on my feeling safe.

We always walk the Disneyland side of the street and seems safe enough.

HOWEVER, my DD, 9yrs DID get hit by a car in the crosswalk our recent trip in October! We were crossing Harbor to the Disneyland side and a woman was on her phone trying to turn right on red. I walked first with my youngest 2 DDs, and as soon as DH and DD1 stepped off she hit the gas slamming right into my daughter's elbow and hip WHILE DH was holding her opposite hand! Oddly enough there was a traffic cop directing traffic (the light was out) and I yelled "She just HIT my daughter with her car!" We were maybe in shock b/c we kept on walking but the cop did go over to her car. I hope she was fined since she was talking on her phone while it happened.

Okay, I'm hot mad about the whole thing again b/c I wished I had handled it differently, as in filed a report, but at the time we were happily on our way to Disneyland in an excitement haze, then in shock and then in disbelief and by the time my rational thinking and anger set in we were at the gates and she was probably long gone..... Sorry to rant on.....

We're going back in Dec. and haven't decided which way we'll be walking.

I made the walk all the way to Quality Inn (across from the back end of HoJo) after the Mickey Halloween Party in October. Maybe because it was so late, but I didn't even see any homeless people out. There were two other families walking back to Hojo at the same time.

We have always walked on the hotel side.... and always felt safe.

There are so many other families and couples walking at the same time it makes you feel better.

I've walked back and forth over 30 different times, including by myself and have never ever had an issue
