It's time for me to rack up some miles for my WDW trip in 3 months.I doubt that I'll be able to walk 1,000 miles in that time (LOL), but any exercise helps!
Hi, I want to get in on this! I live 150.8 miles from WL. I started wearing a pedometer yesterday, and have logged 4 miles. 3 of them from doing housework yesterday LOL!
Is it too late to sign up for this challenge? I have recently made a rather lofty goal for myself- I would really love to train for a half marathon at Disney. Left me say, the reason this is a lofty goal is because I am NOT a runner- never have been, and never really pictured myself to be! However, I have recently been talking to a high school athlete that is running the half this year, and the whole family is going to cheer her on. I thought, what a great excuse to go to Disney!!
I found a running program for absolute beginners, which has you running 3 times a week, and gradually increasing so at the end of the 9th week you are running 30 minutes straight. I have done 1 workout so far, with another one scheduled for tonight.
I looked up the distance for me to travel to CBR, and it would be 1002 miles. I would love to complete that by next year's marathon weekend at WDW; looks like I need to log about 20 miles a week to do that- a challenge for me, but the motivation of Disney is powerful!!
Well, I guess I should get started- did a mile and a half tonight- I took my dog, and he sat down halfway, and wouldn't budge. Guess I am not the only one who has become a couch potato!
Sooo, looks like I am 1.5/1002. Does that look right?
That's the way to get started! I did a mile WATP (Walk Away the Pounds tape) on Friday, and it was the first 'extra' walking that I have done in MONTHS! I'm thinking that I will get back on track-----SOON! Keep up the good work! Before you know it, you will have less than 1000 to go!
