Walking to Disney Challenge #2

I love this challenge. It is so fun to see myself getting closer to my favorite place WDW. I am so glad someone thought of this great idea.

It's time for me to rack up some miles for my WDW trip in 3 months.I doubt that I'll be able to walk 1,000 miles in that time (LOL), but any exercise helps!

Hi, I want to get in on this! I live 150.8 miles from WL. I started wearing a pedometer yesterday, and have logged 4 miles. 3 of them from doing housework yesterday LOL!

Thanks!
Rebecca

Alright, adding up all miles, We may finally be on the US 31 towards the Indiana border!

Wendy

OK, another 2.2 today - grand total of 6.4. At this point, I'm almost out of my subdivision LOL!

I love this challenge. I mowed yard last night , but lost my pedometer so no miles :confused3 More tomorrow

Add some more for me! Just going to the corner for a walk to get milk is over 1.5 miles. Amazing how much you really do walk!

Wendy

I've been walking and exercising, so I am now at 476.5/581, or I have walked 104.5 miles towards Disney.

I am up to 142 miles! I am a few miles from the state line!

Yippee!

Is it too late to sign up for this challenge? I have recently made a rather lofty goal for myself- I would really love to train for a half marathon at Disney. Left me say, the reason this is a lofty goal is because I am NOT a runner- never have been, and never really pictured myself to be! However, I have recently been talking to a high school athlete that is running the half this year, and the whole family is going to cheer her on. I thought, what a great excuse to go to Disney!! ;)

I found a running program for absolute beginners, which has you running 3 times a week, and gradually increasing so at the end of the 9th week you are running 30 minutes straight. I have done 1 workout so far, with another one scheduled for tonight.

I looked up the distance for me to travel to CBR, and it would be 1002 miles. I would love to complete that by next year's marathon weekend at WDW; looks like I need to log about 20 miles a week to do that- a challenge for me, but the motivation of Disney is powerful!! :cool1:

Well, I guess I should get started- did a mile and a half tonight- I took my dog, and he sat down halfway, and wouldn't budge. Guess I am not the only one who has become a couch potato!

Sooo, looks like I am 1.5/1002. Does that look right?

That's the way to get started! I did a mile WATP (Walk Away the Pounds tape) on Friday, and it was the first 'extra' walking that I have done in MONTHS! I'm thinking that I will get back on track-----SOON! Keep up the good work! Before you know it, you will have less than 1000 to go! :thumbsup2

Just logging last weeks miles- put me down for 3.5 more miles, which brings me to 5 total!!

Sooo, I am now 5/1002!

On my way!!!

I doubled my miles last week, and so I am up to 10 miles now! (I am only counting running miles)- soooo, I am up to 10/1002!!!

I'm at 110, so I believe I am now in Virginia. I'll have to check that distance on my map.

Yeah--add 15 miles over the last few weeks. The weather has been great, and looks to stay that way. Am I really in West Michigan??

Wendy

Ok--add about 10 more miles! DH hasn't logged his yet. We will see where we are!

Wendy

I am adding 18 miles. Getting out of the state!
