Walking to Disney Challenge #2

After today I am at 51/620.7

I'm pleased to have done the 51 miles in my first month (goal was 50). My goal for next month (by 4/20) is 60 miles. To reward myself I am going out to see "V for Vendetta" this afternoon.

Did 3 miles today which brings my total to 21.5 miles in 2 weeks. Thats 21.5/549. Hopefully can pick up the pace as the weather warms up. :teeth:

I did 2 miles this morning. It's the first mileage I've been able to log since I returned from a 17 day tour of Israel and Egypt. I came back with an upper respiratory tract infection that has been lingering ever since. Hopefully I am about to recover completely from that and will be able to get back on track with regular mileage.

I have another reason to exercise now. In my late 40's I'm dating again after years of singleness! We are beginning to talk about marriage ... but she hasn't been to WDW since she was 16. I need to get her properly dosed with pixiedust. pixiedust: We are thinking of a WDW Land/Sea trip :sail: as a honeymoon.

I hope it is okay if I join all of you on the challenge. I'm just restarting WISH and am super eager to get started again on a healthly lifestyle. While I won't have enough time to walk to Disney by the time our trip in May I figure I might be able to walk to Hilton Head before our trip there in mid-September. I've already done 6 miles this week at least so I just got to keep at it!

I can add another 11 miles for this week. That will bring my totals to 33/545. If I can keep that average up or even increase it, I will probably get to 150 miles. Not exactly walking to Disney but it will get me well into Georgia. I will get the rest of the distance while I am walking around the parks.

Being able to go to the gym and use a treadmill has helped me chug along the past two weeks. The days I go I usually walked nearly 5 miles. My weekly average is about 20 miles. I walked 90 of my 163 miles this month alone.

Woohoo! I did another 4 miles yesterday and I'm hoping to get in another 4 today. I don't know that I'll be able to quite make it to Hilton Head before our trip there but I'll come real close!

Laurie :cool1:

I took the kids to the zoo today and got in quite a bit of walking. I was beginning to think I would not do any walking today since I didn't know how to include the kids Anyhow... 4 miles today puts me at 59.5/620.7.

On my virtual trip this means I am nearing the I-85/I-77 junction in Charlotte.

I've been exercising at Curves, which doesn't count toward my miles, and also walking, a little.

12.5/581

I want to do this too. This is a really cool way to stay motivated. I have 816 miles from my house to CSR where we will be in December. Whoo Hooo I am ready.

Well I haven't been here to post in awhile cause I went through a week or two of excuses! But I am back on track now and I will be adding some cycling to my workout so I can catch up - hope that doesn't break the rules ;)

I have now done 86/700 miles (which is really 1300 but I need a goal I can acheive).

Count me in. I have 1035 miles to get from my house to POP Century. I can't do it by the time I go on vacation because I would have to walk 8 miles a day. For now I'm going to say I want to do this by the end of 2006.

I have walked another 60 miles...that puts me at 103/1013...only 910 more miles!!!

I did 3 miles yesterday. Now I am at 62.5/620.7

Woohoo  That puts me at 10% of my goal!

I have walked another 10 miles...that puts me at 113/1013...just 900 more miles!!! :cool1:

I've walked more than 600 miles in the past 54 weeks (plus whatever I didn't count in December), 186.75 since January of this year. I have 403.26 miles to walk to reach my goal. If I continue at my current pace I should easily complete the task before I actually land in Orlando in June.

Well, I added another 12 miles this week which should bring me to 45/545. Still a long way to go. Thank goodness I don't actually have to walk there. I can drive but I am going to keep walking to see how far I can go.
