Walking to Disney Challenge #2

Right now, I have done another 14 miles for the week and I am going to try to do at least another 6 tomorrow but until then, I have 95.5/545.

I am going to try to do at least 20 miles a week for the next 7 weeks which is when I leave. That should give me a total of about 235 miles which I know is well short of my goal but it will still be quite an accomplishment.
 
I have walked another 18 miles...man I am really going good here..just 852 more miles till I reach POP!!! :cool1:

that puts me at a total of 161/1013 :banana:
 
I would love to join this challenge. I just joined WISH this past week and I must say that you guys are great!!!!!!! It is 1200 miles to AS Sports from my house here in the north. We are going on our trip in September so I don't know if I can squeeze 1200 miles into that little time frame so I will shoot for next year's trip- possibly at Easter time...

3.5 of 1,028 to AKL. Does anyone know of a reliable pedometer? I'd like to wear it daily, and not just count the miles that I know are accurate like my neighborhood park etc. I've tried a couple in the past and really didn't have much luck with accuracy.
 

I wear a SportLine pedometer daily. The model I have counts both steps and miles. When I couldn't find it for over a week I got another through the Public Relations office at work (came from the health insurance carrier). It only counts steps, and then counts only when there are 5 full strides. I don't like it.

Make sure you position it properly, at the waist in alignment with your hip. I actually clip mine to the waistband of my underwear, or if I wear jeans I clip it on the little pocket.
 
i want to join in!! :) I joined the summer weight lose challenge last week and started walking. I might as well be walking toward somewhere great!!! I am setting my goal of 844.89 to CBR by Feb. 2007. I'm very excited and can't wait to get to North Carolina!!!! (starting in va). GOOD LUCK!!!!

How do I get the clip art for the walk challenge? I need step by step help. Thanks :thumbsup2

5 more miles today on the elliptical. That takes my total to 100.5/545.
For a long time, I didn't think I was going to make it to 100 miles but I have finally done it. Let's see if I can make it to 200 before I go on my trip in June.

:cheer2: :cheer2: Whoo hoo -- 100+ miles. Can't wait until I reach that goal. I need to step it up -- lost last week due to work/flu. I figured it out that I need to walk 3.35 miles per day until I leave for CSR on 12-13. My goal is to reach CSR before that date.
 
Add another 7 miles. Now we are at 107.5/545.
 
I gone 10.5/845 miles in 3 days!!! It may not sound like a lot to some of you, but I'm just a beginner and am really syched about this!!!!! Can't imagine reaching 100 miles but I hope to be there soon!!! Deep trucking everyone!!!
 
I have logged another 9 miles in the past two days, so that puts me at 170/1013...

Great job everyone...we can make it!!!!!
 
It's obvious, but I just want to say that consistency is the key. If we all just keep going we'll get there! I try to walk at least 5 days a week. I like to go all 7, but it's not always possible. I don't beat myself up if I can't go, I know I will go the next day!

Another 9 miles added past two days. Trying for the 1/2 century mark by tomorrow evening. Whoo Hooo!!!
 
2 weeks ago I bought myself a new iPod Nano and last week I discovered the wonderful world of Podcasts!!! There are so many different WDW related ones to choose from!! So every day I've been walking to the lake and listening to one or two of them along the way. This challenge is the perfect thing to incorporate with my new morning walk!!! I'm in!!! I start tomorrow...my pedometer and walking shoes are ready!! :yay:
 
Another 4.5 miles today. That is 115/545.
 
Today, I finally passed the 250 mile marker with 251/442 miles. I'm getting close to the I-20/I-75 intersection. This has taken too long but at least I'm making progress. Best wishes to everyone who adds the miles a few at a time.
 
Question. Are we counting steps a day or just when we go on "walks" or jogging etc.? I wore my pedometer all day and walked over 11000 steps...but only logged the two mile walk I did in the morning.

Got in another 19 miles this week....that puts me at 180/1013

22.5 miles this week. :thumbsup2 :sunny: The weather has been nearly perfect for over a week here in the northeast.

I've covered 704.45 miles since 3/9/05, plus whatever mileage I didn't record in December. I only have 40 days left to complete my virtual walk, 318.65 to go - or walk 8 miles a day to reach my goal!

If I was to make up numbers for December, say an average of 1.5 miles over 31 days, I'd be 46 miles closer to completion or just 272.15 miles away from Pop Century.

Keep up the great strides everyone! :cheer2: I should cross the border in to Georgia this coming week.
