Walking to Disney Challenge #2

Well I clocked 3 miles today. Better than yesterday, I also got my mom in on this. So far 4/549. :thumbsup2 By the way what is the Minnie Marathon?
 
Miles walked = 31.5
Goal = 620.7

I walked 4.5 miles today. This was bunch for me, but I feel good for having done it
 
Back at the gym today, even with all the rain that we are having here in the South. I not only did my workout in but I did 3 miles on the treadmill. Not my favorite form of cardio but it is effective. With the amount of walking I do at work, I would say I did 4 miles for the day which brings my total to 20/545. Still a long way to go but we are making some progress, slowly. ;)
 

Wow! I walked extra this week - 20-40 minutes at lunch 3 days and 30 minutes on two occasions at the gym - and it amounted to 24.65 miles! I crossed the South Carolina in my virtual journey from SE PA, covering 538.37 miles in the past year (3/9 was my year anniversary). :goodvibes
 
I didn't make it out to the trail at the park today, so I can't count anything toward my total. BUt I have started wearing a pedometer (yesterday). Much to my surprise it said I walked 4.8 miles today. I did a few things (coached basketball game, played with the kids at a neighbor's b-day party, helped set up some tables in a dining hall) but never would have guessed I walked that much. Too bad I can't count them for myself!
 
I didn't get any miles in yesterday or today, no real excuse just didn't get to it. Oh well tomorrow is a new day. :teeth:
 
I just joined the W.I.S.H. list today, so I'm all revved up about getting fit for WDW in September. I would love to get in on this challenge. Don't know if I'll be able to get all my miles in before we go as we live a long ways away!! But I'll do my best. I have 1391 miles to walk and only 171 days to do it in!! Actually less than that as we will be traveling for 2 1/2 days to get there, but close enough!! That means I have to walk 8.13 miles every day to make it in time!!! That's a lot of walking for an over-weight, out of shape, stay at home mom, but I'm going to give it my best shot and not get discouraged. How do I get the challenge icon? I saw some instructions on the 1st page of this thread, but didn't really understand them - they looked kind of complicated.

Intrep93, just wanted to say "welcome to the thread", and hope you have great success in your efforts. I did manage to get the clip in my siggie, but I can't really say how I did other than that I followed the dierections. Re. the walking... I started at 0 miles per day 3 weeks ago. I started walking 1.5 miles per day, and have been able to do 3-4.5 miles per day already. Be patient and build up your mileage as you go along. You may not make the 1300 miles by September, but you'll surprise yourself with what you can do.
 
Thanks for the welcome. I tried the instructions for the icon thingy - we'll see if it worked! I just don't get the part about replacing {&} with [&], but we'll see!!
 
5.21 today, or 10996 steps. :woohoo:

Two laps around the building at lunch (20+ minutes) and 45 minutes on the treadmill at the gym after work.
 
I've been working out at curves, and walking some. I have walked 12/581 miles so I have 569 more to go!
 
ok this week is still young but so far I have done 7 miles. That brings my total to 22/545. I think I have just made it out of my County. Boy! This isn't going to be easy. Let's break out the bikes!!
 
I did 4 more miles yesterday. I am with Bubba lets break out the bikes. That puts me at 17.5 miles of 549. I have to admit this is a much more fun way to get your walking in. :teeth:
 
OK today I added 3.5 miles. If I am not mistaken, that brings me to 26/545. But for the week, I finished with 11 miles. I am starting to make a little headway. :banana: :cool1:
 
Slipped today and no official miles, but did a lot of shopping. :teeth: Anyway tomorrow will be back on the wagon so to speak. ;)
