Good morning Walkers.
The heat right now over most of the country where WISH Team members live is pretty bad. We have had 3 straight days of over a 100 degrees.
Exercisering in the heat builds mental toughness and strength. But you have to be careful and smart about it to. It's a no brainer but drink water all during the day. Tea, coffee and soda doesn't count. Make sure you drink water or fruit juice, the juice is high sugar so don't drink to much of that unless you are wanting to gain a bit of weight. Flavored water is good if you get tired of the taste of plain old water.
Another thing about the heat is that you lose salt as you sweat so a little salt on your food is necessary if you are not eating processed foods that are high in salt already.
I read in another post that someone had slow walk times because they were walking on grass. You can't walk or run fast on grass. There is more resistance and the softness absorbs the push off power. The push off with your back foot is where walkers get their power.
I'm off in a bit for my workout before it gets to hot, it's allready 80 ad will be 90 by the time I'm done.
Everyone walk strong and walk safe. Feel the power.
Dave
