Walkers Wanna Compare Notes??

Good Sunday morning WISH Walkers.

I would never want Erica to find out but dang it's lonely around here without her. We usually take our weekend as Monday and Tuesday together. I had to take yesterday off for my race and she had to work her 7pm to 7am shift.

She is one of my heroes. She, like any really good nurse, gives her work everything she has to give. She sleeps a lot when she isn't working and I tease her a lot about that but when you live with the intensity she does you can really burn your candle from both ends.

What has everyone been up to? When is everyone leaving for DisneyWorld. I'm looking forward to everything but the drive down. It's any where from 10 to 12 hours. I hate flying and with all the security procedures, from what I've heard, flying is not as quick as it once was.

We have monday and tuesday off together this coming week so we are scheduled for 8 miles on monday and then 14 on tuesday. The following week will be total chaos with us being at WDW but there will be lots of walking there and miles is miles.

Walk strong everyone.

Good morning team!!!

How did all my teammates do in there runs this weekend????:grouphug:

My training has been almost non-existant this week so I pledge to do alot better this week. A few things going on but hope none turn to be major.

Getting closer to ToT.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Today, I am going to get my last LSD in. The wind has finally stopped. It's so quiet here, without that constant roar! I slept in.

I leave in 10 days!!! Just 10 days!!!!

OMG We Leave In 9 Days, Is That Possible!!!

10 more days, 10 more days. If I click my Nikes together, will it get here sooner???????:lmao:

**WWDave**Big game today. Are you ready. My Pats are playing your Cowboys this afternoon at Texas Stadium (4:15 PM). Luckily, the designers of Texas Stadium were smart enough to put a whole in the roof so God could watch his other son, Tom Brady, play today. You may not need to wait for the ESPN club if things don't go right today.

Bill, dear, it's Robert who is the cowboys fan. I was just teasing him about helping him cheer for them. He was saying you can get beat-up for cheering for the cowboys at the ESPN. Closest thing we have to a home team are the Tenn Titans, but they haven't got a clue, everytime they get some talent they trade him.

Erica likes the Vikings and I like Denver.

Where you been wildman?

Dave:hippie:

Forgot to add: My plane departs in 13 days, 4 hours and 20 minutes for ToT. Hopefully the body will cooperate and I'll get some walking in before. So far, the back still rebels at over 1 mile, but I am still working on it and hope to beat the 38 mile per minute sweep time. Do you think they would let me use one of those canes with a built in seat? ;) As scary as it sounds, I'm still looking forward to this eventhough BBTO (batterred body took over), KTO (kids took over), WTO and LTO. This two day whirlwind, solo WDW trip with ToT, MNSSHP and other stuff is going to be my "rest" and try to get my head back together sabatical.

Unfortunately, the NFL office took and destroyed all the old game film and related notes. Now only 31 NFL teams have that kind of stuff.

I know you are the Cowboys fan Robert, but was just checking to see, when push came to shove, how well WWDave had your back. Based on his quick response, sounds like you better find a spot in a corner at ESPN so no one can sneak up behind you. ;)

Good morning, everyone!

I hope all you weekend racers had a wonderful walk!

While the Broncos are usually great, why, WHY are you talking football when the ROCKIES are going to the World Series after just a couple more games???????

I did my last long slow day before ToT yesterday!!! Woo-hoo!!! Ten miles, not as fast as I'd have liked (as always), but it was a good morning. Not hot, not freezing. There was a little added interest in that I had to share the path with the teams from high schools all over the region doing cross country. Gosh, I wouldn't go back to being 16 again for anything, but I had to admire the speed and grace of some of those kids! Fortunately, I got started a lot sooner than they did and I only had to dodge and duck for a couple of miles! ;)

Only one full work week left before vacation and it will be FULL!! But, that will make the time go by faster for me, so I'm going to try not to complain about it. Connie will be here on the 24th and we will leave early on the 25th!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Today I am getting some little chores done around the house and making a big pot of chili, since fall has apparently arrived! Brrrr!

See you real soon!

WWDave doesn't make a good wingman. He runs and hides when danger appears:sad2:

Connie: Enjoy the moment as the Red Sox will kick your butt. I AM NOT a Sox fan so don't blame me as Blill mentioned this statement to me.

Grrrrrr......OMG, I can't believe I can't figure this out, but I've been boo'ed and I want to put the little bouncing pumpkin in my signature and it won't work. I am such a computer idiot. I can't find it in the smilies section, but figured it I right-clicked on properties and then put the vital info between :'s, it'd work fine ........but it doesn't. Someone please help me! I keep getting boo'ed because I don't have anything to show it's already happened. I think Dave is having trouble also.....geez, must be an old age thing :rotfl:

Nancy: how'd you do?

Be sure to follow the instuctions, but when you copy the http type address, leave off the http part or just delete it once you load it.

Thanks, Connie.....I didn't even try the cut and paste thing because I have so many other big things in my siggie. I was trying to substitute the bouncing smilie, but can't make it work. I'm such a moron!

Sorry, that one is really cute, but I don't know either. The post script works though! ;)

For some reason my post is gone and I had a PM that said Jeanne sent something to me and it isn't there.

So will try to post again.

I felt good after the Baltimore half but this race was much harder than my one other experience in Allentown. Having both a variety of races going on at the same time was very interesting. When I got there racers were already compeleting the 5K and the marathon had started. The weather would have been perfect if we didn't have 20 mile an hour winds. Where the half marathon started is the 13 mile marker for the full. For 3 miles the half had its own course, the we merged with the full which was there mile 16. What I did learn is that if that elevation map looks like steep hills it is, basically from the start to mile 8 was uphill with mile 4-8 being all uphill and I mean uphill. I think I could have seen Kansas from the top of the hill. I didn't like merging with the full marathon as it become very congested and I felt like I was in those racers way. Also there were no seperate clocks for the half all the times were for the full until the end. After the merge at 3 miles, Pacer groups from 4:15 and on were passing me only after mile 11 did things thin out. My friend who was doing the race with me is not as fast a walker as I am and this was her first marathon. I decided that I would walk faster than her for awhile and then slow down near the water stops to see how she was doing. It was more an interval walk. At mile 7 water/ snack stop I was so hungry I stopped to eat a bag of chips that they had. So much better than a protein bar or goo. The first 3 miles I was pretty much on a little under 15 minute pace but after that merge it was very hard to move with all those full and relay marathon racers being mixed in with the half. Plus the wind was so gusty in place it actually blew my visor off. You also had no idea how many half marathon people were behind you. So after getting up that 8 mile hill now you have to go down which was steep at points. At mile 11 my friend and I mostly walked together to finish the race as we didn't want to lose our way to the finish line since we had fewer racers on the course now. So finished in 3:33 for a 16:15 pace. Not nearly as good as my first race which we had a 14:35 pace but I wasn't pushing to finish in that time. I do like the half marathons as I am not dead at the end. We drove home I took a little half hour nap and then went to grocery store and feel great today. After seeing how so many of the marathon racers were struggling on the course, it again makes me rethink what am I doing trying to do a marathon. What I do think would be fun is to do a marathon relay race. Those people were having a good time as they only had to each only do a little less than 7 miles. At the end I was walking with a women who was 8 months pregnant and was the last leg for her relay team. So I finished 4951 out of 5048 and I wasn't last in either all the women or my age group. I would do this race again as it is so convenient from my house.

Ok, I am sending this off again. I don't think I am going to write this for a third time.

Nancy

Thanks for the boo. I think I might have a pm I saved from last year that helped me to get it up.
