Anyone have any luck as a walk up? We'll be there Oct 8-14. I would think places would have several no-shows from ADRs, or calls for cancellations. Do they ever fill these in with walk-ups? Do you think they overbook for this reason? Or, do they just say there is no seating available. We'd be willing to wait for a table.

Depends on the restaurant. Of course with a place like Le Cellier you'll never get in unless it's an incredibly ridiculous time, but honestly if you don't try you'll never know.

We got into tony's for lunch on our first day (sept 16) with no problems. We just went to town hall when we got there and they gave us a reservation. So if you're willing to eat lunch or early dinners you might be fine.

We did not end up eating there but last month during the 1st day of free dining my family and I were visiting the Polynesian and for fun we wanted to know if Kona Cafe had a table for 3 without an ADR during dinner hours. The Cast Member said there was room, however the wait would have been 45 - 60 minutes.

We walked up and ate lunch at Sci-Fi in January. We had a party of 4 and if we were willing to eat at the umbrella tables in the back instead of a car we could be seated right away. So we did!

Not sure about how they fill vacancies, but I called last week to change an ADR at Chef Mickeys and ther was nothing available for the entire stay Oct 1 - 11. I guess it is due to the recently added free dining from disney visa rewards. You may try calling every day to see if something opens up. Best of luck to you!! :thumbsup2

Tonys is one place I'm looking for. I want to do dinner on our arrival day, so I couldn't check with the resturaunt until around 1, 2pm for dinner times. Do you go to the resturaunt or to Town hall?

go to the Restaurant. That said, this time of year walk ups are easy to get, especially if you can eat at the "early" dinner times, such as 5:00 or so.

We went to the restaurant first and the host told us to go to town hall. Though we went in the morning because we had an early flight and were starving. I don't know if it's better to go to the restaurant if it's later. But right outside town hall they have a sign that says what's currently available for the day.

There have been quite a few good reports lately about lucky walk ups. A few have either walked up to LeCellier or seen walk ups accepted.

If it were me trying to walk up I'd go to the restaurant right when they open to check for openings that evening.
