Hi guys! I'm trying to see if anyone has had any luck doing a "walk up" dinner reservation for BOG during their trip. We are scheduled to arrive on 10/31 and while I know that the restaurant is open during lunch time as a quick service dining experience, I am dying to treat my daughter and mother to dinner there. We were lucky enough to get picked for a test last December and didn't have to wait in line for lunch and we fell in love with the restaurant.

Any tips that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

We were there the last week of August and it was our last night for MK. It was lightly raining and about 6ish. We went back and just asked if there had been any cancellations. The first lady told me yes and it would be a 45 minute wait. Then we put our name in and she said it should 25-30 minutes. We didn't even wait 5 and got seated!!!!! I was so excited and it was so worth it! Great good, great atmosphere and my 9 yr old loved the beast!! I think it depends on your party size, time of day and weather!!

I would do a walk up as a last resort because there's no guarantee that you would be able to get in. Some have been successful, others have not.

Start checking online multiple times a day to see if something comes up. At this late date you'll be looking for a cancellation. Because of the credit card guarantee, people will cancel if their plans change to avoid the financial penalty. It will be a matter of luck that you are on line checking when a cancellation re-enters the reservation system. You can continue checking even aftger you arrive at DW.

You can also subscribe to the cancellation thread for November:

Since you're arriving on Oct 31 which is a Halloween Party night, reservations will be limited. If you are not going to the party, your reservation will have to be before 7:00. If you are planning to go to the party, most people don't recommend eating dinner during the party since that's a waste of party time because there are so many party exclusive activities to enjoy instead. However, here's the October cancellation thread:

We did in April. We showed up around 3:15 and we were seated right around 4PM. No issues. It was wonderful - the staff was "fresh", we got to meet Master when he came out (beast) and the service was definitely the best we got in the entire parks. We had a ton of fun - we asked for a picture with "just the kids" (as in, just the kids with Beast) and he started to walk out of the sitting room area - the CM's played along and explained to "Master" that we meant that we wanted a picture of the children with just him, not just the kids in the room. We had a really great time interacting with him and they got lots of photos with our photopass.

There have been mixed reviews here on the restaurant boards, and I know they get busy. But it was one of our top restaurants in the parks. Food was amazing. They accommodated our daughters allergies, even for dessert. I got to try the grey stuff.

Our other "great" restaurant was Splitsville of all places. It was fun and fantastic. We also did Cindy's table and we felt that Cindy's table didn't even compare to BOG for us it just was very routine.

We also did Akershus character dining and felt it was horrible - we had some pretty bad mishaps there, and it was a birthday meal for my DD. The only thing I can say about Akershus is that we loved the Ariel there. She was pretty amazing and we really liked her. She came by twice and tried to make sure to spend extra time there with my kids (we were celebrating my daughters birthday), and she took some special time with my little boy. She came up with some super cute things to say to him on the fly about his custom shirt and she was pretty witty. I liked her.

BOG as a walkup early in the day for dinner was GREAT! Try it, it is worth it.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I will definitely try the walk up option and also the ADR cancellation thread :) we are only there from 10/31 to 11/4 and doing the Halloween party on the 31st so the only other day that we will be at MK is Sunday so my options are limited. Crossing my fingers!!!
