Walk from one end of DTD to the other?

Is this possible, or is it too large an area? I have to admit that this is one part of our trip that I haven't researched well. Thinking of going there from HS after a 4 p.m. close. Do we need to pick a restaurant close to shops we want to visit, or is it pretty much walkable? I do see what looks like a boardwalk between Characters in Flight and Paridiso 37 or, would we take what looks like a sidewalk around Pleasure Island?

Thanks.

Most guests walk it.
Also, there is shuttle-boat service for at least part of the day & evening.

It is absoultely walkable, but be warned that all the construction has made the walkways very congested, so budget a little extra time to get through the people if you are trying to make an ADR or anything.

It shouldn't be a problem to walk it unless there's mobility issues involved. I can't vouch for the construction impediments however. We plan on going to DTD our first night, so hopefully we won't be too inconvenienced by all the construction walls. Between DTD and Westside, there's plenty of restaurants to choose from, so whatever trips your trigger :thumbsup2 They're all pretty close to shops.

It's about a mile from one end to the other, so, yeah - it's totally walkable.

We walk it. The majority of the shops are in the Marketplace, with a few in the West Side, but I would pick a restaurant that appeals to you most. It won't be too out of the way.

I think the construction has stopped the shuttle boat. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. :)

Totally walkable..But I ditto the pp about the construction. We went down there one evening in May and it was extremely crowded due to the construction walls. Made walking together as a group or at any speed difficult.

I think one of the docks might be down for construction, but we took one a couple of weeks ago. I just don't remember which stop it was.

It's very walkable for healthy, able-bodied people. My dad has a limp and hip issues (not requiring a wheelchair but enough to bother him) and between the construction, crowds, and heat, he had a miserable evening. I will be honest...DTD is horrible right now. If you can avoid it, do so! You can find toys, Legos, Disney merchandise, etc. anywhere else. Nothing there is DTD specific (except for maybe some artwork?) but the headache is not worth it.

Right now the shuttle boat only goes half way. It goes from West Side (near House of Blues) to the Pleasure Island dock. You cannot go from the Pleasure Island dock to the Marketplace.

Just got back on Sunday night. We could not find anywhere to park at the Marketplace or Pleasure Island and had to park at West Side, but we wanted to do lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express. Our family of three including a four-year-old all made the walk with no problem. As others have said, there is a lot of construction which really congests the walkways in areas, but that was the only issue we ran into. Well, that and the fact that it was 400% humidity.:lmao:
