After reading all of the horror stories about moms and kids RACING and SHOVING to be the FIRST to "wake up Tinkerbell" at the shop in FL,
I figured that things must have finally gone "over the deep end" (or worse) at MK.

Well, we were at MK in the early mornings (EMH, and otherwise) several days between Jan. 25 and Feb. 4, 2006 and I made a special MISSION of looking in at the shop to see the "ZOO" that had been described.

But...

N O T H I N G was going on any morning we passed by, first-thing.

The shop doors were all standing open, but there were:

No hordes of little girls clawing to be the first to awaken Peter Pan's little helper.

No shrieks from moms proclaiming their sweet offspring "MUST BE FIRST"!

No "pile-ups" of kids, parents and CM's trying to sort out a melange of misunderstanding and confusion.

No... NOTHING!

Tink's shop was basically EMPTY and remained that way for many minutes as I surveyed it.

We walked on to ride Peter Pan and the rest of FL, but I was relieved to see that somehow "things were still right with the world" and not EVERY DAY was "SMACK-DOWN at Tinkerbell's".

My DS woke Tink up last summer and only one other mother/daughter walked in while we were there. We met up with some friends the next week and did the same thing so their daughter could wake her. Again, only one other child walked in while we were there. The was late July/early August.

we've been lucky enough to do this and always make a point to stop in. Were you aleb to wake her up? I've never really seen it a "zoo" most people inquire as to whether she has been woken up and upon finding out she had they haul can!

HI my DS woke up TINK JUNE 12, 2005 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 , know one else in the store what a great day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

try it you never know :thumbsup2

God bless
Mary and DS ;)

I would like to know all about this also. Where exactly is this?

I learn something new everyday on these boards. I love it here!! :)

Well poop! I have never tried it cause I figured it would be a waste of time (I have all boys but one of the ADORES Tink). Now I wish we had. Hmmm I sense a trip coming on.

No one was there last June when we did this either. I told DD if a younger girl was there she should let her go ahead since DD was 11. But, since no one else was there, she woke up Tink. We had the store to ourselves. It was nice for her. Things were very different for her last summer because she grew a ton in one year and wasn't little in size anymore and looks older than she really is so didn't get all the attention from the princesses like years before. This was great for her :) It was the day after an EMH hour evening too...not sure that had anything to do with it.

My daughter woke up Tink on the first day of our trip in September. There was one other girl racing her- they let both of them do it! It was cool and she loved it! The certificate was soo cute. We will try again if not hords of crowds!

Dumb question - never knew about 'wake up Tink' - What store on Main Street in MK has Tink to wake up ?

Where in the store do you go to wake up Tink ?

We have an 8:10 AM Cindy breakfast, on a npn-EE day. I can tell my DD Tink is sleeping through breakfast and after breakfast we can see if she is awake :goodvibes
My DD does not have to wake Tink up - but it may be something special for her. I can tell my DD, if she does not finish her breakfast, then Tink will not wake up. :rotfl2:

wake tinkerbell? ive never heard of this? is it a robot fairy or something?

With a screen name like YOURS, I can't believe you don't know about ALL THINGS TINK.

But instead of me stumbling through what it is (and it really is NOT MUCH).

Just do a SEARCH on this board.
It has been discussed many, Many, MANY, times. ;)

Its not on Main Street. It is in Fantasyland and the store is called (Drum-roll) "Tinkerbell's" ("Tinkerbell's Treasures" is the full name).

Its near the carrousel over by the castle.

haha i know right....but hey you learn something new everyday! pixiedust:

I was at MK December 5th and watched several moms and at least 5 little girls running into the store. I felt very sorry for the CM's since at least 2 of the Moms were saying "mine was first" & that was with the moms several feet behind the girls.

This is the second time tonight that I've noticed someone asking a pretty basic question and being told to "search" for the answer.

It takes as much effort to answer the question as to tell someone to do a search. And searching isn't that easy. A lot of times, you search and find threads like this one where something is never quite explained.

I'd explain about waking up Tink, but I don't actually remember how it works.

We did early entry at MK one day last April. I had assumed that Tink would have already been swarmed with potential awakeners so I didn't tell the kids about it. As we walked through the castle into Fantasyland there were two cast members standing in the street. They asked the little girl with the family just ahead of us if she wanted to wake up Tink. We followed them into the store and watched. There was no one else in the store, so it was a magical surprise for us! pixiedust:

>>> search

1. I consider it OK to post if I cannot find something via search in less than five minutes. I can keep on searching too. More irons in the fire.

2. I consider it OK to add a reply with a question to a long thread without (clicking and waiting for each page and) reading all the replies already there. If you disagree, consider that the person might have begun a new thread instead.

They should change the wake-up procedure.

1. Have all the kids who arrived at about the earliest moment line up and then one of them is picked somewhat at random (eenie meenie ...).

2. Have Tinker Bell not necessarily wake up on the first try and then another kid is chosen and possibly a third.

(I have not witnessed the wake-up myself yet)

Yes, I can see how YOUR post is MUCH better.
Thanks for sharing. :rotfl2:
