waits in lines

I finished all 26 pages of the FAQ. I learned some good information.
Her are a few questions that weren't addressed.
Comparing to disney what season would the end of June be?
I've read that weekdays are better crowd wise than weekends. How does a Friday fair with crowds?
I consider Sunday to be the weekend-but in the FAQ Sunday was suggested as a good day to visit in June...really?
I'm trying to figure out what to do about lines.
I have a friend that went to Universal last spring for the first time. The first day she said lines were terrible and they didn't accomplish much and the day was a waste. I'm a planner. If we were using the regular lines on average at the end of June how long would we wait? We have a child so single rider won't be an option for us.
Is staying onsite worth it to have less wait in lines? And with the advantage of staying onsite do those line have a minimal wait or do you find it to be more walk on?
Are all the onsite hotels within walking distance of the parks or do they offer transportation to the parks? What is the closest onsite to the parks?
TIA

End of June starts to bring the heavy summer crowds( much like Disney). If you can afford to stay onsite, it is very worth it.Express lines are pretty much no waits to minimal waits( less than 20 mins).ALL 3 resorts are within walking distance.Portofino Bay is the furthest of the 3, but still walkable .All 3 also have dedicated boat service to citywalk/park gates

Sundays are usually the best weekend day to visit since lots of people leave on Sunday. When you're going during summer, most days are busy so it won't really matter which day.

The best way to avoid lines during a busy season is to stay onsite. Wait times are generally under 30 minutes with Express as compared to 90 minutes during that time without.

All three hotels are within walking distance except maybe the Portofino Bay but there are water taxis and rickshaws available for transportation. I think the closest onsite resort is the Hard Rock Hotel but the Royal Pacific is pretty close too. Check the Universal resorts board for more information regarding the resorts.

use the single rider lines if they are open.
that will cut down on your wait times.

no SRL for FJ, RRR, Ollivanders

Since when does FJ not have the single rider line? We used it in Nov. When did they do away with it?

It is a totally different park experience when staying on site. Even on busy days you don't need to rush. You can get in an hour before the general public to see the WWoHP, where Forbidden Journey does not have ep, then use ep for just about everything else in both parks. Remember that you get these perks on both the day you check in and the day you check out.

Wish we were going...

Rides with SRL are Hulk, Spiderman, FJ, Dragon Challenge, Dr. Doom, RRR(opens sporatically), Mummy, MIB. (mac probably meant to type something else).

Also, if you get to the parks a half an hour before opening, you are much more likely to get stuff done. Arriving at 11 am will make you spend lots of time in line.

my mistake.
trying to do two different things at the same time.
fj does have the single rider line.
i'll correct my error.

As stated in my original comment we will not use the single rider since we have a child with us. Thank you for all the other info.

If only one person wants to ride something, though, knowing there are single rider lines will be helpful! And hey, we have a child too but use the sr lines at least at Disney. He hasn't used them at uni yet but he goes on a couple rides alone because we don't want to ride as many times as he does, but I know the single lines are there!

We stay onsite, absolutely. And we haven't wen gone at a super busy time yet.

If you are going the end of June, staying onsite will make a tremendous difference.
