If I make a reservation on a waitlist (without reserving room on other resort), will the points be taken out from account while on the waitlist?

I would ask when you call about the reserving the waitlist. I would doubt it, though. You haven't reserved anything other than the list. Once you get the waitlist, I would guess they will come out of your membership then.

No. Points are not taken out of your account until a reservation is actually made.

If you use the "auto-confirm" feature to waitlist, you will get a confirmation letter with the reservation that is made when the waitlist comes through. MS will make the reservation as soon as the waitlist comes through.

If you use the "call first" feature, MS will call you when the waitlist comes through. At that time, you can say yes I want the reservation or no, please cancel the waitlist. If you are not there when MS calls, you generally get until MS closes on the following business day to respond. If you don't respond, MS moves to the next person on the waitlist.

Thank you for all of your quick response.

I just put myself on a waitlist for 2-bd on BCV for June 4 - June 8th (surprised that there are three types of 2db villa). Anyway, how likely do you think I will succeed?

I know I have very slim chance but just wondering..

The best chance will come 31 days prior to your desired check out date. That's when anyone who doesn't have firm plans will cancel to avoid the holding account.

I am currently on the wait list for Vero Beach from July 29 to August 5th for a 2-bedroom villa. I need seven days.

When I made my initial reservation I got three days confirmed and put on the wait list for the remaining four days. The three confirmed days they have taken the points out of my account. Since then, I have had one additional day confirmed and they have removed those points. For the three remaining days they have not taken any points out.

Sagwanamu I would strongly urge you to start calling MS on a regular basis to see if any additional rooms have become available for your BCV reservations. If not, wait a couple of days and call again.

It seems when you call MS a lot they will find open dates for you from time to time.
