Okay ME AGAIN!!!! Okay I have the last night of our vacation waitlisted for a BW view. The first three nights at BW are board walk view. She has us in a preferred/pool/garden for the last night so we would have to move. So today I called back and added another waitlist of all 4 nights at Preferred View pool/garden so if that opened up we would just take that over moving. IS THAT CRAZY TO DO??? I kept the last night waitlisted to for BW view in hopes that comes availalbe first. I just hate to have to move for one night and our last night. She seem to think the total 4 nights might come up before that one night. The nights are Monday through Thursday Aug. 20 through the 23rd. We are at SSR for our first 5 nights. ANY ADVICE???

Wow, we've never been in Boardwalk view, so my opinion is all based on hearsay. Once, ('04) in September, for a December ressie, I had to add an extra studio to the overall reservations, and my DS would have had to move twice in 4 nights, but you know, the preferred view did come through for us.

I think you were prudent, if you really didn't want to move, but I would have stuck for another month with just the one waitlist at least trying to get that last night in a boardwalk view.

Since you're looking to go at the end of August, I would say that your odds of getting a Boardwalk View are fairly good. I know that I would not want to move, though so if the regular preferred view comes available first I would take that.

I agree that your chances of getting the last night still are pretty good. I would keep the BWV and the one night waitlist. It's worth it to keep the view and move if you have to, IMO. Especially since the points are the same.

And because the points are the same, you can continue to hold out for the last night until the very last minute. We were waiting for a BW view 1BR for our first night (checking in on Columbus Day during F&W) and finally had it come thru the Friday before!
If it still hasn't come thru when you check in, the front desk may still be able to work some magic so that you stay in the same room by assigning you, for example, to a Village Green room.

Best of luck -- Suzanne

what is a village green room??

At first the MS person wanted to just automatically change it over when either came through. SO I said CALL FIRST NO MATTER WHAT. So we shall see I guess.

The rooms between the lobby and the general store have a view of the grassy area between the Inn and the Villas. That area is known as the Village Green.

The reports here on the DIS is that those are usually preferred view rooms, but that sometimes they are sold as BW view rooms becuase you can see the Boardwalk and Crescent Lake from the balcony. So, they would be the perfect accomodation for someone who is straddling between a preferred view and a BW view!

Best of luck -- Suzanne
