Waitlist for 1 night?

We are looking to book a few days in September later this month. Checking the website now it looks like BCV would be missing one night in the middle of our stay. I know a lot can change between now and when I will actually book in terms of availability.

Would you book everything that was available at BCV and just waitlist the 1 night or book another resort and waitlist the entire BCV stay? We are open to other resorts so it is not a huge deal but we would rather not have to change resorts for a short stay. I want to be prepared to book as soon as the 7th month window is open.

for a slower period like that, i would book BCV and try to get a waitlist for the one night.

of course, if things got tight after a few months, i'd probably switch to OKW for the whole stay to avoid moving but it just depends on your love for BCV vs. your risk tolerance...

We are hoping for he same thing. We need a 1bdr May 16th at the BCV and are praying our waitlist comes through. We have the 14th, 15th & 17th but are currently moving to the BWV for the 16th. We still have 90 days and the Poly is not open yet so we may get lucky or someone may just cancel. I am also stakling the website and would take BLT or VWL or the whole thing at the BWV. We have stayed at the AKV the last two trips and we stayed one night the last trip at SSR and it was horrible. We own there and I was very angry about the condition and filth of the room. So hopefully we will get one of our choices

Good luck to you too

If you want to stay a BCV I would book what is available and WL the one night. But, I would also book a backup night someplace else. You can create the WL to cancel the room you have to be replaced with the WL room you want. Getting one night on a WL is much, much easier over trying to book at a different resort and have that cancel hoping to match a bigger block of rooms at BCV that has your one missing night.

This is a tough call. How are your nerves for something like this? Me personally, I hate moving and I would probably worry that the night I need wouldn't fill, that might be enough to get me to do a split stay or just scrap the idea of BCV. But, if it is just one night, I think your odds are very, very high it will fill. Good luck with your decision!

As lousy as it is, I'd waitlist it, and if it doesn't come through, I'd pay cash for that one night.

Can you do that and not have to move?
If you are in the same room category for all of the reservations, you can request through MS that you not have to move. We just dealt with this on our recent trip. If you have to switch categories, you might have to move.

Thanks ccbloom for sharing this information. I knew you could pay cash for a DVC room, but I didn't know that you potentially could potentially pay for the night and not have to move. Great information! Back to the OP, then I would book a cash room for the missing night and open the WL too.

You're welcome! We just had to confirm with the front desk at check-in that our request to not move would be met. We still had to go down to check-out and re-check into the new reservation, but everything stayed in the room. Seriously, they didn't have to get mousekeeping in there for us, so it was a win for them!

Thanks all! I didn't think about the cash option which is good to know.

We are debating between BLT and BCV. Rights now BLT has availability. We were at BLT last year at the same time. We just thought BCV would be nice for F&W. We stayed at BWV before and didn't care for it but they have availability. I am driving myself crazy with this!

In addition to waitlist, keep checking the website. Nights sometimes pop up before the waitlist is filled.

Our wait list for a BC studio came through in about a week! Last month we randomly saw Thursday April 30 available, so we switched from BW. We wait listed Friday night but assumed we were SOL since Bc is so popular - we were thrilled to get just one night there so we could check out the pool. My husband got an email at 5pm on a weekday telling him our wait list had come through.
So hold out hope, it could happen, especially so far out!

OOP. What about OOP for the one night? Then cancel that night OOP if the waitlist comes through. Then you are guaranteed not to move.

I am going to look into paying cash for the one night if we decide on the BCV. The day that is booked is the Sunday at the start of F&W so I can see how the waitilist might not come through.
