Waitlist at BLT

We're trying to rent DVC points and currently on a waitlist for BLT. We're also considering staying at AKL. Wondering if I'd have a better chance at securing a reservation if I switch to AKL.

It all depends on how far out you are trying to book. If you are more than 7 months from vacation, the you need someone with home resort advantage so BLT owner for BLT or AKV owner for AKV.

if you are under 7 months, then it will all be based on availability as any owner would be able to reserve for you,

AKV is larger so you may have an easier time securing a room there if it is about availability.

What size room and view are you trying to get? IF standard view at BLT or the Value view at AKL...both are tough most of the year for members at 11 months let alone less than 11 months. I'm not saying it's impossible, but standard views are tough.

Also, when are you trying to go? Some times of the year room categories can go quickly at 11 months. Others they are still available at 7 months.

This is also going to depend on the broker. It may not matter if you switch. AKV is also popular. They have to have an owner with points willing to make the booking.

If your trip is the same in your signature, August 2020, it’s because your broker doesn’t have a BLT owner with points. Not because they aren't available. Try a bigger broker.

Depends on time of year.... BLT is very hard to get under 7 months.... more availability at AKL
