Waiting to Book (Thurs) or Already Booked?

Several weeks ago we booked at POP thru AAA, we asked about free dining then and the TA said they would just add free dining if they were going to have it this year so we should book now. This morning my DW went into AAA and asked the TA if she could now add the free dining, The AAA TA had no clue that Disney had started the free dining. We had already made the $200 deposit on the Disney Visa card and said we would like to have the free dining added as you said you would if Disney add it. The AAA TA had to call Disney to confirm this and change the reservations but we lost POP and had to settle for ALL Star Music which we did last year, this was fine because the dining is great and you spend little time at the Resort other then sleeping but disappointing not to get POP and just wondering if this is going to run into June and POP and Movie are already booked this may end in a week unless they have blocks saved that they may release on Thursday for those without the card and for those booking in May and June??

From Canada so no Disney Visa here. I have to wait until Thursday. I'm worried because I've finally talked DH into going but it's only if we get free dining.

Trying not to let the paranoia set in, and keeping my fingers crossed for POP standard 1st choice if not...any other value will do. Un fortunately, we cannot change our dates because airfare is already bought.

I have to wait until thursday also. I have POP booked thru AAA for
Sept. 22-29 already - I pray that we can still have that - My DH really wants to stay there. Do you think I should call my TA and give her alternate choices for values?? UGH - this waiting is giving me a headache!!!!

Already have reservations for GF from 9/10 to 9/16 with dining, booked since beginning of March. I called my travel agent today to give her a heads up to adjust with the free dining if possible on Thursday.

In addition, I have to make sure she gives me my 5% discount on the price of the package as she matches what my companies preferred travel agency charges which is 5% off retail price.

I wasn't about to apply for a Disney Visa card, I read the terms, rates and conditions, and overall, it doesn't seem like a very good card. The rates are fairly high (for me at least), the rate calculation is horrible and the rewards program is average. The only bonus was the special discounts and early booking of special events. These were not worth it to me, so I'll stick with my AMEX and just wait until Thursday to see if the free dining can be made.

At the end of the day, if it happens, bonus, if not, still going.

I have to wait till Thursday. I will be booking our very first trip to WDW. Here's hoping that we can get a week before DS turns 3 on 9/10. Unfortunately it is going to be tricky because DH has a rollout at work on 9/1.

Another both here!! Have one room booked POR 22nd sept 5th oct with UK free dining but DFIL is now coming with us too so hoping to get FDDP for him too. fingers crossed that POR is available for our dates.

I wanted to book Pop but by the time I figured out what dates I wanted it was too late. I booked last night at about 8 pm and POP was full for my dates Sept. 21 - Sept. 27. All of the All Stars were open though. I didn't know which one to take so I took ASMo.

Just went to the Disney website, and there was availability for everything, (not talking free dining) so they have rooms to fill and I would not be surprised if they release rooms in small increments to get the bookings from people who don't know better while they offer this promotion. If they don't have the numbers they want, they will release more and more rooms.

There's no way to know if the available rooms will be switched to free dining. They may offer an AP rate or just keep them as they are.

That week may be too early in the school year for some to pull their kids out. For others, their kids will be starting school that week.

We're flying home on Tuesday, September 4. My son's first day of school is Wednesday, September 5.

I can't wait till Thursday, my TA says that she will call at 7 sharp. I have 2 rooms on hold thru AAA for Sept 12 -18 at POP. I just hope that we get them. Is it possible to split stays between 2 WDW propeties and still get Free Dining ? Just might have to do that. Good luck to all on Thursday.

Kids back in school?

I am going to try for the end of September, so I can get a few days at the Food and Wine onsite. If not, I wouldn't mind the first week of September - but I'm aiming for later.
