Hello,

We just purchased a DVC on a private sale.

Paperwork has gone to the title company.

Does anyone know how long it will be before Disney gets back to us, with our account numbers, etc?

Thanks,
:cool1:

Has it passed ROFR? If not, that can take a few weeks.

I think the rule of thumb is 6-8 weeks after contracts are signed.

About a week after Disney gets the papers from the title company you could call and get your ID # and make reservations if you want. Then you'd get your owners packet in about 30 days.

My Rofr took 2 weeks to pass for BWV and I am still waiting over 2 weeks on my BC. I just recd an email today with the final contracts to sign, 2 weeks from Rofr. So now both parties have to sign and returning to the closing company. Then I understand it takes Disney a few days to get it in to the system. So I am guessing I may be dealing with another 4 weeks depending on how quickly the seller signs and returns the info too.

Yes we passed ROFR - Disney took the entire 30 days. But we passed so that's all that counts.

The paperwork was sent to the title company, so I'm wondering how long it will be for Disney to send us the final papers, with our DVC cards, etc.

We do not know who to call to get our ID number. The seller did give us the telephone number to call but I think she said you had to ask for the agent. We have the unit number can we just call with that info and they could help us?

thanks again

The member number used by the former owner might be a way to try to access it. I guess I would call the agent.

Once my entire resale deal had "closed" it was still over 2 weeks for me to get into the system in June. Finally I must have bugged MS enough that they put me on hold, called the lady who sets up accounts, and within 2 hours that day I was finally "in". It's such a long, slow process. I decided I will only add on through Disney from now on even if I have to pay a tiny bit more.

I tried calling today to find out if I am in the system yet, and had an unpleasant 'welcome home' experience - the person at MS kept cutting me off, and then rather curtly told me that she didn't know who I bought from so she couldn't help me. (I sent in the final paperwork to the closing agent about 2 1/2 weeks ago after purchasing a resale through TSS)

I thanked her, hung up, and called my guide from a few years ago. I had called him several weeks ago to tell him that I bought a resale, and may want to do an add on shortly. I'm hoping that he will be able to tell me if I am in the system at least....

Best of luck to those waiting!

I guess the key might be to check with the closing agent to see if the seller sent in their final paperwork AND to confirm that the agent sent notification to DVC. Perhaps there was a delay in that pipeline somewhere?

Good luck!

I agree that there may be a delay, and I am in no rush. Frankly, however, it was disappointing to have such a cranky person on the other end of the line for my very first call to MS!

I'll try again late next week if my guide can't find the answer for me.... It seems that the timing is definitely a variable based on amount of paper to process, how long it takes for someone to return papers, etc. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for those waiting to make reservations...

Anyone purchasing from The Timeshare Store, Inc., if you are not getting satisfactory answers from anyone about your process, call your agent! That is their job, to walk you through the ENTIRE process. They will be happy to make those frustrating phone calls for you. If all else fails, send a PM to me and we WILL get it done!!

HAPPY VACATIONING,
