Waited too late to add-on at Vero!

I finally got my husband to agree to add-on another 100 points at Vero only to find out yesterday that the only use year left is October. Boo-Hoo! We are thinking about an add-on at BCV, but I really hate spreading our points over too many resorts. If you do that then the 11-month window is almost useless without enough points at one resort. Yikes! Maybe a resell is the way to go. It's just really hard to find such small contracts.

Did you ask about wait list for a small add-on?

The 100 would be useful if you planned to go to BCV every 2 or 3 years with bank and borrow...?

So they are that close to selling out. Interesting. I like the changes they've implemented in converting the sales offices.

Many times sales fall through. Definitely get on the wait list incase any points come available.

Update:

Well when I got back from work yesterday DH had already made the decision and bought 100 points at BCV. We stayed there this past May and really liked it. Now we have 400 points total, but they are spread over 3 resorts. I hope that I can keep track of them!

We almost bought more points at Vero in June. They still had are use year but did say the resort was over 90% sold out (can not remember actual %). Now DH and DD wish we had bought.

Maybe we can get an add-on. I kinda want to wait until after for Saratoga Springs opens.

Glad you were able to buy Beach Club. The Rep said it was nearly sold out also.

Our use yr (Sept) sold out in March,we were glad we added on 100 pts at VB(300 total at VB now) in Feb before our use yr sold out. We like to keep things simple for borrowing,banking etc. Our OKW pts have the same use yr also(Sept).

You said they had availability on October use year?
Does that mean that you would get the points from October of last year? Or do you mean October 2003?
Why is that a bad thing? Just curious.

I was also considering adding some extra Vero points, but my September use year has been gone for some time now.
Oh well, there is always resales!

Gabe, the bad thing about it is that our use year is February. So we can't buy direct from DVC any points with a different use year.

I recently bought 200 Feb. points at Vero from Disney after having them exercise ROFR on a similar resale purchase. At that time my guide told me that Disney uses the points they get from using ROFR to market to new members and as addons as long as the price they are paying to repurchase the resale leaves room for them to at least break even(or make a few bucks).
So if I were interested in points at Vero, or anywhere else resales are available I would call my guide and let them know what I was looking for.

According to the member's meeting at Old Key West on June 24th, Vero Beach was 95% sold out. And that was over 2 weeks ago.

I was hoping to convince DW Sue to add on 60 points at Vero (to bring our total DVC points up to 500), but I could not sell her on the idea, even after visiting the resort.
