Wait, weren't you just at Disney World? An August '14 Pre-Trip Report *updated 8/24*

Finally all caught up! Early congrats on your new princess!

So glad you got the A&E and 7D FPs worked out. I'm eager to hear what you think about the frozen events at DHS. I haven't read too much about it since we're not going this summer, but I'm glad they've done something to address the huge popularity of the movie.

Yay for 9 days - er - I guess 7 days! :cool1: And great deal on the rental car/van. Gotta love getting that last minute lower price.

Your bedroom and porch look awesome! Very NICE! :thumbsup2

Wow!! All kinds of excitement for you guys! New baby, Disney and brightening up the house? Some of my favorite things!!!

I have to get on the ball about planning next years trip!! That's half the fun right there.

The porch looks nice and I really like the new steps. Your bedroom looks sharp. That's great you were able to get these out of the way before the baby arrives.

Looks great! Enjoy!

I am excited to be trying a MM share. It's my first MM or PP experience ever and couldn't pass up the opportunity to give it a try.

Porch and your bedroom look great. How I wish I had that size porch.

Great job to the workers. :thumbsup2

The porch and the bedroom both look great!!

Thanks Alexis! It has been very nice the past few nights sleeping in a fuly done room ... made us feel like real grownups :thumbsup2

Now only like 18 more projects - the joys of owning a house that is over 100 years old :rotfl:

Cool! Your porch looks amazing. I can imagine it would be fun to relax in a rocking chair while sipping a nice drink :goodvibes And the bedroom looks tranquil too. Nice job Phil! :thumbsup2

Thanks Matt! Back when we first moved in one of the first things we did was set up some chairs and sit out there with some wine and cheese and crackers, etc. - was very nice.

Thank you Shannon - only a few days away now!

I am hoping we are able to get to a few of the Frozen events as we only have the afternoon/evening in DHS on arrival date. From what I have read the highlights seem to be the sing-along and the fireworks. So I am hoping that they will still have some tickets left for a sing-along showing and also that we will be able to see the fireworks after getting out from our scheduled Fantasmic! showing.

and now we are down to only 5 days!

Thanks Mary Ellen - we are now working on what will become the "girls" room so hopefully that turns out great as well! We are certainly planning on it being girly!

Yeah, it does feel like a lot is happening all at once ... so glad I will have some time off of work before the Disney trip

Planning is definitely half the fun! Even planning for fake trips!

Great porch! And I really LOVE that color in your bedroom! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I have liked it even more as we have gotten more things in the room - the different shades of blue have seemed to help it feel complete and not too bright.

Thanks Annie - definitely glad especially as things were taking longer than we thought and I was starting to get a little worried. We are still having work done on the other bedroom but hopefully that will get done as well

Thanks Ann. We have done photopass in the past but this is our first time with MM and first time doing a MM Share - definitely makes it more affordable. It's cool to get the ride photos and from character meals, etc. included. Hoping to get some good magic shots too!

Thanks Kathy! We really like the porch, though probably don't get the use out of it we should as in the front of the house and we tend to spend more time in the back which is fenced it. But it looks nice at least ;)

I did know the amberg thing would happen. I've been using the name for a long, long time (almost 10 years o.O) and Marie was the first person to tell me it probably back in 2007. *shakes head* And people did use to rhyme my name with hamburger because my last name was Grear and Amber Grear if you say it fast... *sigh* Mother. Why didn't you foresee this trouble? All my life.

Anyway.

Of course you'd know more about the stuff than the TA ;) But I'm glad you got your FP+s sorted out. I knew you could.

Ahhh so close to the baby being born. It does seem crazy even from a reader's perspective that it's this close. I hope it all goes smoothly.

And the porch and the room look super snazzy. Way to go. A+ work.

Oooh! Yay for the house projects being nearly completed! Love the porch, that will be so nice to relax out on in the mornings and evenings! Rocking the baby to sleep!

The bedroom looks fantastic as well, I love blue! What a sigh of relief you must have everytime you step inside!

Love the photos - looks great!! Love the color of the bedroom.

BTW, did you notice we are in the same share! :goodvibes

It really is a bit of a challenge to pick kids names - but yeah, certainly justification to be a vegetarian

Yeah, I am glad we got things sorted out. Our first trip with using FP+ so was definitely nervous about the whole thing (still am) so glad things worked out sooner rather than later

Yeah, about T-3 days to baby day. Actually I had to come home from work a little early this past Wed as Judi had some early contractions - obviously the stopped though or else there would be like 500 pictures posted here and on Facebook

the porch was such a pain in the bum - just took so long (and wound up costing way more than one would think re-doing a porch should be) but very nice to have it done

We got this smelly stuff added to the paint so it makes the room smell good - so literally Judi takes in a big wiff every time she steps into the room

Love the photos - looks great!! Love the color of the bedroom.

BTW, did you notice we are in the same share! :goodvibes

Thanks Lauren! Oh good - I wasn't sure if that worked out or not. Thats good so we can see each others photos ... or we can take Aria for some PP while you ride the Mine Train ;)

Just getting caught up on your latest update. I love the porch! It looks fantastic! Nice job on the bedroom as well. You must feel like you are in a brand new house now! I love older homes. I just think they have soooooo much more character to them. If I was any good at remodeling I would love to own a victorian home. That has always been a dream of mine.

Thanks Kathy! The joys of an older house (ours is from the 1880's) is that they always need some remodeling. Also, since everything is a little crooked when you hang a picture it is always square to something ;)

While I lover our house there are times that the thought of a new house that doesn't need any work seems really appealing

Pre Trip Report: Part 27 - The One with Baby Emma

Well, we have come to the update that I know many of you have been eagerly anticipating as today is the big day. That's right - today was Olivia's first day of Vacation Bible School - and she was pumped!

1yqp_7c4_udpu1.jpg

Oh wait, was there something else that you all were interested in? Oh that's right - today's is the day Emma was to be born. A like a good DIS Trip Reporter I will drag the story out through multiple updates, various dining reports, and 50 pictures of a parade ... ok, I won't do that. In fact I will tell you right now that Emma was born today and both she and Judi are doing great! Though I will make you wait until the end of this post for pictures of Emma.

And I will go back a one day just to let you know that we spent the day before the expected birth date taking it easy ... by completely re-arranging our 2nd floor and moving Olivia into her the "girls room", setting up the crib, getting Peter's new dresser set up, setting p the new guest room ... you know, the usual.

Oh, we also got both cars ready to handle three kids. Will be a bit of a tight in mine, but we tought it to fit:

We also decided to use our new fire pit for the first time and roasted marshmallows. The kids were super excited about it:

Ok, moving on to today. We actually didn't need to be to the hospital until 10am so I actually did take Olivia to her first day of VBS - and to show her mom where to go to pick her up - and we finished getting everything together and then headed out - getting there pretty much right at 10am.

We had pre-registered so the process of getting settled was pretty easy. They brought us to the pre-natal room and we started to fill out more forms including for the birth certificate and signed off on other things like saying we know we shouldn't shake the baby (at least we didn't have to watch the video this time).

After getting hooked up to all sorts of tubes they took Judi to the OR and I got dressed in scrubs - great look right?

I got into the room and sat down by Judi's head, took her hand and they pretty much started slicing her up. It is a little bit of a weird thing seeing doctors you just met cutting open your wife and just kinda moving body parts out of the way - but hey, they have to do what they have to do.

So all the nurses were commenting at how big they expected Emma to be - and while Olivia was pretty typical, Peter was rather huge - 9lb 12 oz ... so another big baby would not have been surprising but I was not quite expecting the doctor to yell out "WOW!" after pulling the baby out.

But the important thing is that everything looked good and hearing her cry is definitely a top 3 moment in my life. They brought me over to the table to look at her and take pictures - and walk me by a great view of seeing Judi's insides before they put her back together ... and with that I give you Emma's first publicly released photo when she was all of 10 minutes old:

We then brought Emma back around so Judi could see her and the nurse offered to take pictures of us - and snap away she did ... might be a closet Photo Pass photographer. I thought this one was nice - first picture of the parents with their new daughter:

99bc_521_udpu1.jpg

I then went with the nurse to bring Emma to the nursery to get cleaned up and take her measurements and she weighed in at ... 7lbs 5oz - so not big at all (actually the exact same s Olivia). She is a little long (20") and definitely skinny.

I then went back to the first room and waiting for them to finish up with Judi and bring her back. A bit later they brought in Emma for her first feeding - which she did great with! They did some final checks on Judi and waiting for the feeling in her legs to come back - while we took the time to call our parents and let them know everyone was doing well.

We then went to the post-partem room and after a bit they brought Emma in to be with us.

So here is a picture of her all cleaned up:

And another - we've started the Lehigh brainwashing:

And that's where we are. Judi's doing great - other than the fact they said she can't have anything to eat until tomorrow morning kinda bumming her out. Her parents will bring the other kids over later and if I can get a good pic of all three kids I'll add that later.

TTFN

Oh my goodness!!! How exciting!

CONGRATULATIONS to you and your family!!! Emma is adorable

I love the photos of her big sister and brother sitting next to her. :thumbsup2

I have to admit that you got me in the intro. I've been hoping to know everything went OK and to see a pic or two. And then I was like, hey wait a second. Did I miss something?!?! Oh and the fire pit is cool too :wizard:

Looking forward to more updates, especially to see baby Emma in WDW soon!

Congrats again!
