I always do - in the main park they are near the hub, not far from the Plaza Gardens entrance and Discoveryland (as if you are going up Main St, heading for the Buzz Lightyear ride, its the green board on your right just before you turn off into Discoveryland).
In the Studios, again its a big green board, when you come out of Studio One, just to the left of the start of Hollywood Boulevard (more or less in front of where the FP machines for ToT are).
I recommend downloading the DLP app which has wait times on it too - updates in real time and only works inside the park. Means you can check wait times from anywhere without trudging to the board or the ride itself - i love it!
Phones with "3" network have France included as a "home" country, and will not cost you anymore than you usual plan to use. I have unlimited data, and call/texts included and regularly use it in Calais and Paris

Thanks lovelies! I've just checked with him and he said yes, it's free which is fab as he gets unlimited data. We are off to WDW next summer and his phone is free there too (they have free wifi in the parks over there anyway, but calls are free too (in his call package) which is fab!). My contract is up in March and I'm heading over to 3 too - it's too good an offer to refuse if you regularly travel abroad I think!
He has downloaded the app tonight btw - I can download on my phone but won't get free wifi so it isn't worth it for me. He said the feedback/reviews were very poor - not sure what it is actually like to use on the day in the parks?
I can honestly see this all changing in DLRP if it heads over to more technology driven FPs and photopass etc the way WDW is going.
The app can be slow to load and I think most of the features are trying to overdo it and failing. BUT for the live wait times only, its very much worth having!
