Wait, didn't I just get back?! An August '10 PTR...TRIP REPORT LINK ADDED p. 27

I'm here now, and all caught up! I think you should do the new Harry Potter ride, just to try it, but if you can save it for the end of the day just in case you do get sick.

As far as your first night I vote for DTD since it's so close....and you could do ice cream at Giradelli's :goodvibes

And yay for Mickey mail!!! That means your trip is just around the corner!

Woo hoo, congrats on the Mickey Mail!!!! :cool1: :woohoo: Your trip is so close now, you can actually say you are going next month! :rotfl:

haha, I know! It is so crazy! But so exciting. :cloud9:

Hi Brook! Yeah, I think I will be pretty disappointed if I don't do the HP ride. I think I am going to take Rachel's suggestion and take some dramamine or whatever beforehand...just in case.

Mmmm, Ghiradelli's. That sounds so good. That's another choice. Ahh that's why it's so nice being near DTD! :thumbsup2

SSR really is in a perfect location, so many dining options so close. I am sure you have enjoyed your long weekend. No summer school today, right?

Really counting down to my trip now, way to go Ryan, Yovanni and Cory. I think Cory might be in Home Run Derby too.:cool1:

GAH I just had a whole update typed up and then stupid me double-clicked and closed the tab! GRRRRRRRR. Guess I'll have to try again...

I sure have enjoyed the long weekend. You are right, there was no summer school today. :cool1: Love it!

I am so jealous you are going to the ASG. That is going to be a blast. I hope you share some pictures when you get back!!! :) I still have to order my Brewers Mickey. Haven't been able to find one at the stadium. Maybe I'll look again Sunday and then order one. :thumbsup2

OK, I'm going to try this again. Like I said I had a whole update typed up and then closed the stupid window. :headache:

I can't believe the long weekend is over already. Hope everyone enjoyed the 4th of July. We did kind of the usual stuff...parade in the morning then we went over to my aunt's house for a barbecue and ended the day with the fireworks. It was a great day and luckily the rain stayed away. :thumbsup2 It was nice not having summer school today too.

So when we were at my aunt's house I was talking to my cousin and she mentioned how we should go see Captain EO at Epcot. If you haven't heard, it is temporarily replacing Honey, I Shrunk the Audience and just opened late last week. Even though it is not completely new, it'll be new for us since we never saw it. I'm not entirely sure when it closed but we were still pretty small when it was there (if it was indeed there on our first couple trips). There are going to be so many fun things to see this summer! :thumbsup2 I'll start posting more park plans soon...popcorn::

Oh, and a public service announcement to my fellow Vera Bradley junkies: the fall colors come out on Thursday! Not like I need any more VBs but umm...somebody has $20 in gift cards to spend. I am thinking about using it to get a new hipster. I can get a discount too so it'll end up being pretty cheap. I'll be sure to post a picture if I do decide to get it. :)

And to end this post how about another trip flashback?

Trip #2: 1993

Even though I don't remember a ton from our first trip, we obviously had a good time since our parents decided to take us back! On this trip our grandma came with us again and it was the first time we stayed at the Polynesian. :goodvibes:cloud9: Again, I don't remember too many specifics but a few memories:

:cloud9: Playing on the beach at the Poly and in the pool. There was a cool slide but it was before they renovated and made the volcano pool. I also remember playing on the playground near the pool.

:cloud9: Remember the Starland show I mentioned in the first trip recap? I know we went to see that again and I was so looking forward to seeing my girl CJ. Well, since it was a couple years later there was a NEW GIRL PLAYING HER!!! I don't know why or how I remember this but I was so disappointed it wasn't the same person. :rotfl:

:cloud9: As far as entertainment goes I am pretty sure this was the year with the Aladdin parade at MGM and the Surprise parade (aka the parade in the Disney World Full House episode) at the Magic Kingdom. It's funny because MGM used to have a parade for all the recent movies. I know they also had Mulan and Toy Story parades. It's so fun looking back on all these trips and seeing how things have changed.

A few pictures from that trip. I have probably posted these a million times but I don't have too many old pictures scanned into the computer. Oh well.

Hanging out at the Polynesian beach.

We met Dreamfinder and Figment!

I think this picture is hilarious because of the look on my face. :rotfl: Oh, and don't you love our matching windbreaker jackets?! :hippie:

33 days to go!

I do that all the time, I type up an update, then accidentally press the wrong button, and there goes my update!

Love the past trip pics, especially the one with y'all on Poly's beach!

Love the pictures of you and your sisters, the windbreakers are so cute. I am glad I am not the only one who dressed my girls in matching outfits.:rotfl:

I have not seen the Brewer Mickey, but I will be at the game tomorrow, so I will check it out. I did get the Mickey all star shirt from my DH, wasn't that sweet of him? I may wear it at the park.::MickeyMo

Love old school Disney pics! The one of you and your sisters on the Poly swing bench is very cute.

I'm loving the "Growing Up Disney" posts. It's so fun to revsit that time. Starland Show, Surprise Celebration and Aladdin's Royal Caravan sure do bring back memories.

I love all the old Disney pics! :)

I've never seen Captain EO either, I know I was there when it was still playing but we just never bothered with it when I was a kid! :confused3

I was just thinking about getting a VB hipster for my November trip, especially since they are on sale right now, but if they are coming out with new colors this week, I'll wait! I'm not crazy about any of the colors right now except Night and Day and apparently you can't get that in a hipster anymore! :confused3

Love the flashback pics! You girls were so cute :goodvibes

I didn't go to WDW until I was an adult, and my first trip really wasn't all that long ago - I remember seeing the Mulan parade at MGM that trip :thumbsup2

Captain EO was still there when we took our first trip in 1991 because I saw it. On the last day of our trip, after we all went to the MK and stayed for the afternoon parade, we came back to the Villa. Mom was getting everything packed up for us to leave the next morning, so I took a bus over to EPCOT and did some of the things that we didn't do with you guys: Captain EO, Maelstrom, the Mexico boat ride, Body Wars, and Cranium Command. I think Honey I Shrunk the Audience was there when we went in '03 because I seem to remember Dreamfinder saying something about it on our video. He asked you guys if you had gone on the Figment ride, and seen the Image Works and Honey I Shrunk the Audience.

Grr, so frustrating! That's what I get for not typing it on Word first.

Hope you're having a good time on your trip!

haha, oh yeah, you should see some of our old pictures where we're all dressed the same.

Cool you got the t-shirt! I saw that the other day when I was checking out the Mickeys on the MLB website.

:goodvibes Good memories---that's what it's all about!

Yes it is! :thumbsup2

hehe, thanks. :goodvibes

Yeah, gotta love all those old attractions. I remember the Mickey Mania parade too.

It'll be interesting to see Captain EO. I am curious to see what it's like.

You will still be able to get a hipster in Night and Day if you want to...they are just restyling it for the fall. Only bad thing is it won't be on sale.

Love the flashback pics! You girls were so cute :goodvibes

Aww thanks. :cloud9:

That's cool you remember seeing the Mulan parade. I'm not even sure if we actually saw it, maybe we did. I just remember that there was one.

I will have to look at the Hidden Magic book to see when Captain EO closed. I thought it said 1994 but if HISTA was there in '93, which I think you are right (Dreamfinder asked Emma how she did in there :rotfl:) it must've been earlier than that.

Maybe the video and the Dreamfinder pictue above are from the 1995 trip.

I love the memory pictures! Since our first trip was only 4 years ago not much has changed...I look forward to seeing what changes will be made as the years go on and then looking back at our pictures saying "remember when..." :goodvibes

Yeah, maybe you are right. I think we just watched those home videos too.

haha yeah, 4 years is not too long ago! I can't say I ever really thought about it since I always just say my first trip was in 1991 but that was 19 years ago!:eek::eek: So much has changed. There are some things we miss but a lot of great additions too. That's why it's so fun to keep going back! :goodvibes
