Wait, didn't I just get back?! An August '10 PTR...TRIP REPORT LINK ADDED p. 27

I can almost guarantee Alex would, because it's so freaky! :lmao: I'll show him later today and let you know what he says.

LOL! So did you show it to him?

The Big Baby character as a whole gave me the willies -- especially when the head did the 180 turn.

I know, same. Though I did think it was kind of cute at the end when it was like "mama" when they were talking about their old owner.

Hi again everyone!

Wow, I have been really slacking on this PTR. :sad2: I had to work all weekend and now it's the end of summer school so I have to do progress reports and get everything all set for the last day Friday. Woo hoo! Can't wait until next week when I don't have to do anything and then the week after is when we leave!:dance3:

I got some good news today...one of my good friends from college is going to be going to Disney World in August too! Sadly she's not going to be there until after us :sad2:. It would have been SO fun to meet a friend there! Oh well, she and her husband are coming to Milwaukee next week so we can talk about our trips then.:thumbsup2 Can't wait to see them, even if it's not in WDW.

So before the huge storm last week we had been talking about our park plans for each day. I think between Claire, Dad (yes, even Dad has been coming up with possible plans for us :)) and myself we must've created half a dozen possible schedules. No matter what we decide to do, a lot of it will depend on the weather but we want to have a general idea of what to do each day. There are a couple things that are pretty much for certain:

:wizard: Wednesday will still be our Universal day
:wizard: We are going to try to get to each park atleast once in the first 2 Disney days

The other strange thing is that after some discussion we may not use early EMH. I know, shocking right?! Rather we might just avoid the parks that have EMH and go to a different one. We'll still be there right at rope drop. We'll see though.

So here's an updated version of the daily plan I posted a while back:

Sunday, August 8, 2010
-Flight out of Milwaukee on Southwest
-Arrival at MCO early afternoon...I just discovered something very tragic though about arriving on a Sunday. We won't be able to get lunch at our very favorite place, Chick-Fil-A! Booo. :sad2::rotfl:
-Magical Express to Saratoga Springs
-Downtown Disney or Boardwalk/mini golf

Monday, August 9, 2010
-park day! Magic Kingdom in the morning
-take monorail to Epcot, see what we can do there; get picture at Visa meet and greet
-back to MK for Main Street Electrical Parade/fireworks...we really want to try to do this early in the week in case of rain. Don't want to miss out on these two!

Tuesday, August 10, 2010
-Hollywood Studios in the morning
-Animal Kingdom at night...park closes at 7. Dad said it might be cool if we stay until 7 just because we have never actually been at a park at closing. Could be interesting!

Wednesday, August 11, 2010
-Universal: Islands of Adventure for WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER!
-Maybe walk around CityWalk...or if we are sick of Universal we can go back to Downtown Disney

Thursday, August 12, 2010
-Epcot in am?
-afternoon/evening TBD...maybe DHS for Idol finale

Friday, August 13, 2010
-last day...boo! Magic Kingdom in am?
-afternoon/evening TBD

Saturday, August 14, 2010
-come home :( Our flight is earlier than usual so it’s going to be an early morning!
-start planning next trip. Hehe

Again this is all tentative but atleast it's somewhat of a start. Only 13 days to go! I would like to buy our Universal tickets soon. No, we still haven't gotten them yet. :rolleyes1 I don't think it's too big of a deal since we'll just print them at home and have them before we leave.

I know it's also been a while since I've done a trip flashback...I promise I'll get back to those too. Thanks for sticking with me!

13 days woohooo :cool1:
Too bad about just missing your friend, I was really glad to meet up with my friend last trip at least you'll see her next week (:

Yeah 13 more days or you! i like the schedule, looks good. Cant wait to hear aout your harry potter experience too. 58 more days ill 10 in disney and 2 in universal. Give me some inside scoop for rope drop. been to disney 16 times and never once did a rope drop, thinking about it for september/oct trip
Jenn

I'm a fan of avoiding EMH's in general. The other parks, particularly the one that had EMH the day before, will be much quieter! However, I do like going JUST for EMH as well.

Rope Drop - that is a goal this trip...again...for me! :rolleyes1

Park Closing - I've closed 'em all! :rotfl:

I am DETERMINED to remember that Chick-Fil-A exists in the airport and get it the day we land! I'll be sure to take food pics! Any recommendations?

Yeah, it'll be fun to see her. And annoy her with questions about her trip. I am so curious to see what they are planning...she said it was a last minute decision to go.

I did  He shuddered and said it was really freaky and cool to have..... but "just not on my lanyard".

This strikes me as funny. Almost single digits ( :cool1::banana: ) and you have somewhat of a start on your park days. :rotfl:

LOL! Aww, poor Big Baby. Nobody wants him. haha

Yes, I know, that is like a sin for some people. But I remember one trip we were sitting at Pizza Planet and Dad asked us what we wanted to do in the afternoon. We just decided right then and there! So really having a plan ahead of time is good. :rotfl:

We will be sure to take tons of pictures at WWOHP. I'm excited to do a report on it!

Wow, you have never done a rope drop? You should give it a try. Even during busy times it's really helpful in getting a lot of things done quickly. We are usually at the park a few minutes before the scheduled opening times but a lot of times they will open the turnstiles and let people into the park early (like if there are a lot of people lined up). It's also neat seeing all the different opening shows at the parks. If you do one park at rope drop, try to make it the MK. They have the best opening show!

So funny, you are like the opposite of us. We rarely miss a rope drop and you've been at all the park closings!

Mmm Chick-Fil-A. Still sad that it won't be open for us. :sad2: We usually just get the chicken nuggets. I know that might sound boring but seriously they are the BEST chicken nuggets ever. They're so juicy and tender. LOVE THEM! Dad usually gets a chicken sandwich and he says those are good too.

The plans look good so far. Seems like you're just not having much luck with Chic-Fil-A this year. I guess that's what comes of flying on a Sunday. Hopefully you'll be able to have some of their awesome nuggets on your next trip.

Sounds like a good idea trying to see the Electrical Parade and fireworks early and keeping later evenings free just in case it rains. :thumbsup2

I think it's fun to see if it's possible to walk up to a restaurant and get in. That way, if we get a spot, then it's because we were meant to eat there! And if not ... haha, we saved our money.

Oh wow, I didn't know TSM was going through a refurb already!

I've read that you can ask to see a particular scene in the Great Movie Ride. Maybe you can try to do that!

Haha, I love that your fam's on this thread!

Well, Dad and I were able to get it when we went in April but when they went in January they got there on a Sunday. It's sad but we'll somehow live. haha

Thanks. That's what we thought too. :)

haha, I like your thinking!

Yeah, I don't really understand the TSM refurb. They just added the new game, why not do it all at the same time? :confused3

Hmmm, really? Maybe I should ask!

12 DAYS TO GO!!!

We got an email from DVC saying how in just a few short days we'll be returning home. Yippee! It was actually sent to Dad's email but when I saw the little window pop up saying it was a Disney email I had to click on it. :rolleyes1 Oops. Sorry Dad! :teeth:

This is completely random but I had to share it. I "like" Disneyland on facebook (haha!) and there was this link to a really neat video of the World of Color show. All I can say is Oh. My. God. It looks absolutely AMAZING!!!:wizard::eek::goodvibes:love::cloud9::lovestruc I think that is enough smilies.

Here's the link...seriously, I HIGHLY recommend watching it. How many of you want to go to Disneyland now? :thumbsup2

World of Color at California Adventure!!!

Yay for 12 days!
That video is awesome
I had heard that World of Color is supposed to be amazing, now I know it's amazing haha. I saw on Disney Channel a quick commercial of some Disney Channel stars watching WoC but their video didn't do the show much justice.

OMG I want to go to Disneyland SOOOOO bad and see World of Color! My friend is in CA now and spent a couple of days at Disneyland and posted some video she took of WOC on her Facebook page and I had to stop watching because I wanted to be surprised whenever I get to see it in person!!! :cool1:

12 days! Yay!!! :woohoo: :yay:

Wow. I've been seeing World of Color postings all over the place, but that was amazing. That perspective is incredible!

 TWELVE DAYS!

12 Days! Just think, in less than 2 weeks you'll be back at Disney!

World of Color looks fantastic,

Ya, we just can't seem to get moving that quickly in the AM. I REALLY like having a slow morning and sleeping in.... I very much want to see the show at MK, so one of these days I'll do it!

I heart chicken nuggets, so that sounds awesome to me! Henry and I can probably share 'em. I'll be sure to take food pics for you! :goodvibes Do they have good fries or something for the side too? Onion rings?

It was actually sent to Dad's email but when I saw the little window pop up saying it was a Disney email I had to click on it. :rolleyes1 Oops. Sorry Dad! :teeth:

:lmao:

11 days!!!!!

LOVE that video! I haven't watched any video on it yet b/c Henry climbs all over me when I watch video - but he's sleeping right now! He he! Makes me want to go to DL even more now!

Wow, 11 days?!?!

I just watched that video. Gorgeous!!! I'm so hoping our DLR plans work out next summer. I'd love to go there.

I see you have an early return flight too, boo!!! We leave at noon. I'm always so envious of those people who get evening return flights.
