Wait, didn't I just get back?! An August '10 PTR...TRIP REPORT LINK ADDED p. 27

Those are cool Vinylmations! I'm telling myself not to ever get into Vinylmation collecting. I was just about to get the one from the Flower & Garden Festival, but I didn't. Haha, I resisted! I also told myself I'd never get into pin trading, but when we went to the outlet and found pins for 50 cents, Weird and I bought a bunch of them. Too bad we didn't buy ALL of them! We're kicking ourselves because we didn't do that because it's the best way to get into pin trading and we didn't take advantage of it! Oh well! The CM there said it's rare that the price drops so low, but we didn't know it would be so much fun checking out CMs lanyards!

Haha, we know too well that Easter changes every year. When my parents chose the week for our timeshare, they did Easter of that year. They forgot that Easter changed, so that meant we weren't always off from school when we had our week! That meant it required a lot of extra exchange fees so that we could go when we had our school vacation. My older bro and I would NEVER want to miss school for vacation, so it was out of the question to skip.

What a cool pin! The blinking one! That's so amazing.

Great Flashbacks! I might have to steal...um i mean.... borrow.... this idea when and if I start mine.

My mom took me to Captain EO once when we were there... and we both still remember it. I'm so excited to see it again. I hope it's still as good!

We have pictures of the "pink castle" too. I wonder who was smoking what when they decided that was a good idea :rotfl:

That Buzz Lightyear Vinylmations is awesome! I have thusfar been able to resist both pin trading and vinylmations. But I can feel my defenses weakening.... must resist the cuteness!

Wohoo for 20 days! I'm so jealous!

hey sarah im here now..I finally finshed your april report so joining in here. thats for posting love reading it and love the past trip report

I love the pins too but haven't really ever gotten into the whole trading part. I don't think I could ever give mine away! The blinking one was really cool. :thumbsup2

haha, sure, you can use the idea for your report. I kind of got it from other people's TRs anyway.

Captain EO will be completely new for us. Can't wait to see it.

The pink castle was a crazy idea but I still am kind of glad they did it.

I know, that Buzz one is definitely the best one in the series. If I don't get it (they are blindboxed so you don't know which one you are getting) I may have to resort to ebay. I just love how he has a helmet!

19 days now! :yay:

hey sarah im here now..I finally finshed your april report so joining in here. thats for posting love reading it and love the past trip report

Hi, thanks for coming over! I still have a little bit lef to do on my April report but glad you're here too. :)

I want the TS3 Vinylmations so bad!! According vinylnation.net they'll be at the parks this month so crossing my fingers!!

The flashback was so cool, I had no idea pin trading started that early!

Ah yes, Journey into you Imagination was a weird little ride. I do like the current one with Figment better though.

I never did get one of those Magical Moments pins. The sound like kind of a cute idea.

Holy cow!!!!! :dogdance: (There are no cow smilies, but this one could be if you use your imagination!)

I should pay more attention to people's signatures around here...:lmao:

Anyhoo, I'm here now and I'll be catching up in just a minute!

I did see they were supposed to be out this month...I sure hope so! I really want to get a couple of them. My sister jokingly said we should get the whole case. LOL.

Yup, it's been 10 years since the craze started!

I agree, I'm glad they atleast added Figment again.

The Magical Moments pins were so cool. :thumbsup2

LOL! Glad you found me!

Those Toy Story Vinylmations are cute!! I hope you can avoid Big Baby.

Love that they had a pin that would light up/blink at certain attractions! That would have completely fascinated me as a child. It would be very interesting to see if it still worked!!!

Those Vinylmations are to die for! I like Weezy, then Buttercup, then Evil Dr. Porkchop. Buzz is way too fricken cute. I didn't even realize that was Big Baby and I'm not digging Jessie's face. :confused3 Rex is freakin hilarious with his teeth..... oh dear, I'm getting sucked in, aren't I?

That's why it was called the 100 years of Magic? I was just talking to a co-worker today about that and we couldn't figure where it came from. Disney World and I were born in the same year and I'm not that old!

The Toy Story Vinylmation series is pretty cute. But I'll save my $$$ for more Disney trips.:rotfl2:

haha, me too! That baby was creepy in the movie. Except for one part at the end...

It was pretty sweet going to Fantasmic and having our pins going crazy. :thumbsup2

I like the Lotso one too. So much fun. Woody and Jessie are a little bit funny just because of the shape of the figure...they're so skinny otherwise!

haha yeah, I am pretty sure that's where it came from!

The Toy Story Vinylmation series is pretty cute. But I'll save my $$$ for more Disney trips.:rotfl2:

Wow, I can't believe it's almost time!! :woohoo: And those TS Vinylmations are so adorable!! Not like I need to collect anything else, but I'm seriously tempted. Big Baby looks a little...rough, though -- kind of like a pig. I wish they would've had Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. Must. Stop. Looking. Seriously, I can see myself coming home w/ a lot of those.

I know, we're in the teens now! :yay: Your trip is coming up fast too. haha I could easily come home with a boatload of the vinylmations but have limited myself to 2 figures on our last two trips. But with these TS ones I may be getting two right there! I suppose I should save $$ though for Harry Potter stuff! Ahhh I can't wait to see that place. :cool1::dance3:

18 days!!!

We're in the teens! And only 7 more days of summer school...not gonna lie, I'm pretty excited about that. :thumbsup2

We haven't done a whole lot of extra planning as of late (well...not like we do anyway since we've been there so many times and pretty much have a plan of what we want to do!). We still have to decide what we're going to do about Universal and get those tickets. We'll probably just order them online so we have them before we go. I definitely don't want to be waiting in line at the gate to buy tickets. I want to spend as much time as possible at Harry Potter!

We don't have any ADRs made but I've been thinking about maybe trying to eat at the Prime Time Cafe. I am wondering how easy it would be to just walk up there one night and see if we could get in. In April when Dad and I ate at the Sci-Fi we had an ADR but we saw plenty of people walking up and keep in mind this was spring break time! So who knows. I'll have to talk to my sisters again about that. I just thought it might be kind of fun since it's been a while since we ate there.

And since we're talking about the Prime Time, how about we talk DHS plans???

Hollywood Studios Plans

Hollywood Studios EMH
Mon. 8/9 PM EMH 8:00-11:00
Wed. 8/11 AM EMH 8:00-9:00
Fri. 8/13 AM EMH 8:00-9:00

OK, now seeing the EMH schedule I am starting to rethink what we should do. Originally I was thinking we could do the MK and DHS our first two mornings. DHS is one park where I think the AM EMH might be really nice with TSM, TOT, and RNRC all there. Wednesday is probably out since that is when we are planning on going to Universal (HARRY POTTER!!!! You all knew that but I felt like I had to throw it in there because I can't wait!). I don't really know what to think as far as the PM EMH go. I've heard that they get really crowded especially in the summer. We could still go to DHS Monday night, maybe do one of the AI finales and stay for EMH. Or, we could just wait until Friday morning so we could take advantage of the morning EMH. Hmmm...sorry, this probably makes no sense at all. This is what I am going to call stream of consciousness trip planning because I am literally just looking at the park hours and thinking through all the possiblities.:rolleyes: I'll have to take a look at all the park hours side by side and see what might make sense. BUT...before I settle that here are the attractions that we can't miss:

:wizard: TOY STORY MANIA!!!!...no matter when we go this will be the first thing we do. If the line isn't too crazy long we can try to snag a fastpass for second ride. I am SO glad we are going to miss the refurb by a couple days. I'd really be bummed if we couldn't ride, especially with the new Dino-pop game! Woo hoo!

:wizard: Tower of Terror...love this ride. Also excited to see if I notice any of the changes they made for the summer.

:wizard: Rock 'n Roller Coaster...again, love this ride!

:wizard: American Idol Experience...must see it atleast twice: once for the regular daily show and then the finale.

:wizard: Animation Academy...one of my new favorites. I don't care what my sisters say, I am so doing this again! Plus it's in the AC so maybe that'll be some reason for them to do it. And since that's in the animation building I also want to meet Lotso from Toy Story 3.

:wizard: eat at Pizza Planet...didn't get to go there in April. :sad2:

:wizard: Rock 'n Glow party...so this is another thing they added for Summer Nightastic. They only have it certain nights but it sounds kind of fun. I'm curious to see what it's like. hehe

Some of the other things that are not absolute must-dos but we usually/sometimes do are the Backlot Tour, Muppet Vision, and the Great Movie Ride. I still am hoping for the western side of the GMR! No more gangster! LOL. And since we didn't see it last time, I might want to see the High School Musical pep rally again. We can do something like One Man's Dream or the Little Mermaid show if we want a break from the heat. As you know, we pretty much just go with the flow, seeing what we can all get done. Once we get the big three attractions done then it all depends on what we feel like doing!

Anything I'm missing? Any suggestions for when we should go to DHS?

:)

On our last August trip, it was a noticable difference for me crowd wise between Fantasmic and non-Fantasmic days. Sounds like the morning EMH hours would work better for you to hit TSM, ToT, and RnRC.

I haven't decided if I want to meet Lotso yet. ;) He's such a meanie.

Okay - this is my input on the whole MK/DHS the first two mornings thing. I do think that we should hit those two parks right away. But I think we should do something along the lines of what Dad has mentioned - do DHS on Monday morning, and then MK on Tuesday when it has early EMH. I know we always do MK the first day, but I honestly don't care if we change things up this time. It may be busier at DHS on Monday since it has late EMH, but maybe that won't be until a bit later. I'm just starting to think about the whole week, and breaking it down, maybe we could do something like this:

Monday: DHS AM; AK PM
Tuesday: MK AM; EPCOT PM
Wednesday: Universal!! :wizard:
Thursday: MK AM; DHS PM
Friday: EPCOT AM; MK PM

I don't know - these are just my thoughts! The only thing about doing it this way that I'm not crazy about is waiting until the last day to do the nighttime stuff at MK. That may be too depressing. :lmao: So I'll keep thinking. :goodvibes

As for the must-do attractions, I obviously agree with the big three. I too am so glad we are missing the TSM refurb. I can't wait to see the new Dino game! And you said you don't know what me and Emma think about the Animation Academy, but I definitely want to do it. I saw the topic you started a few weeks back about what characters people have drawn there, and there are so many! It sounds like fun, so I want to give it a try. Also, like you mentioned, it's a way to get out of the heat. And even though he's a meanie, I want to meet Lotso, too. :thumbsup2 Oh, and we didn't get to eat at Pizza Planet in January either. So we have to go there.

It was in January, too. The crowds at DHS on the day we saw Fantasmic were insane. But that was just late in the day. I have no idea what it was like that morning. :confused3

Are you a fan of Star Tours? I've always liked it and gotta get one last ride in before the refurb in September! I'm really looking forward to the changes though too!

Congrats on 18 days!!!! That is just awesome!

Those vinylmation sure are cute!

I had not heard of the Rock 'n Glow party at HS - I'll have to look and see if they're having it at all while we're there! It might be over by then though...
