Has anyone taken the wagon ride at Ft Wilderness campground? I am not talking the carriage or sleigh rides but the wagon rides. The reviews I have seen mentions a 45 minute ride through the campground. We absolutely adore ft Wilderness and would love to see the campers all decorated for Christmas on our December trip.

For anyone who has done it, is is a wagon filled with straw(not hay as no one uses hay even though they are called hay rides?) If there is no straw, is it a bench lined wagon? I would love comments on the wagon ride. We are hoping to do it after our Dinner at Trails End. Wanting to try some different things this time.

We did it last fall. It was a nice ride. Not much to see other than the grounds, but it was a pleasant way to spend some time. The wagons have benches. We sat in the back so we could not hear much of what the driver said. If you want to talk to the driver, sit on the side near the front. If you want your own conversation, sit in the back.

I would love more information on this. We will be going in December too. How early should we arrive? Does it usually sell out? Is the earlier or later time more popular? It looks like the website says it is only 25 minutes now. Is this correct? https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/tri-circle-d-ranch/ If so, sorry to hear of another cutback at WDW. It does sound like fun. Hopefully, some of you have more information to share on the experience.

The FW Wagon Ride @ Christmas is the best value at WDW.

So much fun seeing all the decorations and wishing everyone Merry Christmas from a wagon!

Best $8.00 I've ever spent at WDW.:)

This can't be reserved so you have to be sure to get there early enough to guarantee a seat.

We did this last year. (December 28th, to be precise)
I don't know if they normally fill up or not, but ours did. Obviously, we were there at a very busy time. We got to FW about an hour before the ride and just relaxed in the area looking at pins and such. Once we saw somebody line up, we joined them. This was probably about 45 min. ahead of time. The wagon showed up about 20 min. early; by then there were already enough people to fill the wagon so he loaded and we left.
If wasn't a very 'exciting' ride and honestly, we were able to see more holiday decorations on foot. That said, it was very relaxing and we all enjoyed ourselves. It was a beautiful evening and it was a great respite from the insanity of the parks. I would absolutely do it again if the circumstances were right.
