I'm bringing Dh for his first trip "home" at vwl in 12 days! I really need to "wow" him with our dvc purchase, he really is not a park lover! How is the breakfast room service, anyone tried it? Also I'm thinking about Artist Point, but he's a real beef-and-potatoes kind of guy, I'm not real sure about their menu. Opinions appreciated!
Planning on doing some walking, to Fw etc, but if you have any non-park vwl ideas, I'd love to hear them!
I was there in Nov with young grand children, but this is going to be a whole new kind of trip for me!! Thanks!!

Welcome Home:)Biased frequent AP diners/ lovers.Would he try Buffalo? They do have a Filet and Pork as well. The food is first rate and you will find locals dining here.We sometimes drive over with friends from the coast to get their fresh fish and the cobbler when in the area and not staing at WDW.If you like fresh berries it is a must order and not the kind of cobbler most are used to seeing. It is more like a fresh huge shortcake. You probably already saw the menu, if not here it is: (it regularly changes)http://www.wdwig.com/menu/menu_ap.htm

Disney is pretty good at special dietary requests. You can call ahead to find out.If it isn't his cup of tea,try one of the steakhouses at the YC,Dolphin,Canada/Epcot,Contemp.Have a great time wherever you choose.:)

We tried breakfast room service and it was delicious. My husband and I generally get one adult meal and one kids meal and split both and it's perfect without being too heavy (we're not big breakfast eaters). The waffles were wonderful!

I LOOOOOOOOOVE room service!

I'll take a shot at the "non-park" suggestions, since the room service and Artist Point were addressed.

Does he enjoy riding on boats? One of DH's favorite parts of WL and VWL is the boat access to the MK. Also take time for a ride to the Contemporary, get off there, and ride the monorail for a tour of the Poly and the GF en route to MK, maybe plan a meal at one of the resorts on the way. Also rent Water Mice for 1/2 hour of fast wet fun zipping through the lakes past the above-named areas.

In addition to Artist Point, the Territory Lounge is nice for a more casual meal with a lower pricetag. If you have not yet been to the Whispering Canyon Cafe, don't do it if you are tired, grouchy, and not in the mood to be razzed and teased by the servers. The food is smoked meats, which many love and some don't.
Have a great time!
