Still trying to decide where to buy and need a little more info.

A few of questions about the VWL.
First, during those hot and humid months, does the WL area seem cooler because of all the shade and trees around?

Second, What kind of views do the rooms have since none seem to have a preferred view?

Third, (tying into the second question) is there a certain view to request when booking there, or are all the views pretty much the same?

Fourth, how hard is it to book a room there at the 7 month window?

A quick weather question too - how miserable is the heat/humidity when visiting the parks in July or August? :sunny: :umbrella:

Thanks everyone! :rotfl:

Hooooot and huuuumid.

Views? Let's see, there is the woods view, the tree view, the forest view, a couple of leisure pool/tiny spot of the lake throught the forest view, and the infamous dumpster view.

A dumpster view! :earseek: How can one avoid that view when making a ressie?

I'm also guessing from your response that the view would be, okay let me think here, uh...TREES? Whew! :rotfl2:

So, if you were going to WDW in July or August, is it cooler at the VWL compared to the other DVC resorts, or does it really not matter where you stay, it's just plain HOT!?

Is VWL not a good resort to purchase points at? It seems that resales for this resort are few and sell quickly - why? :confused3

We own at VWL and really like it there. We used to live in Montana and went to Yellowstone a lot. So this is like reliving our trips to Yellowstone. It's a wonderful resort, very quiet. Makes you feel like you are away from it all. The lobby is a great place to sit and read or meet with friends.

VWL is the smallest DVC resort. My guess is that's the reason there aren't as many resales.

VWL has just a good AC as the other resorts in the rooms. Outside, July and August are hot everywhere, except in the pool.

Actually, the dumpster view is mainly a few studios, so more than likely you won't get this view.

The only reason why I asked if VWL was cooler in the hot summer months was because I read a trip report from someone who went to WDW in August and mentioned that it just seemed sooooo much cooler at the WL. :confused3 I just thought I'd see if anyone would agree with that opinion, but I guess not.

I never doubted that the AC in the rooms at VWL was just as good as any other WDW resort. :rotfl2:

I have written about the fact that it does seem cooler to us at VWL in the hotter months because of all those 'trees'! Yes, the A/C is the same as the other resorts, but outdoors does seem cooler to us, with the lake and all.
But that may just be the fact that we look at the world through "VWL colored glasses"!
