Volcano Bay: Cabanas versus Premium seating

I was quoted $450 for a small lower and $550 for a small upper Cabana for August 24 (a nothing-special Tuesday). Not $750, wow! But more than I thought it was worth... She originally just said the $550 but I asked if all the lowers were sold out, she said, "let me click one more thing" and then said there was a lower for $450. Huh?

Cabanas can hold anywhere from 6 people (there are 11 single cabanas, 18 lower cabanas + 2 ADA cabanas, and 20 upper cabanas) plus they have two family cabanas can hold a max of 16.

Prices vary based on seasonality and how busy the park is. Standard cabanas for most of July are around $799. August ranges from $399 to $649 and then September finally sees lower pricing $199 to $249. Premium seating follows the same pricing based on season and how busy the park is - lowest at $49 up to a whopping $199.

Some premium seating comments - it's hot under the clamshell. There are no vents for air to move. And the clamshell "cover" doesn't move well. You can move it if you're really motivated - but it's hooked under the seats and I swear it takes like 18 people to move the clamshell and a PITA to adjust and most of those are in full sun by the afternoon. I'd recommend bringing beach chair towel clips and (don't laugh!) a lightweight twin sheet if you want more shade later in the day. We used it during lunch in full sun and clipped from the clamshell to the cushion and it was a lifesaver for us.
