We will be staying at the Doubletree, but I'm reading that AKL restricts access to hotel guest and people with priority seating at one of the restaurants.

I've found one website which claims that this is no longer true.

We'd like to visit the AKL while in WDW...does anyone know if we'll have to eat there to get in?

They use to have that rule, but they dont any more. If you are driving you can just tell security you are there for a visit. Its our favorite resort. I am sure you will love to visit it. If you have time eat at Boma, its wonderful!

I would check that first, last summer they were cracking down on some of that. If you were staying at another WDW resort and had your parking pass in the windshield showing that, they waved you right through, but they were stopping others without a parking pass. My sister stayed at AKL last year and we stayed at CBR and we were back and forth to each others resort, the guard said that as long as you were a WDW resort guest there was no problem, but to make sure that parking pass was visible.
