Visa SPD & room only for beginning of 2015 are out!

No standards were available for me either. I did switch from POFQ to CSR because I could get a standard at CSR but I called back about 5 mins later feeling like I made the wrong choice and switched to POR garden view.

The only options I had for mid February at POR was pool view or RR. Pool view at POR was cheaper than POFQ garden view. CBR was the cheapest. CSR had availability, but I really wasn't interested.

I have our reservations linked with my parent's ressies. They have a Disney Visa. Can we call and get discounts on both our ressies using their visa??

We're booked in POFQ so I don't know what to do... 15% isn't that much but I feel like jumping from a standard to a garden/pool/whatever view is available at POR is going to increase our price, not make it go down, which would be counterproductive.:confused3

I booked a room for me and then a room for my sister. I used my Visa to pay for both rooms. A pool view at POR was cheaper than a garden view at POFQ, during my time frame.

What if I have a reservation 3/27-3/30. Will I get the discount on 2 nights or just 1 night? Will I have to do a separate reservation and possibly have to move rooms for that last night? Thanks!

I booked the S/P/D today for 3/5-3/9. The deal ends 3/7 but I got it for our whole stay, so you should, too. As long as you check in during the dates of the deal then it's good for the length of stay, even if you check out after it ends; RO discounts differ as your whole stay needs to be within the dates of the deal, I believe:scratchin

Does anyone know at what time they open this deal up to non-visa cardholders? If it is available on the 9th - does that mean at 12:01am? Or some other time?
I still need to book our rooms for Jan Marathon weekend! Deciding if it is worth signing up for a disney visa to get a jump start. We are hoping to be at a monorail resort. Is the selection still good once this deal is released to the general public?
Thanks! Kinda clueless about these things.

I had to book and place a deposit with my Disney visa. Not sure if you'd get the card in time to book before Thursday.

They did. Months ago. you can book RO and add dining. been that way for at least 3 or 4 months.

If you had booked it under an "AP rate" you wouldn't have gotten a discount at this point. They allow DDP to be added to RO reservations now.

I didn't. I booked under Disney visa and she did say DDP could be added to RO and still use the Disney Visa winter sale.

Just called and got the RO discount applied to my two nights at AKL (2/14-2/16)! Saved $212.38 on the savannah view. I was a little confused that the CM never asked me for proof that I have a disney visa (I do!). He assured me that I should be able to pay for the balance in any form I want when I arrive at the resort. I intend to pay with giftcards. Hope he is right!

Is POFQ included in the room only discount? If so, how much? And what do the discounts look like for deluxe resorts for room only? Wish I'd get an email or something from Disney Visa...

PORS is included, not sure about POFQ.. Deluxe room only is 30% discount.. I booked standard view Poly. You don't need email or anything, if you are a disney Visa card holder, only need to call disney reservations!

BAH. On the phone now and they have nothing available at POR for our dates. :( :( No moderates at all, actually. Just AOA and BLT.

Guess I'll try back Thursday a.m. and see if they release any more rooms???

ETA: Took the RO discount on our POFQ room because that's all there was available. Saved a whopping $146. :( But any discount is a good discount! Will try again on Thursday.

So is SPD basically about a $40 per night savings for each adult? I know you cannot use RO if you arrive too early for the discount and have to book different reservations but what about SPD? If I arrive on 1/2 or 1/3, can I apply SPD to the reservation?

Is the discount better if you move to a moderate resort? I booked S/P/D for 2 adults in a standard room at Pop for 7 nights with an 8-day park hopper and regular dining. If I price out the same package without any discount, I did save money, but it only was about 13%. I guess I was hoping it would be a better deal, and I was wondering if I didn't save as much because I upgraded to the regular dining at a value. Of course, we I asked about availability for a moderate, there was NONE. This seems hard to believe on the first day of the deals!

Maybe I'll try again on Thursday...or maybe my AAA Agent will come through for me!

What is your dates?

First day of discounts:goodvibes
Step 1 call Disney- Very nice man told me I did not have reservations. Which we do starting 01/05/15 at the POP.:confused3
Step 2 Call AAA- They call Disney for me and say sorry all sold out- ??? On the first day?
Step3 AAA agent calls Disney back and then calls me to say we can get a room only discount by going to a preferred room at the POP and take $70 off the price- So I say OK hey it is $70
Step 4 agent calls back and says we can add QSD for $25 p/p (2 adults) Ok why not I say (must be put on my Disney VISA)
Step 5 AAA agent calls back again and say OK a non –preferred room has magically pixiedust: opened and we can add the Quick Service Dining for $18 p/p per day.
Long story short the AAA agent had three different cast members give her three different quotes and we save some $$ in the long run.:thumbsup2
We did not want o switch hotel levels as it is me and my 21 year old daughter. Just wanted a Disney room for this trip.

Like yourself, people were making and canceling ressies at a fast pace when the promo came out, that is one reason you will have different CM's with different offers. Some CM's also put more effort into it than others.

... Some CM's also put more effort into it than others.

You are right about that. First CM searched and called the manager to get involved, looked at other resorts to try and save me some money. Turned up with nothing. The second CM searched and said that nothing was available, sorry.

There was nothing wrong with the second CM, she did what I asked and was very nice, the first CM exhausted all options though.

Woohoo! Applied the RO discount to our existing POR GV room reservation in mid-March. We are only staying 4 nights, but I think we are saving ~$250. I had to pay another deposit though, since the original wasn't on my Disney Visa (didn't have one at the time). I love getting these discounts, especially when I haven't planned for them originally. This is the third time we've done this. Bonus $ rules:cool1:

I finally got thru. Once it connected it wasn't a long wait at all.

We are looking at 6 nights at POR end Jan to beginning Feb with 5 day tickets.
S/P/D brought the price down from $3767 to $3240. So about 14%. Disappointing to me.
Room only brought are price from $1132 to $964. Only 15%. Not sure how that is the case since the promotion says 25%/20% for mods. Again a bit disappointing.

This is a totally spontaneous trip and won't happen if I don't keep it under a certain price. I didn't book either but will call back.
I called back last night and got the same quote for room only at POR. As others have said the cheapest room they had was Garden View. So when I re-run the number it is a 23% savings - sounds right. I'm still hoping to find something cheaper once it goes to GP and I can hunt online. But I did book it. pixiedust:

I can't verify what this new SPD package is for sure, but the 2014 version offered for dates in Jan-Mar 2014 was roughly child prices for dining and tickets -- roughly meaning estimates were pretty close if not exact.

Unless some new info comes out (or it has and I haven't seen it yet) I think I'd advise child prices is the way to estimate.

But it definitely isn't ACTUALLY child prices. I asked yesterday how much it would cost to upgrade two of my kids to "disney adults" for dining plan purposes, and it would be around $300. So in some instances, this would not be a great way to estimate.

I'm not a disney visa cardholder, so i have to wait until Thursday to check if my calculations are close to correct. I'm staying at POFQ w/ garden view and so it seems that Room Only discount works better. It would be a savings of $300.

If i got PSD i would have to pay maybe little over $100 more for regular dining and to upgrade to river view.

Anyone staying there getting the same results? Room only sounds better right?
