First off, I am looking for someone to help out on the wiki adding new furniture/items. If anyone wants to help please PM me.

Secondly, I agree 100% everyone is entitled to their opinion, but flaming a company for being tardy? Was VMK tardy a few times? You better believe it! They are in beta, and anything that could go wrong has. They wanted to create a place we could enjoy, so they released early, we are flaming them for trying to fill a place in our hearts. If that place isn't going to be filled by this game, then good luck on your searching, it's called beta for a reason, don't like it then come back later on.

I apparently have a way different meaning for the word 'flaming' than you do, because I really haven't seen any. Criticism of recurring flaws is not flaming, it's venting frustration.


Belle, another life example:
For 16 years when it came time for my evaluation, the principals had nothing negative to say, just positives. Now while this may sound nice, I know I'm not perfect.

This year, with a different principal, I still got a good evaluation, but he also mentioned some areas I could improve and gave suggestions on how to improve them. I would have changed years ago if only someone had just said something.

Next year, I know my principal expects to see a change in the areas he mentioned, and if I refuse to change I would expect my evaluation to go down.


This is the problem I'm seeing with VFK (VMK, too): they don't learn from their mistakes, in fact they don't admit that they've made any mistakes.

I can see everybodys point of view and reasons for frustration , but can i just remind people that we are testing a game that is not open yet, so why would it be perfect with no flaws ?
Games can be open for years but still have flaws and faults.
We need to give them time and support .

I would like to ask that if you did quit VFK that you dont post only to cause arguments. If you don't play then there really is not much to discuss right?

If you did quit and find a particular topic interesting, please by all means participate. There is a difference between contributing to a topic and just trying to flame people.

Just a matter of treating people with respect I think.

I have read this thread in its entirety and I continue to do so, but I really don't post much on here anymore, either, and it's because of the thread itself that I don't. When the game started, I was okay with it, though I realized it was no VMK. Then I read a lot of the criticisms on here and I sort of brushed them off and continued to play. Then I started playing another game and realized just HOW right the criticisms are of VFK. It doesn't just have a little way to go. It has a LONG way to go. Now, I devote 90% of my time to the other game. I did sign on over the weekend and did the quest with both my and my fiance's characters. I've played that Audobon game a grand total of maybe 5 times (not counting during the quest because I wasn't actually playing then). I rarely log on and if the game continues in this direction, my playing time will probably drop to 0, especially with the upcoming release of another MMO that I'm really looking forward to. This is coming from someone who was once one of the biggest positive speakers regarding VFK

I was extremely excited at the start of this game, and my excitement is dwindling down to 0%

ummmI just logged on and all of my furniture that I placed in my room the night before is gone. Dis it only happen to me? And the furniture is also gone from my inventory as well.

Any word on the new quest today? I didn't get a chance yesterday to do the quest for the pink surfboard (cry cry) so I'd like to at least attempt today's quest...

I don't post much on this VFK thread, but I am reading. I just don't want to make waves because I can be very opinionated at times, LOL!

Despite all the frustrations and the disappointments, I am still willing to wait on this game. I just don't log in very often, but keep abreast of progress on this thread. My only gripe with them is that they seem to be poor on organization and priorities - making that many new rooms without a map and making poor Pink WALK everywhere aimlessly is without excuse! I refuse to walk all the way to that bird game, so I remain dirt poor - it kills me that I can't afford anything that is coming out. I'm so used to virtual Pink being able to buy whatever she wants whenever she wants. This is a life lesson for me, LOL!

I know some ppl are bugged that VFK seems to be copying VMK, but can I say for the record, I WANT them to copy VMK! The more like VMK the better! I MISS MY VMK more and more each day. SmallWorlds is great and all, but I'm getting a little frustrated by the missions of having to play stupid arcade games - I don't WANT to play those stinking arcade games! LOL! But I'm forced to suffer through the agonizing frustration of them because "me poor" and they have fabulouso furniture

OK, I'm rambling. Just want to say I'm hanging onto hope for VFK. It saddens me to see so many people being so negative towards them. Yes, they opened too early, but I understand why they did and I'm willing to cut them a break.

What saddens me the MOST is that here we are as a community... a family.... looking for a place to belong again.......and this thread is doing nothing but tearing us apart. As much as I wanted discussion on VFK here on the DIS boards (and almost lost a friendship over it), I'd rather see this thread closed than all of us in here fighting over a game.

You're absolutely right about that. I hate that part of it, too. Even more, I hate that we've been forced to resort to searching for a new place to play. As was discussed prior to VMK's closing, VMK had something for everybody. None of these other games (so far) have that. Like you, I'd love to see VFK become as close to VMK as possible (without being shut down by WDIG). Hopefully, we can all be united with this game. At this point in the game's life, however, I can see why so many have moved on to other games. Here's hoping VFK can become something all of us former VMKers can enjoy.

Finally A step in the right direction- all your online friends are at the top of your friends list in alphabetical order and the non online friends are now in alphabetical order. Aso quest is from 5-10pm pacific. Prize is blue lava lamp.

Another new thing ink noticed is that the box around people is gone making it much easier to get by people.

Thanks for the update. Before doing the quest last night I had been on VFK for a total of about 2 hours since it opened. I read this thread to see what's happening. It's great to see that VFK is making some progress. I will definitely have to sign in to do the quest this evening.

Also there is no more huge personal space. Now you have to actually click the
player's body, not around them, but on their body for the buttons show up!

That means it's a lot harder to jam up and block the exits! Credit to ink for that.

Awesome. Woot!! That was one thing that was annoying lol. It will make things go smoother tonight.
There are many things that I feel are negative about VFK, but I'm excited that they have made progress and look forward to more progress being made.

I was excited until I heard the game was based of history, a subject I don't find much entertainment from and considering that American history doesn't really matter to me since I don't live in the states.

I have tried to stay possitive about VFK and support what they have been doing but right now they dont seem to be going in a good dirrection. They are trying way to hard to please us with what they think we want. So in case anyone out there is watching here is a list for you, from me.

I want:
I want you to stop adding more items/rooms/quests until you have had time to fix the bugs you already have. I dont care if it takes 2 weeks to fix the current bugs, I just want to enjoy your game without them. I dont like being stuck to a wall, unable to move, shrinking, buggy friend lists, lag, no clue of exits unless I stumble on them, etc.. Stop, just stop and fix the problems. I can wait for new items I dont mind.
Release item/room/quest, find the bugs, fix the bugs, release new item/room/quest (lather, rinse, and repeat). Not hard. Not complicated. We expect this. Thats what we signed up for, to have fun finding the bugs for you to fix. To me it was a fun adventure seeing what new bugs I could find when you released something. The problem is your NOT fixing any bugs and creating new ones making the game more difficult and agravating to play.
I want you to follow through with things you have said would happen. We are still waiting for the original promise of the Hat when we signed up, the day one shirts, the opening of Merlins shop. You made a promise of those items first. Instead we got a Wild west store that has items that dont even fit a theme. We have a bird game in the Wild West where we drive a Hummer (had you made us ride horses it may have made more sense). It make no sense that you have all the time in the world to release those things but none of your previous promises. You need to mean what you say and say what you mean. Dont wave a pretty shinny object in front of our faces and think we forgot what was promised.
I want you to communicate better with the staff in game. As agrivating as it is for us to hear they have no clue what is going on, I cant imagine the flustration they feel having to answer that way. Immidiately post something on your homepage if there are delays so that staff can dirrect us there. Nothing fancy needed, simple page with the update on problems. And for gods sake stop erasing stuff. It looks like you want to hide it from us, like your being dishonest.

I like how you are trying your hardest to please us. I have loved all the ideas you have and where you want to take this game. Two thumbs up for your ideas. Take a moment and rethink a few things before you lose people who still believe you have what it takes.

My posse and me are going to mosey on over to the store and check out the new fang-dangled light or maybe one of those there fancy flower chairs to buy for Ma or Pa
