I figured I'd share a lesson learned today. I went to call (60 days in advance) for the day I wanted to have a guide and they are already all sold out. These appear to be going super fast according to the CM I spoke to. They will put you on a wait list if there are not guides available and you may or may not get a call. The CM mentioned they have been taking people off wait lists to give them guides but it is not a guarantee (which makes sense even if I am bummed).

So... if you want to book a guide, make sure to call as soon as the lines open up on your 60 day or you may risk (like me) not getting the guide you were hoping to get.

and darnit.. posted in the wrong place and cannot delete *egg on face* possible to get moved to the right forum?

I don’t think you have to wait until a certain time to book a VIP tour. In the past we’ve reserved tours 6+ months in advance when we booked our vacation. Is this something that changed with Covid?

You do. I called early and they told me to call at the 60 day mark. Not 60 days before your arrival but 60 days before the day you want the tour :( So I do believe it is something that has changed with covid.

It is 60 days from date you want to take tour now.

What is confusing is did was OP not able to book tour because they wanted only a certain guide or because full.
I was able to 60 days prior to visit last month.

I did not ask for a specific guide. I wanted any guide. I was told they spots went super fast as soon as they opened up the other day.

Weird. Seems strange to change that aspect. Recently I was talking to someone that was going on a VIP tour and they were worried about the CMs still being “on strike”. I was confused and they said they had been told that there was a strike recently and one day someone had shown up for their tour and they’d just given them some ticket for unlimited FPs and apologized because there were no guides. I wonder if that is still an issue and they are just really short staffed. Or that could all be a rumor. Who knows.

Wow! Do you know if they were also refunded for the tour?
