Vintage toys...what do you remember??

Chattie Kathie. Had a string you pulled to make her talk. She even had a couple of teeth in her mouth, at least until my younger sister was playing dentist one day and extracted them.

Also, I had the blonde barbie with the short bangs and long pony tail. I had the wedding dress outfit, the raincoat outfit, the fishing outfit, extra lingerie, and other accessories. I actually still have most of it but it is not in good condition due to being played with alot.

Baby Thumbelina. I think there was a key that made it turn over. My sister and I both had one of these, with lots of real infant sized clothes for them.

I think it was called "my ballerina."

She was dressed in all hot pink and had blonde hair and blue eyes. If you lifted her crown, she spun around.

I never should have thrown her out, I miss her till this day.

Only toy I connected to.

Sounds like the one I had- but mine definitely had dark hair. I too wish I'd have kept that. (thanks Mom! lol )

I forgot to mention my prized GI Joe collection. I had the steamer trunk for the clothes, plus the jeep and all the neat (very un-PC) guns, knives and stuff.

Do you remember when you had to use a real potato with the Mr. Potato set. Those where the days. :rotfl:

DD thought I was making this up! I absolutely remember using a real potato. The parts had a really pointy piece to pierce the potato. It's a wonder we survived being kids, eh?

Spend 15 minutes lining up the "play", flick the switch, then watch your running back run around in circles instead of heading upfield :teeth:

My Holly Hobbie blue Easy Bake oven and my Holly Hobbie cling thingies. They came in a box, and there was a scene on a board that you could put the clings on. Oh, what were those called? :headache:

My Little Pony was and is still my all time favorite toy. :)

I also had Rainbow Brite, Cabbage Patch Kids, Strawberry Shortcake, Heart Family, Brush-a-luv, Wish Kids, Popples, etc.

I had a Mrs. Potatoe head. I owned some Care Bear items but never actually had a Care Bear until the recent revival.

Actually, when my sister and I were little, we played more with our imagnations than our toys. We had all these make believe games that we created that needed only ourselves to play.

oh! I used to love the old shrinky dinks that you could color then put in the oven!

Shaved?
Mine had his singed off when that mortar (bottle rocket) landed too close. pirate:

I actually singed more than my Joe's head. I accidently melted half his face with a "mortar" and blew off one of his hands.

Does anybody remember this game ?

three guesses which decade i grew up in!

These are great!! Since I am clueless on how to post pictures here is a list of my favorites:

Baby Alive (pushed chin, and she would eat "baby food")
Chutes Away (nothing like Chutes and Ladders)--my DH always wanted this game--it may appear for Christmas this year.
Green Machine
Cabbage Patch Kids
Fisher Price little people house

I think my kids would get a kick out of the inch worm. I remember I wanted one, but never did get one. I may have to do a search on Ebay!!
