Villians Sinister Soirée

For people asking about the timing of the parade, a couple days ago i switched our soiree reservation on 10/21 from the earlier one to 11:45, and was also told the later parties see the later parade. FWIW, this CM really seemed to have a lot of knowledge about the soiree, unlike some others i've talked to (this was my 3rd call about the soiree).

For those with nut allergies, be aware the bread on the cheese plate is supposed to be walnut bread.

DH has a nut intolerance (not a breathing allergy, but he can't ingest tree nuts or coconut) so we have to watch out for it, too. Since his issue isn't severe, I figure at the party we'll just see if they will switch out the pistachio thing for another chocolate/raspberry thing, and leave the praline off the mousse. At the tomorrowland terrace dessert party we had noted his nut issue and they brought him out his own plate, which was lovely, but he was kind of bummed he didn't get the whole experience, so i think we will wing it this time. Obviously, that's not possible for folks with breathing or other severe issues.

Thanks for this! I missed that the bread has walnuts. Great info!

I would suggest calling back and adding it to the reservation for a intolerance/allergy. It sounds like these parties are very tightly scheduled. I am guessing everything is prep lanes and plated, so there is a possibility there wouldn't be an alternative if it isn't requested ahead.

2 viewings for parade...not what the " official wdw blog " is saying as of today

Last night, I called Disney to change my 10:15 soiree to the 11:45 seating. The Cast Member informed me that with the later seating, I would only have VIP viewing for the 10:30 Boo To You parade and would not be able to enter the VIP area for the first parade. I cannot find anything online that states this. Can you please confirm whether the Cast Member was correct?

Hi Emily,
Both dessert soiree seatings include preferred viewing for the 8:15 showing of Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade.

I just did this (and was surprised my call got answered without a wait!) and was told that they will put a note in the reservation but there are no guarantees about how they'll accommodate it at special events. She just said there are lots of desserts and you can just pick something else, which seems inadequate given that there are only 4 desserts, that you're supposed to get all of them, and that it costs $99. This CM didn't seem too knowledgeable, though, so perhaps I'll call again later.

Thanks for posting! That was actually me who asked the question. I'm glad they answered it and I have it in writing, but I'm still skeptical. No one at Disney is on the same page, apparently.

This thread is getting really long. Were there any reviews from DISers who have attended yet posted that I've missed?

Does the head Disser Pete count ? see the first link ( not sure he'd want to be called that though...)

I have not seen any posts from attendees on this thread.

Odd. Take a look at post #589 which reads:
I posted this is another thread, but figured I would share here too.

My family and I just finished the second seating tonight and also thought it was worth it. We met 10 villains total. There were 7 that came around to the tables and then three others that greeted us downstairs before we went to be seated. There was a card that had all their signatures on it. When we were seated the punch, water, and a plate of cheeses and crackers were on the table. Each guest got a plate of the four desserts. It was too much for any of us to eat! They were themed to the villain they represented.

We watched the parade, the mix and mingle show, the celebrate castle light show ( I'm sure that's not what it's called) and the fireworks from the viewing area. It was nice because there was so much room to move around and it was a great view.

Overall it was a great end to our evening. And I would recommend it to anyone who wants to meet some more villains than are at the party. There were a lot of characters out in the park too during the party. I hope that helps everyone. I know there were a lot of questions floating around.

....then, take a look at the very next post, (#590). If you haven't seen any posts from other attendees, then you didn't look up. :rotfl2:

I just called to switch my SS party from the earlier one to the late one on Oct 23. Originally, when I made the reservation, they only had the one seating. Today, I was told that they added late seatings to most of the days after the original "surge".

I asked about the parade timing and he said there is only one reserved time for all the Soiree guests from both parties for the parade and that is for the early parade (8:15 PM).

The CM I spoke to sounded more knowledgeable than some of the ones I spoke to the first day reservations opened.

Does anyone have any photos of the fireworks from the viewing area? I'd like to get perspective. Has anyone considered watching the parade from the viewing area and then watch the fireworks from farther back?

Pete's blog has FW photos from the viewing area. And he calls the view "obstructed".

Maybe the reviews got lost among the negativety and Disney bashing?? Lol. I didnt see them.

The obstruction doesn't seem as bad I I thought, the photos look farther back than I thought. From what I remember HalloWishes is wider than normal wishes.

That's our plan. There's a gap between the end of the parade and the start of fireworks so we will go grab some popcorn and a drink and move back a bit.
