Villians Sinister Soirée

So you are saying you sounded like a lunatic a few hours ago? :lmao: It truly is a sickness. But I just am such a villain person. Oh for crying out loud, I'm off to call. Now I just hope Unbeknownst was turned away because he was a party of 1 because 9/26 is our date. :scared:

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: Yep- total lunatic. I love Cruella. Because of the movie DD is now obsessed with Maleficent. For the first time, we are going to MNSSHP as villians- and I bet you can guess which ones. And now, I'm continuing to talk myself into seriously considering keeping it- depending on reviews of course. I'm calculating in my head and thinking it might save us party time instead of losing it as others have worried about. We love the MNSSHP parade, so this might save us some spot holding time. We have done 2 villians mix and mingle shows in a party night getting there early enough to sit on the very front row to get pictures with Cruella, Evil Queen, Dr. Facielieer and Malificent, so this will save us that wait time and 2nd show time. Yes, it will be 45 minutes inside CRT, but if we are guaranteed to see these 4 characters in that 45 minutes, that avoids lines for them and we may come out ahead. I just hope the characters can make the full rounds in that time period- I saw where it said they will give you an "autograph card", so I'm guessing they will be trying to trim the time by photos only and no signing.

FYI- CM I talked to said parade viewing was at the central hub. Can't remember what was said about fireworks if anything.

I'm a little confused by the paradox here on the DISboards, today. This morning, many were complaining that Disney sold way too many tickets for the Villains Unleashed event at DHS, which apparently ruined the event. Clearly in that case, the price was too low, which made the demand way too high. Now, a few hours later, many are complaining that Disney is charging way too much for a small, limited seating event that occurs during MNSSHP. It's going to have to be one or the other.

I agree wrt demand/pricing... my MBA/MSF self and econometrician DH (aka geeks) are with you! LOL!!

I think those who have an issue with it mostly feel like to them, the value isn't there on this offering. Which I get -- totally subjective. And/or that Disney is doing this more and more and being increasingly "classist".

I see it as successful market segmentation... until/unless they begin withholding basic park experiences from those who can't/won't pay for special events. (Eg PP's example of only meeting A&E if you pay extra). Fine line...

From the Disneyworld website in regard to the viewing area- the party is now listed on the MNSSHP page:

•To check in for the event, visit the Will Call booth outside the main entrance of Magic Kingdom park from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Starting at 7:30 PM, you may check in at the parade and fireworks viewing area in the central plaza by the Castle Forecourt Stage.

I was told to expect autograph cards. and that subject to change the villains are Lady Tremaine, the Evil Queen, Cruella Deville, Frollo, Dr. Facilier and some others I forget because I was so excited Frollo will be there! (See avatar, lol)

I made a reservation for 3 on 10/9 for 10:15pm. Frankly, I think Disney shouldn't create an event within a special event. However, they have done so and if it adds to the party or saves us time meeting characters/lining up for parades/fireworks, it may be worth it. I plan to cancel if reviews are bad for the initial parties.

My DH's response to all this: "You know, for $500 a day I could get some muscular men to carry you around for an entire day and provide other services as desired in some areas of the world. BTW, by other services I meant housecleaning and cooking..."

So I see some of you have caved like I did this morning!! Welcome to the dark side!! LOL!!

I do hope this turns out to be awesome... If early reviews are HORRENDOUS, I'll back out, but fingers crossed... :)

I booked this for the first MNSSHP Sept 1st. I called the regular dining reservation line, waited about 2 minutes and was able to book it no problem.

The availability to meet Villains at MNSSHP is something I think many would consider a basic park experience for MNSSHP. If (and I do acknowledge that that is an if, not a fact), villain availability for meet and greet is negatively affected by this event, then I think many would see that as withholding a basic MNSSHP event. I think that is a valid concern many have right now.

Did you see the updated website no longer says VM&M. It now says Villains Castle Show. Guess that answers that question.

"Negatively affected"... I'd personally agree 100% if you couldn't meet all/most of the villains elsewhere during the event. Sounds like you will be able to, though. Maybe not all -- as you said we don't know yet.

The way they ran the VM&M M&G up until now is something I would NEVER do -- always looked like a madhouse to me which meant we wouldn't meet some of those guys. Having the villains available to meet elsewhere would POSITIVELY affect my experience even if I wasn't going to the soirée. Eye of the beholder, again.

Enjoy your desserts with a few villains that are everyday meetables in the park. It just means a few less people for me to wait through to get to the REAL villains!!!

Does anyone who has booked know where the reserved spot is for the Parade and Wishes? Can you leave inbetween or would it be best to stay in your spot until Wishes starts?

Thanks to everyone who told me to call back! I was able to get 9/26 on the second try by asking for 2 people... sucks that it doesn't work for just one person, but they said I could call tomorrow to adjust the reservation.

OMG, you're kidding? I tried and was told they were sold out, when I asked for a 1 person ressie. Will try it this way! Thanks for the info!

From the WDW website: Starting at 7:30 PM, you may check in at the parade and fireworks viewing area in the central plaza by the Castle Forecourt Stage.

I don't know about leaving and coming back, but I'm guessing people will stay because it will likely go from the parade, to the Villians Castle Show, to the Castle projection show (assuming there is one), to the fireworks.

The OP of this thread needs to come back and keep page 1 updated with the sold out dates. According to people on this thread that appears to be September 28th and October 10th so far?

Yeah I posted this info around 2:30 after I tried it and it worked. I only attempted this beacuse I tried it for a ADR I was really wanting to get but when I put in for one it was booked yet when I put in for 2 it worked! So if there are any regular ADR"s that don't work by putting in one try it for two.

I would do this for like a MAXIMUM of $40. It does seem like it would include some fun things, I'd love a dessert party with some villains. But I don't want it $100 on top of $60 bad.
