View down on Dream 5E extended verandah 5026 and others! (inc. non-ext. 5024)

thanks for replying !! That kinda stinks. Who really wants to be on their verandah and see the people in the stateroom right below you?! What about the stateroom above us? Will they be able to see directly onto our verandah like we will see 5656? Talk about no verandah privacy...jeez!

No to your question about the rooms above you. If you're in a side facing verandah room, they will all look down onto the extended verandah section of the 5E rooms on deck 5. But they are all in line with each other, so you shouldn't be seeing your neighbors below unless they happen to be leaning out over their railing.

There are some aft verandahs where folks above may be able to see down onto the rooms below, but that looks like it's a minimal concern from the design.

I have room 5052 booked, how do I know if it is a connecting room or not, as I would like not to have a connecting room and there are still some 5E rooms showing for my sailing in 2012.
Thanks as I am sure someone will know the answer =)

5052 on the Dream/Fantasy is not a connecting room. When you're looking at a deck plan, there is generally little arrows pointing from one room to the connecting one and vice versa, and a two little lines that look like doors opening up.

Looking straight down, you will be seeing the verandahs for room 5656 and it's neighbors directly below you. There are almost no rooms on the Dream/Fantasy where you can look directly down to the water, except for perhaps the 5E rooms with the extended verandahs and some of the concierge rooms. But you should still be able to see water beyond those verandahs, just not where it meets the ship.

That will be us in 5656-5652. You might see me sipping coffee in my pj's. :coffee: :wave2: but no hanky panky. :lmao:

This video on the Passporter site shows the verandah for room 7022, an obstructed 5C verandah. They take some video looking down on the extended parts of the 5E verandahs below. I know there were lots of folks looking for this shot, so thought it would be good to point out.

The extended verandah you see is actually room 5026, which is down and one room over. Directly down from 7022 is room 5024, and you can clearly see (37 second mark) that it does not have the extended verandah, as discussed in the Special Rooms thread. The equivalent rooms on the right side of the ship are 7520, 5524 and 5526.

I sent this video to my TA who just sailed in a verandah, deck 10 aft and said she didn't see any extended deck below like this. She is thinking perhaps this is only in the fwd deck 5 verandahs. I don't know.

We won't be on deck 5 until 4/2012 so many will report back long before me.

From the discussion, I think 5528 on the Dream is not partically obstructed, but might have the extended veranda, viewable from upper floors. Can anyone confirm this for us? Does anyone know the measurements of the extended verandas in 5E cabins?
Thank you.

The 5E rooms are only located forward and aft on the Dream so the midship rooms won't see these verandahs but the aft folks should also be seeing extended verandahs beneath them. But the cat 4 folks (whose rooms make up the middle verandah rooms on deck 6 and up) aren't left out of having an obstructed view directly down to the water. They get to look down at the lifeboats instead. And those who are lucky enough to see past or beside the lifeboats will still get to see the Dream's hips.

I think someone asked recently about how far out the lifeboats stick out. Pretty far from this picture taken by the DIS folks, which shows a pretty good perspective of how the top and bottom stick out, which the middle decks dip in:

5528 is the connecting room that joins onto 5526. It is not obstructed, and does have the extended verandah. The equivalent rooms on the other side of the ship are 5028 and 5026. 5026 is the extended verandah featured in the video and pictures elsewhere in this thread, and 5028 is the connecting room next to it that you can see on the other side of the partial white verandah currently dividing up the space as shown below.

Maybe she was just too excited to notice. She said it's even more opulent than the Magic.

Has anyone posted about (perferably with pics of extended verandah) the 5E rooms that has stayed in one yet?

Does anyone have pics of what these verandahs look like with the dividers down? We have adjoining verandahs for next month and would love to see what it will look like!

mstang88 posted pictures back on page 3 of 5E room 5024 of their room on a training cruise.

Ooooohh
Let me go find that. Thanks!

Wait no, I mean from the actual room's view- not from the view of another deck 5 room. sorry.... I've seen those. I can't believe no one actually IN a cat 5E room that has extended verandah hasn't posted yet. I'm waiting on that. LOL

Aah. I was wondering, but you didn't say specifically a 5E with extended verandah, you said anyone who stayed in a 5E, preferably with pics of an extended verandah! MSTANG did both! Just not of the same room!

Can anyone tell me what my view would be from stateroom 6036? is it directly above these extended balconies?

Yes, you are above an extended balcony room and not the lifeboats. If you look at the picture below, and find 6534, that's the same as 6036 on the other side of the ship. The extended verandah for 5042 should be directly below you.

thank you! Not sure if I should move or not. Not a fan of the lifeboat view tho. hmmmmm

I just booked room 5552 which is a category 5E with verandah. I am a little confused about the different verandah categories. Can anyone tell me anything about our room and what kind of view to expect?

yeah I didn't write that so great. LOL
I meant to say have we seen any pics from someone who has stayed in a 5E extended verandah yet. That sounds better right? LOL
