View down on Dream 5E extended verandah 5026 and others! (inc. non-ext. 5024)

Is there any chance that room will be lowered to a 6A/B? It does not seem fair that it is at the same level and price point as a non-obstructed view room.

And, I mean, if rooms are probably going to have to be re-classified anyway, why wouldn't DCL just classify them appropriately from the get-go?

Anyway, that situation seems like a fight waiting to happen: between the mother saying that they don't want their kids able to see the topless lady sunbathing below, and the topless lady saying it is her verandah; she can do whatever she wants.

I mean obviously, I would not be letting it all hang out where other people could see me, but inevitably, it will happen.

I don't think 5664 has the extended verandah. Look at this post (6th picture down):
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=38775996&postcount=1

See that 5664 is right below the obstructed verandah in the video on the top of this page. Then at 34 seconds see where they pan down from the ship and directly below their verandah there is no extended verandah. So I am pretty sure your verandah is not extended.

The main thing I see in the 6th picture is a pole that looks like is there for the extension of the verandah. Can't really tell much from that pic!

The rooms ending in 64 have to be the extended verandahs as there is no obstruction by the ship. What does everyone think? We have 5664 next month and I will be ticked if it isn't the extended verandah!

:goodvibes I am very interested to see more pictures, but I think 5664 does have the extended veranda. We have that same cabin reserved for our cruise at the end of April! Take good care of it for us :goodvibes

We knew that we wouldn't see the water from the Cat 6 aft verandahs....we are totally cool with that. We did avoid deck 10 in the room choices because of the overhang, though.

So, I am getting that there are no verandah rooms on the Dream that look directly down to the water (vs another verandah or a lifeboat), or not onto someone else's balcony? It's not like we are recluses, and need all of this privacy like big celebrities

I don't recall but can the rooms over 5024 and 5524 like 7022 look directly to the water? Look at the video again. I'm on a plane so can't look.

We will take care of it for you!! If you want pictures, let me know and I can hook ya up!! :)

I posted earlier but I think my message might have gotten lost in the discussion...

Does anyone know what "extended" means on these verandahs? Like extended by how much?

And those who have done the research, am I good in #5156? I think I choose a good cabin but would love some reassurance from those who know more.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I am so sorry about that. I was thinking of the back but you are right that room is in the front. I'll see if I can find if the verandah on the back rooms that end with 64 have the extended balcony.

So, is the verandah on 5026 shared? It looks like there is a partition there :confused3

Here is the photo which I saw you already commented on ;) Sorry I was thinking the front verandah and got all turned around. At least this photo clarifies that the rear-most 5E cabins have the extended balcony. Even better is you should be able to look towards the rear of the ship which is pretty cool.

I totally forgot about that picture, but it confirms it should have an extended verandah!!!

Thanks again!

There was hardware mounted on the partion and on the handrail for another panel. The panel may have been removed since they were refinishing the floors.

Interesting - so that room's verandah has an area that curves around to a regular verandah? Interesting.
